This picture reminds me of someone... someone egotistical... but who could it be...

    That is all.

Also, damn Minecraft updating. I knew it would happen soon, I just hoped Opulentia would return before it did. Ah well, patience is a virtue, no?

Wait, what? What are you even trying to...

So basically, you're known for getting ridiculously pissed off and getting incredibly mad over trivial things. But, that's perfectly justified, because everyone knows you for doing that...?

I'm not quite seeing your logic here. Moderation forcibly removed your posts, yet they should just understand because "that's just Metal being himself". Maybe you are known for that. Maybe not. Maybe this "history" of Opulentia is what lead to the colossal superiority complex. Also, being the center of attention and drama isn't a good thing.

Some people who follow Scientology are known to commit crimes. Those who do so get arrested. You're "known" for going on demonic rants. People who go on demonic rants and violate the rules are eventually banned. As far as that analogy goes, the police/moderation don't think it's justified at all.

My point is... well, honestly, I don't have a point I'm trying to convey. I'm more confused at what you're trying to say here. If you're trying to justify your actions, read the above paragraph. If this is just a joke, then... what.

I think you're both idiots. One tries to prove he is better by using big words, and the other releases stress from a period on a game forum thread.

I apologize. I'm not attempting to prove myself better than anyone, and if I seemed to be implying that, then I apologize again. I also try to use the same level of, well, grammatical comprehension in all of my posts. My first posts use the same "level" of grammar as do my current ones. Again, the only thing I'm trying to accomplish is not having to see the majority of Opulentia's players erupt into an argument.

It really shows that you're 12. Instead of sitting on the internet and use memes go out and get some friends. Seems like you need some.

That's a rather hostile response, in my opinion. Also, though most people who talk through these things are typically antisocial, that doesn't mean that everyone and anyone who uses these "meme" devices will be ostracized by everyone else on the planet. The insult ("You have no friends.") is about as intelligent as, "You have no life".

    Quote from blockbuilder539

    ********.

I rarely use memes, it took me exactly 10 secs to write this (I'm not ****ing sitting in the internet the whole day), I DO have friends.

    Why the hate? Jeez.

Responding to a hostile comment with hostility won't solve much, you know. Granted, he outright insulted you, but that doesn't justify this. In my opinion though, there was nothing wrong with your previous post.

Let's not have another argument erupt forth from Opulentia, alright?

A nice, fresh page. For Opulentia's sake, let's keep it this way.

In other news, it's a shame Opulentia is still down. Granted, I suspected it would be down for a good time. If it was only going to be down for a day or two, I highly doubt they would have given an entire free month. If it was only going to be that long, they might have given him a week, or nothing. The fact that they gave him such a large amount of free time lead me to suspect it would be down for a couple weeks. But like I said, when the server comes back, it'll be bigger and better than it was before, and that, in my opinion, is worth the wait. Also on the bright side, seeing how much time has passed, we'll probably have a bunch of new faces on the server, which is always good.

Regardless, let's hope the server maintenance doesn't last too much longer.

posted a message on [1.6.X] Portal Gun - Reconstructed [v1] - Rewritten... again.
I'm having the exact problems mentioned above, and it's incredibly aggravating. My portals fail, spawners get destroyed, my portal guns themselves cease to function, etc.

I've tried reinstalling it many times, I've tried getting the latest version many times, and I've tried reading the forum many times just in the hopes someone found an answer. All of these attempts have failed, and all I've found is that other people have the same problems I do, and the creator of this mod doesn't seem to be planning on fixing them.

I repeatedly trust them to return me after a long trek, only to find they've failed and I have to walk back. I've tried using them to cross simple areas to save time, and they fail to properly place, or erase eachother, or spam noises. The amount of bugs this mod has is just too unbearable for me. I will stick to Industrial Craft teleporters from this point on, and will happily remove this mod from my jar, forever. Good day.

Metal's last post violated some major rules. I merely pointed the moderators in the direction, and that was the end of it.

I hope the server comes back soon. Granted, I'd wait for weeks if I had to; I'd just prefer it comes back fairly soon. I'm sure most of you would do the same.

Ah Moderation, solving the world's problems since... I'm unsure.

Also, very acceptable application above. His application would be great as a model for other young users, though I find it ironic that someone who's 13 reads the application more clearly than older users. Always good to have another user capable of reading the rules on the server, I suppose.

My only argument was that someone should not be ostracized just because they submit a single bad application, nor should they be judged if they're younger than the average player on a server. The argument in it's entirety seemed to change gradually, starting at his application, then going on to being young, then on being egotistical, then on the concept of donations, and finally came to rest on the concept of arguing this argument. Frankly, the whole reason this ever started was due to the fact Metal accused my valid suggestions to maybe_your_kool as "trolling".

    Quote from Metal Mercenary
    Quote from Exper404

Suggestion 1: Edit your original post. Don't just leave it there if your "info" was inaccurate. Especially if it's on an application or something else important.

Suggestion 2: Instead of asking for the IP, you could have asked why the server wouldn't let you connect, or why it was down, etc.

Suggestion 3: Better yet, instead of posting that the server is broken, why don't you read the latest posts of the forum, to see if anyone else has mentioned it. (99% of the posts on the last couple pages)

Suggestion 4: "so please stop saying bad things about me" Sadly, some people might take that as a challenge. Merely say, "I'm sorry, I made a typo, I was just confused about the server not letting me connect". Or something similar to that.

    That is all.

Also, if you're submitting an application, keep in mind the server is temporarily down, so you might have to wait a little bit to connect.

OK honestly guys, stop trolling this kid for making an honest mistake. Either it was the carelessness or a simple typo, does it really matter? I think you guys need to find a hobby, LOL.

Anyway, let's hope the server returns to us soon.

You on the other hand, are a newcomer and don't have any say at all. Yes you have an input and you gave it, now shut up. Don't argue about it, you made your point. As a matter of fact, I'm the longest player on the server and have NEVER seen you log on.

Thank you for proving my point. You've very clearly shown your superiority complex, and gave absolute proof of your egotism. I'm glad to know you talk down anyone who you deem to be inferior, and that you consider anyone who you haven't seen frequently to fit said case of inferiority. It's also great to discover you're the greatest human being to ever log in to this server, and that's clearly a fact because you state it is. Everything I state clearly has no meaning to you, so there's no reason to waste any more of my valuable time doing so. Good day.

    Quote from Sarkos

maybe_your_kool can simply play as a trial member until he can actually prove that he understands these mechanics. Perhaps his second application will require a bit more proof that he understands the mechanics compared to the usual applications. For now, his current application will not and never will get him an acceptance into the server.

I think this is a very reasonable response (As well as the rest of the post). This would be a very viable solution, frankly. Thank you for expressing your thoughts in a clear and intelligent manner, unlike another individual.

    Quote from nickyh1200

Well, it is for a fact that Metal is a sponsor, and we HAVE stated that sponsors' opinions matter more...

I won't go into details, but I'll summarize the history of an awful past server. Basically, an awful user that had a large sum of money donated a colossal amount to the server. In essence, they "bought" admin, as they were soon promoted. That user then assumed they were the greatest thing to ever grace the server, treating every other user as an insignificant dog. Said user continued to kiss up to the host, until they became co-host. That user then went on to cause the community to hate the server so much that the server completely died off. I would hate to see something even remotely similar occur here.

The moral of the story, is that donors may be slightly more significant than the basic user who shows up every couple days, but they do not deserve to be worshiped, nor should they be given attention if they go around gloating it. Of course, I know you mean that their opinions matter on the actual server itself, not how it's administrated. I'm just giving my opinion on the matter.

Evidently the server is under heavy repairs, but we should hopefully result with a server that's faster and more stable than before. Plus, the server gets another free month, so I wouldn't be complaining. Regardless, it'll be worth the wait in the end.

I am also the most experienced player with betrayals on the server (LOL)

    I beg to differ.

    Quote from Sarkos

Permission to deny maybe_your_kool access to the server based upon his application?

Not only poorly constructed with a deceitful age, he directly copy and pasted the "Prove it" section from another applicant.

    Quote from Metal Mercenary

    Permission denied.

He saw that other members were (wrongly) posting descriptions. He could very well have been confused on the code and guessed if other people were making responses, he should too. He also said that he meant to type a "1" instead of a "2", and accidents like that do happen, to some extent. I'd understand why he'd want to lie about his age to some degree anyway, because some asshats (Perhaps such as you two) might "call him out" for being younger than themselves. Now of course, this discussion was already far over, and it was discussed before. He knew the minor mistakes me made, and rectified said errors.

Of course, you felt his application was so horrific you just HAD to let everyone know how awful you thought his application was. If you ask me, I'd rather have him than two people who constantly attempt to point out others' flaws.

As for you, Metal Mercenary, seeing that you've proven yourself so intelligent in the previous "debate" on "trolling", I'll advise that assuming the role of an administrator will ensure you never become one. Commanding the host of the server to do something (Rejecting a user, because you don't like his application) won't help.

Again, I support the application of maybe_your_kool.

"How do you know that some people aren't withholding valuables," No reason to do that, we have plenty of everything.
But if someone wanted the last pieces of lets say diamond we would either discuss it or just give it to him. We would have new diamonds within a day.

The loyalty thing: RAoV only consist of trused peoples. We joined up togheter in the early days of Opulentia. The new members that come and goes are friends that one of us have known for a long time. So there is a low chance of betrayal.
Also there is no leader that can deciede what you should do. That means there are mostly no hard feelings against others in the group. Also everyone in the clan is required to have a mic.
There is no reason to betray RAoV except for being an ass.

Ofcs it all boils down to personal perferance. Just saying being in a clan is awesome.

I can understand with a large amount of people and a decent-sized world, diamonds aren't exactly low in supply. I can also see that it's a rather exclusive clan, and every individual who's a part of it is rather well-known amongst them. Still, being part of an organized and, well, professional clan would be fun, I suppose. However, if you took the number of "good" clans and compared them to the amount of "bad" clans, the "bad" clans are far more common, ergo it might be harder to find a decent, enjoyable clan. Nevertheless, like I said, every thing has perks and downsides, and is up to your own personal preferences.

Do keep in mind though, it's possible to have a corrupt leader when you're in a group, yet impossible to have any corruption or selfishness when you're alone. Power always seems to lead to corruption, from my experience. You can trust in yourself more than anyone else.

I don't know how the other clans work but in RAoV we have a big chest room with all the resources that everyone share.
Everyone adds to it and takes from it. It's way more than I would have alone. We have no personal chests at all.
Also its great to be able to call for backup, or just fight together for fun.

I suspected you had a setup similar to this. The problem that surfaces is the fact that what if everyone needs one particular item, and you only have one of said item? Does it go to the leader? To the one who found out? To the person who works the hardest for the clan?

Another issue that presents itself is trust. How do you know that some people aren't withholding valuables, perhaps a diamond or two. Or perhaps more. Sure, you could say loyalty would prevent this, but sadly, not everyone in said clan shares the same amount of loyalty. There's no easy way to discover if someone is stealing, and who that individual is. Of course, they could just say "I needed those 24 diamonds for diamond armor". And depending on your clan's view, I suppose that could be a justified reason. Still...

Again, it all boils down to personal preference. Being in a clan has perks, being alone has perks, and being somewhere between the two has it's own perks. All of them also have drawbacks though, and must be taken into consideration. Regardless, you can play however you want.
