posted a message on No sound when being hit.

Check the in-game sound options and/or remove your resource pack if you're using one.

If you've checked both, restart the launcher and provide to us the Launcher Log.

Then how do you know that the game is crashing? Is it just closing itself? If that is the case, there should be more output in the Launcher Log.

There should be a lot more output past the "[13:57:49 INFO]: Finished downloading".

When your game crashes, you will get a screen similar to this one:

Minecraft Launcher sample crash report tab

Click on the "Report to Mojang" button and then provide to us the entire output of the crash report tab in a spoiler.

    Does this persist in 1.10?

This appears to be an issue setting the game's window icon -- have you tried updating your graphics drivers?

posted a message on 1.10 Causing All Versions To Crash

Undo whatever you previously did, and load up the world with 1.10 again just to make sure the config has been updated with the new 1.10 options.

Then press Win + R and in the prompt, enter the following in exactly and press "OK":

    powershell "cd $env:APPDATA\.minecraft; (gc options.txt) -replace 'useVbo:true', 'useVbo:false' | Set-Content options.txt"

Try launching Minecraft with 1.10 and try downgrading to 1.9 too to make sure they both work. If it doesn't work, can you provide your options.txt file with 1.10?

posted a message on Can't play Game

    Hi,

I'm going to assume that you're having issues with logging into Xbox Live.

Open the Xbox app, and go to the settings pane and look for the "Sign out" option -- select it, and restart your computer. Once you've done that, open the Store and press your profile icon which should give you an email.

Launch Minecraft, and it should ask you to sign in to Xbox Live. Press "Play" and it should take you to the Xbox app, login with the exact same Microsoft account that you're logged into the Store with. Close Minecraft, open it again and check if it still asks you to sign in.

If it does, right click the taskbar and select "Task manager" and go to the Services tab, sort them alphabetically by name and go to the bottom. While Minecraft is open, what are the statuses of XblAuthManager, XblGameSave and XblNetApiSvc?

posted a message on Minecraft 10 beta quits after showing the Mojang logo for a few seconds

    Hi,

Do you happen to have non-english (non-ASCII) characters in your username?

If so, try creating a new Windows user profile without any of those special characters and check if the issue persists on that account.

posted a message on I can not play minecraft anymore, but i have bought the game ?

    Hi,

There are two different versions of Minecraft which you can play on Windows 10. One being the "Java version" that you can download from http://minecraft.net/download and the other being the "Minecraft: Windows 10 Edition Beta" which you can get from the Windows Store.

If you have the PC/Java version, you are able to get the Windows 10 Edition Beta for free. See the post here on mojang.com.

You can continue playing the PC/Java version from minecraft.net on Windows 10 as you always could. The Windows 10 Edition Beta is a port of Pocket Edition designed to work on all devices that support Windows 10, whether that be on a PC, a phone or a tablet (and a whole bunch of other stuff) that runs Windows 10.

The requirement of Xbox Live on the Windows 10 Edition you can think of as authentication. Just as the PC/Java version ask you to login to mojang.com, the W10E asks you to login to Xbox. Microsoft's initiative is that Xbox is already on Windows 10, and one of the "Xbox on Windows 10" games is the "Minecraft: Windows 10 Edition" (note the branding on the Windows Store).

If you haven't already made an Xbox profile, you can make one if you have a Microsoft account at https://xbox.com/. It does not cost money to create an Xbox profile and it never has.

posted a message on Enchantment Table recipe not working?

    Hi,

The Minecraft: Windows 10 Edition Beta is a port of Minecraft Pocket Edition. MCPE currently has a limited subset of blocks and items that you can use, although new things are always being added to move them closer to the PC version. Among it, MCPE also contains some version-exclusive items like the "Stonecutter" that allows you to craft certain stone-related blocks.

You can see a list of blocks and items currently implemented in the PE/W10E versions here.

posted a message on XBox Live Ain't Working

    Hi,

If others on your local network are signed into the Windows 10 Edition with an Xbox Live account, you should see their worlds under the "Friends" tab at the Play menu.

You cannot play multiplayer with people not on your LAN currently. Most people that are using "external programs" are using software that acts like a device connected to your local network (unsafe) and thus you 'can' play with outsiders; although I would advise against using them.

posted a message on Can't redeem MC Windows 10 edition.

    Hi,

You can check if you've successfully redeemed the Minecraft: Windows 10 Edition gift code by signing in into https://account.xbox.com/en-US/PaymentAndBilling/PaymentOptions?managePi=0 and looking under "Transactions".

If Minecraft: Windows 10 Edition beta is listed there, then you've successfully redeemed the game to that account. If it isn't, make sure you signed in with the account that you redeemed the code to. If it's not listed or you're not sure which account you redeemed the code to, you should contact Xbox support and they'll tell you which one it was redeemed to. Go here, select "Xbox on Windows 10" and "Purchase verification" under "Store" - you should be able to call/chat with their support.

If it's listed and you aren't able to install it from the Windows Store, you should try to sign out of the Store and back in. You can sign out of the store by pressing your profile icon at the top right, selecting your email and then selecting it again in the popup. There you can press "Sign out", once you've done that restart the Store and sign in with the same account as you did on account.xbox.com. There's a visual guide to doing so here.

Once you've signed back in, search for "minecraft windows 10 edition" and you should be able to get the game without the need for payment.
