No. They just did not add plugin api yet. Mods will exist.Quote from itachka1
Wait… Now, Minecraft will be without mods? That's terrible if this is true.
Or I missed something?

No. Framerate did not change.
And on another computer, on which minecraft works with 80 fps usually, framerate is still like that, but mob movement is choppy. I mean: they move for a second, then stand for a half of second. It's very annoying. -

That's all (well, except creative inventory) because of removal of SSP and replacing it by local SMP server.Quote from curseoc
This snapshot, and recent snapshots, are radically different than 1.2.5. I do find the lighting bugs to be especially annoying, and apparently they won't get fixed til 1.4, so even when 1.3 comes around, those bugs will remain.
I haven't had any (new) issues while, briefly, checking out 12w27a on a MP server, and a little on a SP world. This is when comparing it to 12w26a.
In theory it should be possible to restore SSP with mod, but with incompatibility with almost everything. (Except rendering mods, maybe) -

Maybe. But they don't happen on 1.2.5. It's enough.Quote from xGrimReaperzZ
Stop being a whiny kid, that's why i don't come here as often..
I could give you a list saying that the problems are from your side not Mojang's fault, but i don't think that i care enough to write a list down for you!

1. Lag spikes of death every 5-10 seconds.
2. Mob movement is choppy.
3. I punched zombie to the wall, and he almost stopped — mobs move too slow near walls.
4. Player doesn't have blocks on hotbar in creative by default.
5. No loading bar.
6. First world generation is soooooooooooooooo slow!
7. Right after generation I started to fall and even saw black sky like in the void. And only after that chunk I was on loaded.
8. Light glitches. Black shadows after trees, black shadows under overhangs in extreme hills etc.
9. New creative inventory is too small.
So they call THIS improvement?
To people who say that this is not final: You said same thing on first snapshot with server-SSP thing. And it still lags and mobs are still choppy. -

I can't see moderation button in my thread anymore.
New bugs:
Save Changes button in post editing does not work.
Quote button does nothing, same thing with MultiQuote.
Toggle editing mode button does nothing.
Preview Post button redirects to news.
And I still can't follow my thread.
Is it upgrade or downgrade? -

Even if it looks alright, it's bad solution. The biggest problem is — either mountains everywhere or no mountains. To compensate that, there are few "X-hills" biomes — ForestHills, DesertHills etc. Still they have their bad sides. For example, you can't get a mountain between 2 biomes, you can't get a mountain plateau etc. I agree that they can generate nice hills, but there is no variety at all.

And I absolutely don't see any points of doing work that is already done. I can understand people who rewrite mods/apps with restrictive licenses, but OldDays is open source.

Also presets now only apply options that were changed. That means that switching, saying, Alpha 1.1.2_01 to Alpha 1.2.0 is almost instant.
Say thanks to the launcher developer. I don't even know what it tries to do. (Patching classes directly?) Anyway, it should not do that, it only needs to copy files with replacing.
However, it looks like classes are completely different from what launcher expects them to be. Are you sure you use correct mod version?

Seriously, I don't understand your logic.
This is just useless. "I accidentally clicked on a wrong button and my marble castle is now dirt house."
You don't have to craft it. Just the fact that it exists doesn't automatically make you use it. And you can disable quartz ore, so it's useless².
This is present in OldDays.
Health was not changed. If you mean hunger, it can be disabled. Armor is customizable — aren't 1.7.3, 1.8, 1.0 and 1.1 enough?
If you will make a proper list of what do you need, I can add them to OldDays. Recoding such a huge mod is... Well, stupid idea. Especially when it's open source.

1.4.* version was even more unfinished, so unfinished that I didn't publish it outside of the letter private conversation.

"Some features are restrictive" — interesting, which ones are?

This mod is very large, and Forge is being developed VERY quickly, breaking compatibility there and there. And there. And a crash there. etc.

No.

Optifine works OK, but OldDays texture things don't work at all.
For me it works just as normal booster.
Both are too weak. :/(When riding cart, it's absolutely the same)
