Alexus and Aura, you should both be added to the whitelist within the next day. This thread is slowly managed, as you can see. I hope to see you on!

    Username: Cadmus_Mara

    RPG Name: Cadmus

    IRL Age: 15

    RPG Age: 30

Backstory: Cadmus, originally a soldier of the Byasvonde army, fled after his lord's death and came to settle in Sanea. He never let go of his loyalty to the empire, even as it burned in faraway lands. He built his town, Alverci, and lived a bright new life in Sanea as a merchant.

Reason: The server sounds really fun, I love RPGs. This one sounds small and honest, so I'm looking forward to it.

Plans: I plan on starting the Sanean economy, and hopefully getting new people to live in my town, Alverci.

    Quote from Dracknorin

This looks like a great server, but before I decide to apply, I have some questions.

First, could someone please explain the "Lore friendly" part of the rules to me? I get the idea, mostly, and I've read the lore several times now. However I'd like to know what exactly this entails. (To be honest, I may just be over thinking things, but it doesn't hurt to be sure.)

Also, is there a restriction on character species (within reason)? I have a character that is thought out, and has some backstory already, but is a reptilian species.

    Thank you in advance.

Dracknorin, I apologize it took me so long to reply. This link is not managed very often, which you can surely tell. On the topic of lore-friendly names, I basically can't have any factions like McDonalds or players named things like HappyCat123. All the names should fit in a fantasy novel, to put it simply.

There is a very light restriction to species. If it's humanoid, it works. If your player happens to be reptilian, just get a reptilian skin. That'll work.

    Thanks!

Thanks for all the feedback. As you can tell, at least by your comments, I was in need of the feedback. I wasn't aware of how blocks changed as they fell, or how forests were part of Minecraft's character. The only feature that I think really needs to be advertised in the currency idea.

NitrogenSnow, I'll take your feedback into consideration, for moving the topic to a new category, that always confuses me.

Thanks!Let me explain about Number Four, for all who are confused. Some servers use physical currency, like emeralds, for example, that players carry in their inventories and trade manually. My older RPG server uses this system, and we used emeralds until people started mining emeralds and became rich simply because they had time to mine. Number Four explained that there should be a finite amount of currency on a server, so there could be a stable economy. Please tell me if I missed something.

posted a message on What Needs to Change (for Minecraft)

Minecraft today can barely be recognized as the same game, with all the new features and gamemodes and developmental feats the Minecraft team has undertaken. It's great. It's mysterious. But there are things that have remained untouched, things that have not changed or need to be changed. Little things that would do so much good for the game. The little things that bother us momentarily, that we forget about a moment later.

I am here to present a list of things that need to be changed, in my humble opinion.

    Number One: Stone Slabs

Stone slabs have never changed. They look the same, act the same, etc. This one needs a new texture. In my latest resource pack, I've made a new texture for it. The stone slab really should match its stone block counterpart.

    Number Two: Dull Mineral Blocks

Diamond and gold block textures have been the same from the beginning. Gold looked like a hefty slab of butter, and diamond looked like a pastel blue box. I personally believe that they should look a little different, a little newer, or they might not fit in with the new textures, like emerald and iron blocks.

    Number Three: Forest Burning Mechanics

The way forests burn is a little weird. When a fire sweeps through the woods, it leaves chunks of tree floating in the air, and ultimately burns itself out. This leaves for a messy burn zone, requiring the player to manually dig the tree guts out of the sky. This isn't very realistic, never mind convenient.

    Number Four: Server Money

This one, in my opinion, is the most important. Emeralds work just fine when you're trading with villagers, but that system is seriously broken on a server. People can just mine emeralds on a server, which completely gets rid of any hopes for a stable server economy. There needs to be a special item that only administrators can spawn, that cannot be crafted or found anywhere else.

    Number Five: Physics and Chests

Chests in real life crash to the ground when you remove what's under them. Not the case in Minecraft. Those trunks will continue to stay magically suspended in the air, defying the laws pf physics. It can imagine the satisfying thunk when a chest falls to the ground, and how they could be realistically placed on one another in storage rooms. It would be both realistic and decorative!

Thanks for reading, and I hope you think about it, and give me some feedback. If there's any necessary changed you see that Minecraft needs, put them in the comments! Thanks!

Right. The pack obviously isn't finished yet, but I wanted to do a release Therefore, we have version V1.0, and I'm fairly sure I have Yushatak's permission.

I don't mind if they're my own or Mojang's; I made this pack to suit my tastes and it works for me. I'm not looking to distinguish myself, I am publishing this pack under the assumption that other people share my tastes, much like Yushatak, from whom I borrowed a few textures.

Though it grieves me to say it, spartanHalo, there are a few reasons I can't accept your whitelist application. First, you didn't read the rules, which makes any good admin very sad. Secondly, your backstory has no discernible storyline to it, which complicates things. Lastly, you don't fit our age group. Sorry to kick you out, but perhaps you can try again later. Thanks for showing interest in my server!

On another note, our server has an official texture pack, which you can see here:

Like a lot of texture packs out there, I made Montvonde for myself and for my RPG server. Just as a fore-note, I give much credit to Yushatak for the textures that I borrowed from him, like the ones for stone and wood planks, etc. Most of this pack was done by myself, although his pack is very worth checking out.

Montvonde was designed to be cozy. It doesn't differ from the default too much, and I try to keep the textures soft and recognizable. The kind of pack you can play with comfortably, without having to switch to default if you don't recognize a block here or there. Montvonde is all there.

I think I'll outline the main features of this pack as of Release 1.0

-New iron textures, darker and more realistic in that manner.
-New blue glowstone texture, more decorative.
    -New diamond texture, more cyan-like.
-The End is now much darker.
-Unique tool textures; all in all more badass.
    -Creepers now more creepy.
-Now including Cyan Flowers from the Pocket Edition!
-And a bunch of other awesome things.

Here are some tools, weapons, and materials:

Here you have some armor, ores, and mineral blocks:

Ooh! A closeup of dirt and grass:

And here are your End and Nether textures:

And here you have a nice view of a city gate (with cyan flowers!):

I'm feeling pretty generous today, so I think I'll let you download my little texture pack. You can do so with the link below.
