I wish I had 10-12 hours of sleep. Thing is teachers honestly don't actually care about you probably.

Particularly if they have tenure. LOL

Ignoring them or asking them how their day was usually is a better way to get back at them since they want a reaction. If you don't give them a reaction they don't get any pleasure out of calling people names or trolling them.

    Best response yet!

For me, I get annoyed at reading something published by someone who doesn't understand the difference between to, too and two or they're, their and there. People who wear out the work like or use the words anyways and irregardless, or any double negative. Or just as bad, a person who constantly relies on redundant phrases within a sentence.

The sad truth is teachers don't really care how much sleep you get.

They load you up with 3 odd hours worth of homework due the next day and you don't end up going to bed until 11-12ish finishing assignments and whatnot, then having to wake up at ridiculous hours (5-6 to catch the bus) and then get to school.

Huh, sounds like a typical adult day to me.

A question for the OP: In what capacity is this survey useful for your math class?

Oh man, what seed are you using? I crave caves like that.

I'd be happy to post the seed along with the coodinates when I get home. I found the mineshaft beneath a randomly generated sand and stone hill right next to two sand villages not very far from the spawn point. I found yet another mineshaft last night at the bottom of a random "hole in the ground". By random, I mean, I didn't know it was there until I fell into it! I found it in the middle of a jungle biom not too far from the mineshaft I just discovered. It looks very promising, but I have yet to explore much of it. For those who are wondering, it is quite disorganized! LOL

    Quote from Happykeystv»

OCD is a disorder as suggested by the name(Obsessive Compulsive Disorder) so if this is about how irked you feel about the disorder in Minecraft then I understand there is medication. Though, I do think you may have OCPD which is what a lot of us have and mistake for OCD.

Anyhow, so this is a rant, yes? If so, I'd just wish to know what it is you're trying to get across, what point was needing to be made is all

For argument's sake, the difference between OCD and OCPD is contentious. The D in both abbreviations stands for disorder, though I do agree, the latter is more of a personality "quirk" rather than an "anxiety", for lack of a better word. As far as the point to all of this, I suppose there isn't one. It was a realization I was sharing with you all and whatever conclusion that came from this post would be completely dependent upon the individual. Nothing more or less. I am completely sarcastic and a full-time smartass, so I was posting this as a way to poke fun at myself and hopefully someone reading has felt the same way while playing. For example, I have to clear out uneven land around my structures, my caves and mines are always even and symmetrical and my numerous chests are meticulously organized and divided into categories. LOL Again, I find it funny that this game has really made my quirkiness appearant and was just posting it here for you all to poke fun or to share your similar thoughts. Tis all!

    Happy mining!

Perhaps it would work well If cats/dogs made noise less frequently. but then increased the rate of their sounds when hostile mobs are near.

That's it right there! I like the animal sounds, but I agree, they get a bit "chatty". I would prefer hundreds of other upgrades/updates before this change. It's a bit "knit-picky" to me, imo.

posted a message on Minecraft with OCD

Just a simple realization that I came to last night while playing. I didn't realize how much my OCD affected my thoughts, but this game has really brought it out. I came across a mineshaft lastnight that seemed to go in every direction, up, down, left, right and seemed almost endless. Though it was a good find, I could not stand how "unorganized" it felt. Uugh.....Rant over. ;)

It may be a common topic, but I have to agree. I would love a customizable texture pack and adding all the other options, ie. soundtrack, backdrop, etc. would just be icing on the cake! I'm hoping Mojang/4J are reading these "beat-to-death" topics. That should tell them something. ;)

posted a message on If a /better/ Minecraft existed, would you switch?
    Quote from wonderdude»

Completely agree. :) Mojang did an amazing job with Minecraft. No doubt about it, if they didn't it wouldn't be one of, if not the most popular game in the world. If you can even call it a game. What I love about Minecraft is that you can make it your own, it's more of a sand box than a game. A sandbox that allows you to do anything. Whether it's creating an rp environment with quests, or a PvP minigame, a jumping puzzle, an adventure map or more. It's absolutely amazing, but it could also be more, without hurting or changing the game.

Mojang putting out an update to add bunnies, and other specific things helps keep it fresh. But it's such a minor thing compared to a true sandbox. If that restriction wasn't there, people could add a lot more than bunnies into the game on their own, in much much less time than it would take Mojang to push an update. But right now it's limited to client-sided things. Where people have to endure crashes and boring hours trying to make it work with your 7 other mods that break with every new update. If all of it was vanilla, supported and kept in mind when updates are pushed, Minecraft could be so much more, so much different for each server. Personally I'd stay away from changing things. But just adding the ability to do more is what got me interested. If someone wants to make a space server with flyable smooth space ships they should be able to. Without having to deal with height limits, you should be able to create entire planets in an /almost/ infinite space without being restricted. There's so many possibilities if Minecraft was just a better environment to do what it's trying to do best. Be a sandbox.

Personally the performance doesn't interest me too much. I got a great setup able to run it with shaders on far without an issue. But most players don't. And they see a totally different game from me.

As for completely switching. That was a bad choice of wording. Even if I do delve into this project, I doubt I could stay completely away from Minecraft either. The creepers and so many other proprietary things Mojang owns are just too perfect.

as for the off-topic section. I wasn't 100% sure where to put this. It's technically not Minecraft. While it's related to Minecraft I though the mods might lock or delete it, because it's a minecraft /competitor/ that is being discussed. While my interest isn't competing or earning a dime on anything. I just want to be able to create a fully custom experience for players on a server.

    Thanks for your reply!

I see what you're saying and I have to agree. I think a lot of things are limited due to coding, virtual memory, or Mojang/4J is merely attempting to keep things a bit more exclusive. All of this is pure speculation and only the developers can state for certain. I do agree with you, the bunnies and such were a silly addition to the game and did little to nothing to affect gameplay. I enjoy both survivor and creative mode equally, so if I get bored with one, I'll switch maps. My building projects are more than enough to keep me busy for the next few years and the real problem that I have with minecraft is that there just isn't simply enough time to play! :D Eventhough minecraft has been out for several years now, the game feels very much in its infancy phase. I think there are great things that lie ahead, the bummer is we have to wait.

posted a message on If a /better/ Minecraft existed, would you switch?

If it were a "better minecraft" it would still be minecraft, would it not? If not, then it would be a minecraft rip-off. Video games get boring after a while. It's just a fact. However, I think minecraft is one, if not the best game ever created in regards to replay value. Despite what a lot of people say, I believe Mojang and 4J have done an excellent job with the amount of upgrades they've published. We all wish for more of this or less of that and it's no different for any game out there. I for one would enjoy more texture packs and even mix-and-match/customizable mash-up pack(s), but that would be a lot less important to a player who doesn't enjoy creative mode. I guess to answer your question, if there was another game that completely took what minecraft has established and used it to make a "better game" I'm sure everyone would be interested. Would I switch only to this new game and never touch minecraft again? Absolutely not. It would merely be a different game for which I'm sure I would enjoy for different reasons from what I enjoy about minecraft. I'm always excited about getting updates and not everything they put in these upgrades I enjoy, but it is their creation to do with what they will.

One more thing, why did you post this in the "off topic" section? This is a minecraft forum. Mods should relocate this to the discussion section.
