He took the time to write up a nicely done "resume" in a sense. I don't find copy pasting something like that to be a bad thing it shows what hes experienced in and about him, as long as he fills out the necessary information requested by the OP which he did it should be more than fine. In my opinion that is a great post.
There probably is not much that can be done. If he has to VPN in that means hes connecting to another network. It will act as another local network which will have firewall rules based on whoever owns that network (aka looks like the ISP here). I have never seen any kind of internet like this EXCEPT at colleges. If he is at a college good luck getting them to change any firewall rules.
Well he did mention he is using Hamachi. You do not need to port forward if you are using hamachi so it is another issue. It could be your windows firewall.
If you are using hamachi you do not need to give out your public IP address, and you do not have to port forward either. Just load up hamachi and give out your hamachi address.
I am interested and have been looking for a server to help server side/admin. I am a very trustworthy person and understand many things about minecraft hosting. I have setup and owned two of my own servers in the past. I will answer the following in bold with my experience.
- Have the ability to work with plugins, completely, or, be willing to learn. I am familiar with editing several plugins including but not limited to: Esstentials, PermissionsEx, nocheat, and many more
*Being able to upload and configure completely as well as find new plugins that are good for the server. Easy I can setup my own minecraft server from a centOS command line, I am very familiar with using FTP to simply upload plugins
*Being able to work with SQL databases with plugins. I have not used SQL as much, I am familiar with the basics and using it to connect to premade software for websites, and I am familiar it is used for several plugins like LogBlock but personally I never had to set it up. I am sure I can learn/figure it out. If it is as simple as opening the config file telling it what the sql database name is, user, pass than that is something I have some before.
- Have ability to work with website Yes I know basic HTML, and familiar with how websites are setup
*A little knowledge on building and working on websites would be great. Like I mentioned above I can help edit/post announcements, or even a little basic graphic design help with buttons/banners
*Ability to work with fourms/boards/topics/threads for server I have been an admin on several forums I am familiar and can learn any forum board. I am very familiar with phpBB.
- Would work with members of the community and the server itself
*Settling arguments
*Dealing with griefs All of the above I have no problem working with members that is the major job of being an Admin and on the staff. I can handle grief reports, hopefully you guys have an antigrief system setup like logblock or similar.
*Maybe building stuff for server - not needed as I can not build at all. I am absolutely horrible at building, I am in the same boat as you. I love playing minecraft, but you will not find me building anything amazing. This does not mean I am not a great admin, being a builder and an Admin are two seperate things, I am capable of managing the server, helping with plugins, and keeping an eye on the server.
I am very familiar with CentOS/Linux and although you already have the server setup it is a good thing to note. I know how to setup java, screen, open the port and setup an entire minecraft server all through command line.
Note: I do have a full time job in the IT field where I am on the computer all the time. So during the days I will be busy, but I will have access to the website/forum, and SSH access to the server but I cannot be on the game itself. Nights and weekends are when I can fully dedicate my time.
You will not run anywhere near 80 players. The specs of the system is fine for a minecraft server but the 4.5 mbps upload speed is your bottleneck. You will probably be able to run 20 players max comfortably, and possibly up to 30 with some lag. This will also flucurate because you are using a home connection which is not going to be dedicated.

Either way it would defeat the purpose of their reasoning. The reason they do not offer custom jars is because other jars like Tekkit require huge CPU use. The minecraft hosting, and VPS hosting all share the same CPU, only way is to get a dedicated server from this host at least. It is a good route to take though for the company because it allows them to have host MC servers without overloading/overselling at this awesome price point.
