Finally your IGN(In Game Name) Epicism
Aug 25, 2013Hey, so I made a server with next to nothing non-vanilla or limiting in it except for the fact that there are some banned items (TNT, flint and steel, water/lava). Basically I'll just have this server open 24/7 but the only administator/moderator there is me. So for the majority of the time this is open I'll stop by and jail some people, help with builds, talk, etc. (My IGN is Epicism)Posted in: PC Servers
There's really no purpose to me doing this other than doing it out of boredom and because it's fun.
So if you want to join, here's the IP:

Aug 9, 20131. What is your IGN (In Game Name) EpicismPosted in: PC Servers
2. How old are you? 14
3. Do you record youtube videos? Yes, although I'm not a big fan of recording on public servers unless it is intended to be Mindcrack-style.
4. How long have you been playing Minecraft? For nearly 4 years.
5. What do you most enjoy doing in Minecraft? Redstone, building large structures, marathons, etc.
6. Have you ever been banned ? Only because a few admins were abusing their powers and banned me as soon as I joined their server.
7.Why are you interested in joining the server? Because I like to play non-pvp and any other non pvp vanilla server I've ever looked at goes offline in the next day.
9. Where are you from? (Country) Canada
10. Tell us a bit about yourself. My name is Ryan, I am 14 years old (as you can see), and I am a very experienced gamer. I've been playing games since I was about 6 years old on my dad's SNES (Super Mario World FTW!), and since then, I have learned more and more. I am also interested in PC building and other similar types of hobbies.

I must say, if the case is decent enough in terms of airflow, it may be a better idea to remain with the current computer and just replace the PSU and the GPU. You could save a lot of money that way but it would still perform better than the upgrade.
I can't really put a new PSU in a old prebuilt case very well, it just doesn't work out. He wants some of the extra features like cable management, bottom-mounted PSU, etc.Quote from RaMMiroV98
Well, but if the RAM only look "ugly" but works fine he can reuse it and save some money. As well as his case, is it small or with bad airflow? Also, if he is keeping his hdd, he should have an OS in there, doesn´t he?
On the other hand, as he can´t overclock, the stock cpu cooler should be fine. What is his motherboard?
The things that I would change in your build are the gpu, to a gtx 760, and the psu to something, as said above, of 500w.
I understand he can't overclock, but he would still like as much "cool-looking" stuff as he can get, he understands it isn't necessarily important.
He has Windows 8 and absolutely hates it, so he wants to go back to Windows 7. It's also because some drivers may be incompatible and cause crashes and such.
Case has VERY bad airflow and no cable management or anything.

Umm Switch the graphcis card to a 7870 XT / 7950. (7950 is better but its card to find one for around 230), Get the cheapest ram you can find, also what are the rest of his current parts besides the 3770, If he wanted to save a good 50+$ he could just use the ram that came with the prebuilt, also i would suggest getting somthing that provides abit more watts like a cx 500
He can reuse his current ram, but he would rather just get new ram mainly because the current RAM looks pretty ugly and he would like to have something that looks good and matches the blue/black colour scheme.
Jul 22, 2013So, one of my friends recently got $600 and would like to upgrade from a prebuilt $800 PC (not the greatest for the price).Posted in: Hardware & Software Support
He already owns an i7-3770 (non K) from his prebuilt so we're going to reuse that, along with his HDD and optical drive.
His budget is MAX $650. He would prefer if it could be anywhere from $10-$50 cheaper.
I live in Canada, so most prices up here are very different from the US, so please use the Canadian pcpartpicker if you can.
He wants to be able to play games like BF3 at medium/high at around 40-60 FPS. He also plays lots of Minecraft and Garry's Mod.
I put together this list of components and I think it's pretty solid.
