Dec 8, 2011FailingAtFailing posted a message on This Week's "Snapshot" ReleasedWait, as server owner, if I upgrade to this server jar does that mean anybody using my server would also have to update? I know that the 1.0.1 server update to fix bugs didn't require a client update but what about this?Posted in: News

Because of the fact that if all books are destroyed then the book has to be re-made all over again. Also, this allows servers with a shop system to sell books easier through something like an admin shop. Plus, for admins it may be faster to type /give [Published Book ID] 3 than to pull out written books through creative and find a copy of the book.

My idea is to allow this by adding another tier of books called the published book. The published book doesn't store its contents as extra data (like an enchantment) but instead stores it in a file like maps. That way with commands you can obtain more for uses in servers.
To craft a published book you craft 3 book and quills with a written book. You get 4 published books. All of them have the exact same contents as the written book.
I don't know if this is possible but the published book might be able to have a cover when you read it with a 32x32 picture.

I think you're thinking of a Handyman or Repairman. Or the Blacksmith (who should be able to repair things)

On servers consider switching from a wireless card to a wired Ethernet cable. They're generally much faster.

As far as I know only one block is to be added which is the control block for adventure maps. When powered it is supposed to initiate a server command. It is for adventure maps. Texture Pack makers shouldn't take too long to add one block.
Most of the time will probably be the Mod API. It seems pretty complicated to me.
