    Hi,

What audio device are you currently using?

Right click your volume icon and select "Volume Mixer". In the popup, click on the device icon and a second window should open, browse to the "Advanced" tab. Make sure that the "Default Format" is set to one of the 24 bit options.

posted a message on On Windows 10 - all drivers are updated - "Pixel format not accelerated"

    Hi,

There currently are no updated graphics drivers from Intel that support OpenGL (software Minecraft uses to render the game) on Windows 10 for your Intel® 4 Series Express Chipset Family.

You can instead try to download an older Windows 7 driver from Dell here.

Download the driver, and go through the install process and once it says "Successfully extracted files" go to where the files extracted to (by default C:\dell\drivers\R274818\) and open the "Graphics" folder.

Install the driver as explained here - http://hopper.minecraft.net/help/guides/drivers/intel-manual-install/#install (you can ignore the part about extracting the files as that's already done). If you need help, you should be able to contact Dell if they support Windows 10 for your device.

You can also alternatively downgrade back to Windows 7.

we can play together with hamachi trough logmein

    https://secure.logmein.com/central/Central.aspx

Applications like Hamachi and Tunngle are not recommended. They pose as security risks not only to your computer, but also other devices that may be connected to your network. Both of those applications act like devices connected to your local network, and as a result they have direct access to all devices your LAN.

If not configured properly, people can run port-scans and and discover "hidden" devices on your network. It also opens the door for pass-the-hash, 0-day attacks and denial of service attacks on local devices that may be vulnerable. Point being, do not run either of those unless you know what you are doing or wholly trust who you are letting access.

posted a message on Minecraft Windows 10 Help?

    Hi,

There are two versions in use that may be a bit confusing. The current version of the Pocket Edition implementation is 0.12.0, although Mojang is dubbing the new update "0.12.0.1". The other is a Windows 10 Edition platform-specific version which is you can say the "real" version that gets updated with every new release. Whenever there's a new update for the game, the platform-specific version will always update although the PE version may not change.

    Current PE version: 0.12.0

    Current W10E version: 0.12.2.0

You can find what the actual version of your game by right clicking Start, selecting "Command Prompt" and using the following command (paste & press enter):

    powershell Get-AppxPackage -Name Microsoft.MinecraftUWP

Look under "Version: " and you'll be given the version your game is currently on.

Windows Store apps will automatically update but you can still manually force an update for your apps by going to "My Library" at the Store.

    Hey!

I'm also having this problem. I have Windows 10 and have searched every part of the touchpad settings. I don't know where else to look...please help?

Contact your OEM's customer support (Dell, HP, Toshiba, etc.) and they will assist you for your specific laptop model. The location in the settings may vary by device, so you should contact them.

    Hi,

Currently it is only possible to play multiplayer in the Windows 10 Edition with other players on your LAN that are also using the Windows 10 Edition. There is an upcoming update that will allow cross-platform multiplayer with the Pocket Edition.

Refer to the Windows 10 Edition FAQ.

You can't play PE or W10E maps on ipads...yet/maybe/never.

This is not true. The Minecraft Pocket Edition can be played on almost all iOS devices and that includes the iPad.

    Quote from bstensrud»

    ...

Correct, non-ASCII characters are causing networking calls to fail. UWP programs don't have direct access to the file system so what I'm trying to say that the cause is not the game per se, but an external component (library) of the game. The component causing the game binary to crash is what I'm looking for.

Only Mojang has access to the source, but you can't fix something if you're not sure where it's breaking. I've forwarded all the logs you've provided to one of the developers who is looking into it.

posted a message on Help with Windows 10 Minecraft Beta!

    Hi,

You are likely not signing into the Windows Store with the proper account.

You can sign out of the Windows Store by pressing your profile icon at the top right and then selecting your email. In the upcoming window, select your email again and you will be given the option to "Sign out."

Then, close the Store. Open the Store and sign into the Store by pressing your profile icon once again and then selecting "Sign in". Select "Microsoft account" and then sign in with the same email you used on account.microsoft.com. If you use a different account, you will not be able to get the game.

Visual instructions on signing out and signing back in can be seen here.

If the error persists with the proper account, create a new local Windows user profile and check if you can get Minecraft: Windows 10 Edition with that account.

    Hi,

    as per this post:

Right click the volume icon on your taskbar and select "Volume mixer" and thereafter look under the "Device" section and click on the icon. A window will open, browse to the "Advanced" tab and under the "Default Format" option, and check what the dropdown is set to.

Try setting it to the last option (usually "24 bit, 192000 Hz") and press "OK". Check if Minecraft: Windows 10 Edition works thereafter.

Remove Norton and check if the issue persists. Also try removing the other applications if you can. Alternatively, try using a new Windows user profile and check if Minecraft works with that.

posted a message on Where are saves stored in Minecraft Win 10 Edition?
    Quote from Rahzin»

Anyone know if there is a way to change the default save directory?

For example, I'd like them to reside on a folder in my Onedrive so that I can access the same saves from multiple Windows 10 machines and have them synced for me. Is this possible (yet)?

There is not. You can make use of symbolic links instead, that's assuming your cloud service allows them.

I'm not sure if OneDrive supports it, but you can refer to this for information on setting up a symlink: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/16226/complete-guide-to-symbolic-links-symlinks-on-windows-or-linux/

I'll see if I can make a better guide.

You can download the game on up to ten different devices (as of me writing this). This may change, but it's up to the app developer which is in this case Microsoft.

    Hi,

If you downloaded the game, you should be able to go to the Store and search for "minecraft windows 10 edition". Open the Minecraft: Windows 10 Edition Beta page and if you've downloaded the game, you should be able to press "Open".

If you haven't downloaded it, you will need to press "Install" to install the game.

posted a message on HELP! Touchpad wont work when pressing other keys

    Hi,

This is a feature often used on laptops that prevent the trackpad from being used when the keyboard is being used to prevent accidental use.

There should be a setting somewhere in the "Mouse" section of Control Panel to disable this feature.

Refer to this answer for an exemplary guide on doing so: http://superuser.com/a/504576

posted a message on Freezes and then crashes sometimes

This is more of an issue with Windows Store apps (modern/universal app sandboxes not responding). It's not just Minecraft: Windows 10 Edition that will be affected, and it's likely due to there not being sufficient memory or other resources that are needed for the app to run properly.

It's not something Mojang can fix (it might appear to be only Minecraft), you should ask for help on answers.microsoft.com.
