I basically make it so that even if you don't donate, you can still get the same things relatively easy. Some people just like the recognition, you know? I've had a couple people who decline and perks or benefits, and I appreciate the modesty. Heck, no one even needs to know that they donated at all. Either way, whether you donate or not, we welcome anyone into our community. C:

I whitelisted you. Come see what you think.

    For sure, thanks.

You do have some steep preferences; You might have better luck finding a place if you lower your standards. ;3

Check out mine, anyway. It's got the strange benefits structure you talk about, but it's not like you need to use it. There is a ranking system, but each rank pretty much has the same privileges; It's a just-for-fun ranking system. There is PvP, but the only engagement rule is that the players PvPing are in agreement.

    Uptime is 95% - 99%.

    viewtopic.php?f=1025&t=110563

This is why the are mostly 'preferences' and not 'requirements'. I find them practical, but i can work around anything.

I like to donate in good faith and i usually do so often. It just seems illogical to me to donate for extreme privileges or items that are in very limited supply by nature or render the natural mechanics of the game useless or debase their importance. (not saying your server is like this, just in general).

I stay relatively faithful and help a lot.

I can see how it goes though.

posted a message on Mature player seeking SMP/RP/PvP Server.
I'm a 25 year old, very frequent MC player with admin experience.

I like minimalist servers (not heavily modded SMP IE 10+ mods. Just enough to cater to a modest play experience. necessary multiplayer mods and borderlands are ok for instance).

I'm usually a donating player, but I'd really really prefer a server that doesn't adopt this weird pay/donate for benefits architecture.

I dig PvP SMP without a novel worth of obscure and variable 'engagement' rules. Faction/Team Based is great.

    I can handle RP/SMP.

Don't prefer servers where you start out as a fledgling with no build rights or a restricted 'caste' system.

I'm very mature with no history of griefing. I work very well with others, play often and can help with admin/op based tasks(though I'd rather start low and get a feel for the server).

Im an old Ultima Online vet, so Im digging the parallels that alot of the RP/PVP based servers share between them.

Please feel free to hit me up. Despite some steep 'preferences' I'm willing to give any server a shot, so long as it has 97%+ uptime.

I also have a dream of mapping out Felucca/Trammel-esque SMP one day.

posted a message on Modest PvP/SMP Server?
I'm a very very frequent adult player looking for a SMP/SMP PvP(rp is fine too)server.

Modest can be defined as having a fairly 'exclusive' player base and fairly barebones, not modded out to death. Hard to find an SMP that stays true to the traditional SMP feel without modding it into oblivion. 1 or 2 mods are fine.

I'm a safe player and becoming fairly vocal on the forums.

Just looking for a fun, close-knot and minimalist community.

    EST Player, Have Admin experience.

    Re forwarded and still failing.

After all this effort, i can establish that 'maybe'"

    1) SOMETHING is making this port angry. There is talk of ISP blocking, but i have Comcast friends down the street from me who don't have this problem with MC-Servers.

    2) My login attempts are hanging at the 'Authorizing' stage, but this wouldn't explain why i can connect to "other' SMP servers. I just can't log into my own! lol. Even localhost.

Hmm... Would you happen to have the *wrong* IP in the port forwarding process? Maybe, if not that, then could you (if it is alright...) post the EXACT process you do for this when you download it? And I mean with a bit of detail if possible :smile.gif:.
    (Example: .... navigated to <> folder, opened <> folder, changed <> to <>, ......)

I could have very well fudged that up. I've tried with my 'confirmed' internal and 'confirmed' external ip for the sake of trial and error. For both TCP/UDP. The IP is very reassuringly correct and if it isn't or wasn't, I have tried every possible IP against this to see if it fixes anything, which it doesn't.

    I'm using a Dynex e401 i believe.

Now, logging into router admin i have these input fields:

[Checkbox here to enable as Virtual Server or not]

    Name - (Minecraft)

Private IP - (Inserted every imaginable IP here)

    Protocol Type - (TCP/UDP)

Private Port - (set to 25565)

Public Port - (set to 25565)

    Schedule - (set to always)

In the very likely chance that comcast is blocking ports from the ISP end (as hosting a private server is actually violating their ToS somehow it would seem), I tried via VPN or Server Proxy, which should just about negate the need for forwarding in the first place and STILL "TOOK TOO LONG TO CONNECT".

I am verily totally stumped in ways I have never been stumped before.

Im really starting to think it has to be semi-server side for MC.

Aye, this was tried. I can't really think of what else to do. I've spent hours upon hours on this.

Yes, I would STILL be working on it, but my friend (who is the only one to help me by using his server (he has the router) to check and see if I can log in) has gone to bed... God I hate nighttime at certain points... And yes, but before I knew about the port forwarding, I was idiotically flying through Google, 7 tabs open at the same time to read a lot at once, trying to find out how... So yes, I did that for 2 hours and no luck. So yeah, I understand ya. And at that time I didn't even consider the forums, so yeah.............

BACK TO TOPIC! Anyway, lol, like I said, re-forward the port and such, and try again :smile.gif:.

I just skimmed it so forgive me if I missed it, but did you add a rule to Windows firewall to allow connections on the port? I found that even though my firewall was off I had to add a rule to allow it before it would actually connect.

Like he said, he already checked to see if that helped. But good thing to bring up :smile.gif:. (I would of forgot it if he didn't already have it x-x)

    Yeah, thanks for the reply.

The port tool used is: http://www.canyouseeme.org/

Once again, it says my port 25565 'Timed Out' while trying to check open/closed status. So my 25565, is just being finicky before hand without Minecraft adding to the problem. I've tried closing out everything and rebooting to free up any program occupying this port, with no result.

In response to this, I've tried forwarding and hosting on other available and unused ports, but even after forwarding Minecraft returns: "Connection Refused".

And yes, as host, you want to connect locally and localhost. I've tried other illogical fields against this in the hopes it might work either way, but still no luck.

Forwarding and hosting on a different port, simply returns: "Connection refused".

Hosting with the appropriate online settings and conventional Server-Properties returns: "Took too long to connect".

Now, Minecraft-Server logs my IP and notices my attempts to connect to my own server, what is displayed in log is, "Disconnecting <IP HERE>, took too long to log in".

So MC-Server 'Is" actually acknowledging my presence and attempts to log in.

The last time i heard about this "took too long to log in" thing, it was a server side issue for Minecraft, but I logged on many popular servers to check my server status against theirs, so this also means that it's a problem with me and it isn't likely a server side issue.

I'm trying not to make this post redundant, I've read seriously close to 100 posts on the same subject, yet my case seems slightly unique.

To get things started, I've forwarded said ports, am using the correct minecraft-server and the latest updated Minecraft client.

I've tried literally every combination of settings in server-properties to see if i could even connect locally offline, to no avail.

I have noticed that when using openport tool to check open/closed ports that it "always" returns a "timeout" error when i check to see if 25565 is actually open.

So far, I always get, "Took too long to connect" within minecraft or I get a blatant, "Connection Refused" when I try to forward and connect through another unused port, namely 3724(i think it was?).

    So I've tried literally everything.
I've tried setting online to false, I have tried localhost at multiplayer prompt, i have tried external/internal IP's, I've tried different ports, I've modified server-properties every which way to try different fixes(resestting to default after each try fails), I've tried leaving ip=, blank, I've tried with IP's, I've tried logins with :25565 or :3724 port modifiers, I've tried updating java, re downloading MC, re downloading MC-Server.

The multiplayer aspect and ability to hose server with friends is literally the only reason i bought the game.

One theory, is i was thinking there is possibly 24hour delay on verifying my account? And im getting rejected at authorizing via MC servers. Yet, i can join other SMP servers, which probably counters this theory. This account is probably barely a day old.

Other than that, I've tried everything, all fixes and read 100s of posts on similar topics.

So I'm trying my hardest to keep this as non redundant as possible.

    Thanks.

**Update: I am running Windows 7 32 on this machine btw**
**Update: On another odd note, open port tool is 'Timing Out' on literally all the ports I try, yet I have added firewall exceptions and disabled firewall at times and still doesn't work**
**Update: Tried VPN and Proxy Server tricks, still "too long" error messages.**
