A lot of places have multiple skins for use with things like this. It'd be nice to have, say a "Minecraft at Night" theme, or something of the sort. Anything but the current one. It hurts my eyes. People could even create their own, like in Google Chrome.

I just noticed that the mod support information in the OP is horribly outdated.
For those who don't know a version of Faithful with mod support is maintained and updated constantly.
You can get the latest here.
The list of currently supported mods is here.
You can request mod support/report bugs here.
Before making a request for support or a bug report check the list and make sure you are using the latest version of the pack especially if downloading via the FTB launcher (which isn't always up to date) as we tend to add new textures every day or so.
Keep in mind we update the pack along with the latest "Release" of a mod, we do not update alpha/beta/test releases unless its been in that state for a certain amount of time.

Awhile back I made a jar chooser/launcher (whoo hoo who hasn't right?) well the launcher doesn't require an install and I thought you might want to include it with minecraft portable, I still have all the vb source files so it can be modified all you like, I attempted to pass it on to another user but they didn't bother continuing it...
Its coded with the most basic of vb and its relatively light so its not some large undertaking, if you would like to take a look at the source send me a pm and ill link you to it.
Otherwise just ignore this post. ^^

But if we could wire vertically by default I can see the benefit more in the fact of reduced delay.
Because I am quite sure, even though not a large logical circuit builder myself, that a lot of the delay in these systems comes from the need to wire vertically.
I do wish we had a special no-delay repeater though, possibly crafted like booster rails with gold:
