New locations await you. Etherion has left a clue in Freedom Hall to locate his personal arcanum and item dispensary. This sanctuary is well hidden and may only be uncovered by resourceful adventurers.

Etherion's Sanctuary is the perfect staging point for expeditions into hostile dimensions. The Ender Dragon still lurks within The End and the Nether remains untouched by Etherion's hand.

I have created a little preview video to tantalize your eyeballs while I polish the map itself.

Etherion Challenge 1.6 works(for the most part)in the released version of Minecraft. The only issues are the automatic lights not working in some rooms and the timing puzzle mechanism for the "cylinder of psychosis" is broken. The mechanism can be bypassed by breaking the glass just to the right of the "unlocked when lit" torch. After breaking the glass follow the green redstone wire to where it "T"s and break the redstone at the "T". The bottom half of the cylinder is functional and must be unlocked to power the cobble generators.

EC 1.6 is likely the last version of Etherion Challenge.

Notch blogged today that the next official release of Minecraft would
be in Vegas at Minecon. With that news I am releasing EC 1.6 without further delay. I hope you enjoy the new stuff. Pretty much all of Etherion Challenge has been updated visually to reflect the new features. As always new achievements have been concocted. Check out the achievement page for more info.

Most of EC 1.6 is completed and ready to publish. Minecraft 1.8 has changed the face of Etherion Challenge. In an effort to update Etherion I have logged more than a few hours polishing aesthetics. Etherion Challenge 1.6 brings with it new content as well, Cylinder of Psychosis, Verusian Acumen, and Verusian Criteria. I have decided to keep tuning and tweaking until 1.9 is officially released. As always some new achievements have been conceived; Improvisor, You must be good at Patterns, Verusian Pathfinder, Verusian Saboteur, Verusian Demolisher, Ambassador, Stronghold Assault. Achievement Island has also gotten a face lift. Players will be able to record and display their progress with a single screenshot. Check out the official achievement list for more details on how to complete each achievement.

EC 1.6 will be released some time after(week or so)Minecraft 1.9.

Could you coop something with codewarrior maybe and get this functionality within MCedit? Just curious. Would it be difficult?

Good stuff. Wow. I would love a tutorial of you working this. It would be nice if MCedit had this functionality in it.

and while I didn't play through all of yours it was because you lost my interest.

    Valid concern: Perhaps more signage.

I find it rather saddening that you are not taking into consideration the thousands upon thousands of Minecraft Players who do not have optimized computers.

Lava and fire do cause issues I agree. I recommend using the default TP if you are having problems. I understand this gripe, but at the end of the day it is me putting in all these hours creating something and I want to like how it looks. This compromise is unfortunate, but I have cut corners where I thought I could.

I did read the signs, I read every sign I encountered. If you played through my map you would see that I too make liberal usage of signs. And no, I did not read your thread, but I did read the every text file provided. In the end though, I'm not reviewing a Thread nor am I reviewing a written work, I am reviewing a Minecraft Map. Hence the entire name of this thread; "Map Reviews"

This is you being defensive and I apologize for coming at you sideways, but I think you missed out on some very important info by not reading the thread. Most if not all of the maps in this forum use their main thread to fill in the gaps. I for one, do not like seeing signs everywhere explaining everything. Minecraft will eventually have NPCs and books and what have you. I understand other maps have created placeholder NPCs out of pumpkins and fences. That was not my idea and as much as I like it, I am not going to steal it outright.

Also I don't believe that you truly do appreciate my perspective. Calling it "Rushed" and "Shallow" leads me to believe that you disliked my expressed opinions. Which is perfectly fine and dandy by me; Just keep in mind that I am not going to praise you for something that doesn't deserve praise. I am a Critic. By definition I criticize. If you can't tolerate that then you shouldn't have asked for a Review to begin with. I reviewed your map. Poorly done work with fabric poking out of the seams. It was sloppy, copied and pasted, it felt very bloated with little story to back it up, and had horrible puzzles. These are my opinions and whether or not you agree with them stands to reason.

This is you being rude. I called it shallow because it was. You barely scratched the surface. I called it rushed because you said something in this post about having too much on your plate. That isn't a giant leap of reasoning there. Let me ask you how constructive is "horrible"? Where can I go with that? Calling it "sloppy" is ridiculous, the contraptions in my map don't really allow for too much sloppy. If you are a "Critic" as you proclaim, I think you would appreciate the process a little more.

EDIT: If you'd like me to rereview taking all of your "Required Content" into consideration, I will do so.

If you don't enjoy playing EC, I don't want you to play EC. I am not a sadist like Etherion himself. I just live here. Surviving on my will alone.

So StreamofAdventure, what map should I review next?

Also, you guys need to cool it. We're swamped enough as it is.

You aren't doing these map makers any service by rushing through maps. If you don't have time to take more, then don't take more. You should also take into account the technical specs of your hardware. My map received an arbitrary review and quite honestly, a shallow one. I don't regret submitting my map, but your review is of little use. I appreciate the different perspective for sure, but I can tell you this..."ChrisTom" did not read signs or the main post for that matter. How can you expect to do a review justice if you just skip around content? I don't want to offend, but please if you are going to review....review completely, it is the only responsible thing to do.
