Hey there FC,
I was wondering if I might tempt you with a challenge.... (I am also hopefully not just repeating what someone else has requested in the 900 odd pages in the other forum)
You see, I like how you have made a pulley pull not just the rope but a grouping of blocks.
The challenge: using a piston on a pulley while lifting up a platform, pushing the pulley, rope, anchor and platform along with it.
That, and solving every other problem doing so would entail, for example collision with the platform and not the pulley...

I'm desperate!
Just install only ModLoader the game freezes after logging in a black screen, and only after the update 1.4_1 I've this...
Help me please :sad.gif:
Did you delete the Meta-Inf folder?
TG
Also try re-downloading modloader via the "old versions" link and select the modloader 1.4_01. I had a problem that it was downloading 1.4v2 and caused the blackscreen problem
Just pushing this up to the next page, so someone might fix it.
are you installing your mods before you install modloader or after?
It is important that you install Modloader first. the reason i ask is because you said "threw on all my updated mods" which seems to suggest you did it all at once, which wouldn't be good. Also, what OS are you?
EDIT: sorry that wasn't you who said it, regardless the question still stands.
Yes I used 'threw' instead of going into detail, my apologies. But as I explained on the line below it I restarted with a clean minecraft.jar, removed meta-inf, placed on modloader (only) and thats when I got the black screen.
Running windows XP.
I noticed a trend reading the posts back to when it was updated, a lot of people experienced in using mod are having the identical problem, but it is true that it is working for a lot of people as well. I'm sure there is a pattern, I just can't quite grasp it...
HAH Got it!
Problem is simply this. At the moment when you click 'download' for modloader it is supposed to give you the latest version. But it is not always doing so. My current solution was to click 'old versions' and manually select the modloader B1.4_01.zip
I hope this helps anyone else currently in the same situation

I'm getting black screen problem as well. It was working a few days ago, and I'm installing it exactly the same. I tested it multiple times.
Nothing added - works fine
Texture Pack added - works fine
Mod added - works, but mod obviously doesn't work as it needs the mod loader
installed modloader - black screen
I've repeated this process about 5 times to ensure I'm really doing it right. I've also just tried installing the modloader by itself and it indeed causes the black screen.
It works for me, have you deleted meta-inf? its the most common problem with getting black screen xD pretty easy to forget.
I ditto this: Threw on all my updated mods... black screen.
Started from the beginning with a fresh minecraft.jar step by step:
Run ok
Delete META-INF
Run ok
Install Modloader
Run...Black screen...
At least i didn't have to wade through my whole list before I found the problem

And fair enough. Just thinking about the logistics to do that in code... makes me remember why I quit the programmers path long ago.
