request: can u remove this thing where it says too expensive or something when you are trying to put an enchanted book to a good tool already thanks!
... This mod already does that. Make sure you downloaded the right one though - not the "Only Enchant" or "Only Enchant w/ Forge" versions which only affect the enchanting table.
I actually really... really... list this. This is like EnchantView and Better Anvils combined, but far far better. Great work. I'll keep my eye on it and probably use it if it updates. Also, what are the chances on making this a mod where you can put it into the /mods/ folder?
I'm not sure how to have it work in the mods folder. I didn't test it, but I thought it would have worked already. I can try I'm working on a version for 1.5.1 right now. I made it for 1.4.7 originally because I wanted to use it for my FTB world. Thanks!
This mod makes enchanting and anvils less annoying. I made this mod mostly for myself, because I didn't like how enchanting worked. It turned out nicely, so I thought I would post it. This mod is similar to the EnchantView mod, which I would have used, except I couldn't get it working with FTB, and I think it makes enchanting too easy.
Note: This is the first time I've modded Minecraft. There are probably bugs. Also, I used EnchantView as a reference for the server/client packet sending.
What it does:
Enchanting - Instead of being a total random chance when enchanting, hovering your mouse over a button gives you two possibilities. One is right, and one isn't*. So instead of a small chance, you have a 50% chance of getting what you want.
*Sometimes on lower-level enchants, both tags will say the same thing because of the little possibilities.
Anvil - Renaming items on anvils always costs 3 levels or less. In regular anvils, renaming can cost up to 39 levels! Also, it allows repairs that cost more than 40 levels (instead of saying "too expensive!") and it lowers the cost of repairs over level 30, so you don't spend 60 levels on something.
Install For Regular MC:
Standard mod installation - put the class files inside the zip into your minecraft.jar.
Install For FTB:
This is tested with FTB MindCrack (v8.2.0). Select the pack in the FTB Launcher, and click on "Edit Mod Pack". Click on JarMods, and then click on "Add Mod". Choose this mod's forge zip.

Thanks! It says how to split the anvil and enchanting it right below the download buttons. Just remove the unwanted class files from the zip.
