I only wish the powered head lockup bug would be fixed.

posted a message on I would like your thoughts on this door I built.
Forgot to add where the button goes, on the right side facing the doorway in front turn to the right and go to the side (where the one torch is) and place a repeater facing away from the wall in front of the RTorch then one redstone dust in front of that and a repeater facing forward (to the direction you came) then one dust in front of that.

You will notice it connects to the block with the RTorch on it and since its at the front of a repeater the auto-connect doesn't effect it and it stays + shaped.

Where the button goes is obvious at this point as the first repeater leads away from a block on the inside of the hallway.

I was fiddling with it as I do with all redstone maps I grab and modified the design a bit:

Less subterranean wiring but still hidden, also opens space to wire an exit button.

    Also only uses one RTorch.

To above user: It would be a simple matter to make a small 1x1 trapdoor under the block in front of the button.

    Finally able to post again!

So, Evo, is it a though nut to crack? I've been trying, myself, but I can't figure it out.

Wow, this one works properly with a button and it's a whole lot more compact than mine! However, the redstone torch placement prevents me from hiding in flat terrain. It's really good, though. I can definitely use it for something! Thanks!

EDIT: I just explored the save a little more. I discovered the piston chain thing you built, and a cow riding a mine cart. Get a little bored?

Sorry I haven't posted till now (designing a website for a customer) but I came to the same conclusion as the above user it is not possible as long as power is coming from the bottom of the tree due to the powered piston head bug.

EDIT: Lol I started building on the map myself afterwords, made an epic piston hallway that slowly unfolds from the sides and top simultaneously:

Still needs another button to attach to the TFF from the other side though.

Oh don't worry, I'm still working on it.

I WILL make it work if it kills me.

The problem is the trapdoor is much too close to the tree, so that when you activate the button or level the redstone below it locks the piston in place because its powering the extended part

Its a cakewalk if you move it one more space in front of the tree.

Yeah, but if I remove the lever the pistons retract. And a button is off until it's pushed, so it will only close the door.

EDIT: I originally used the ingenious device at 1:40 in video, but there were some complications forcing me to use the current system.

Take away the first torch and connect the wire, I had it inverted only because of the lever.

Edit: I don't recommend using that method in the video especially with compact wiring, as you can see it will power anything around that block which can really screw wiring.

its best sometimes just to do the 1 redstone with a repeater on a lower level trick.

This is excellent! Thank you! I didn't know you could use torches like that. I am just starting out, you know.

Now, I just need to figure out how to replace the lever with a button. Using a button was the original plan, but I just couldn't get it to work at all. So, I used a lever.

I wanted to try flat landscapes first. I'll try doing hilly terrain later. Might try your lake suggestion too.

If you use a button it will stay open for about a second then close, should work fine since its a trap, if the pulse isn't long enough increase the delay on the repeater I put before the first torch.
