Do you have any experience roleplaying? I have some, mostly from a now dead post-apocalyptic server (From Ashes)
Why are you applying? I really like post-apocalyptic settings and roleplay on Minecraft, and its been a while since I've been on one.
Have you ever been banned and if so why? I have been banned once for stealing from the house of an extremely inactive player. I thought he had left the server for good.
Do you agree with the rules? I do.
Will you destroy/steal/grief admin created structures? No.
Will you use Last Days texture pack? Yes.
In Character (IC)
Name: Mackenzie "Mack" Anderson.
Faction (Optional): None.
How old is your character: 34.
How does your character act? While he can be kind and caring to those he deems deserving of it, he can be cruel and unmerciful towards his enemies and uncaring towards those he is unfamiliar with. He tends to be untrusting of others.
Does your character have any family or close friends? None to speak of. His brother was killed by bandits when he was twelve, his father died from radiation sickness when he was eighteen and his mother passed away after being injured badly in a fall when he was in his mid twenties.
Is your character educated (Read and write)? He is compeletly illiterate.
Does your character have any special skills or proficiencies? From his time wandering the wastes, Mackenzie has been able to become a halfway decent shot and, after spending some time with a small group of bandits, he is also fairly good at fighting in melee combat.
Does your character have any weaknesses? His main weakness is his standoffishness when talking to people he doesn't know; he isn't very trusting and, as such, tends to have few friends.
Does your character hate or fear anything? He is claustriphobic and hates being in enclosed spaces. He cannot stand caves or mineshafts, but only gets a little nervious when spending time in buildings.
Your character’s story so far (At LEAST 5 paragraphs): Mackenzie grew up in the wastes. His family spent their days travelling from city to city in search of food, water, and ammunition. Mackenzie was taught at a young age how to search through junk to find valuable tools and items, how to purify otherwise dangerous water, and how to find food wherever he was. His father taught him how to use a rifle, making sure that he could fend for himself in case anything happened. His mother showed him how to prepare various foods and showed him how to use the few supplies that they had to help injured and sick people. These were the happiest days of his life. During this time, Mackenzie was very trusting and kind, always looking for ways to help others. His parents knew how to avoid bandits and raiders, so he never knew how dangerous life really was.
When Mackenzie was twelve, however, times became very hard for the Anderson family. Mackenzie got his first taste of how cruel people can be. Raiders found their way into his family's camp. By the time his brother raised the alarm, it was too late. The raiders had already grabbed as much food, water, and ammo as they could carry, but didn't leave before killing his brother. Mackenzie's father grabbed his rifle and shot after the raiders, hitting one in the leg. The rest of the raiders managed to escape, abandoning their friend, leaving him to his fate. After Mackenzie's father made sure the raiders were gone, the small group slowly approached the injured raider. Mackenzie's father drew out a knife and slowly killed the raider while Mackenzie's mother held Mackenzie back and watched. Mackenzie's life changed forever after that night. Everything he thought he knew was turned upside down; his father, his hero, had just tortured someone right before his eyes. His brother, his protector and fellow mischief-maker, was lying dead in the dust. They buried his brother the next morning and left the area forever. That was the night Mackenzie realised that no one is worthy of trust, even those he knew all his life.
Three weeks after Mackenzie turned eighteen, Mackenzie's family got a tip from a Stranded village that there was food aplenty in a near by town. Mackenzie's family headed off towards the town, but the closer they got, the more uneasy they became. They began to notice more and more bodies, mostly fresh ones, bodies of people who seemed to be leaving the town. The closer they got, the higher the body count got. On the outskirts of town, Mackenzie's father volunteered to got scouting in the town to see why everyone was dead and to see if he could get his hands on food. Mackenzie and his mother waited for a few hours. Finally, Mackenzie's father came back, empty handed and with a stricken look on his face. He told them how not only was there no food, but the was also lots of radioactive fallout in the town. When he started vomiting and complaining of nausea, Mackenzie and his mother knew that he had radiation poisoning. They tried their best to care for him, but they lacked the proper supplies to cure him. In the end, all they could do was make him comfortable while he passed on. He died the following day. Mackenzie was devastated by this, but choose to hide it from his mother. To her and everyone they met in their travels for the next few months, Mackenzie appeared to be a cold, calculating machine, never complaining, never showing any sort of emotion. This eventually evolved into a sort of gruff exterior; he showed emotion, but it was usually frustration or anger when something didn't go the way he thought it should.
Ten days after Mackenzie turned twenty-six, he and his mother were scavenging in an abandoned high rise. While Mackenzie looked around the kitchen area of a room for food and water, his mother took to the bedrooms and the bathroom in search of medicine and items they could trade. As she approached the bathroom, a mutant burst through the door and attacked her. Hearing her scream, Mackenzie rushed to her aid, but not before she had been horribly wounded by the mutant. As Mackenzie put a bullet into the mutant's head, his mother passed on. As he turned to help her, he heard the sound of running foot steps, and knew he had to leave. He made a quick barricade in front of the door, gathered what he had found, and climbed down the fire escape. That was the day he decided to do good. That was the day he decided to join the Dusters.
Provide an example of a role-play situation with some dialog (At least 2 paragraphs):
*Mack shatters a window on a house and climbs inside. His companion, Jackson, climbs in after him*
Jackson: Are you sure this is a good idea? I mean, we know that there are raiders in there.
Mack: Shut up, kid. Or do you want to starve to death?
Jackson: I'd rather starve than get caught by one of those crazy bastards. Do you know what the- *They hear someone shouting*
Mack: Crap. Alright, kid. Do as I say, and we might make it outta this alive.
*Mack puts a rock in the middle of the rooms as though someone had thrown it through the window. As Jackson starts to speak, he puts a finger to his lips and points to a nearby closet. The two climb inside as a heavily armed raider walks through the door*
Raider: Who the hell is here? If I find ye, I'll gut ye like a pi- *He notices the rock and broken glass* Damn idiots. *He looks out the window, but sees nothing. He turns to the door where he came from.* False alarm, lads. *As he leaves, Mack and Jackson climb out of the closet*
Jackson: That was way too close, man. If they catch us the-
Mack: *Cuts him off* Shut the hell up. We need this food.
*They both look out the door, and see a long hall way dotted with doors. As they search each one, they discover that the raiders had looted every room*
Mack: *Whispering* I think they have everything through there. *He points at the last door in the hall, from which they can hear voices and can see light coming under the doorway. Mack sneaks up to the door and peeks through the key hole. He sees three heavily armed raiders sitting around a camp fire. They appear to be drunk. Mack scans the room for some advantage and sees window*
Mack: Alright, kid. You wait here. When you hear my signal, I want you to fire into this room, got it?
Jackson: *Looks shaken* What's the signal?
Mack: *Grins* Probably gunfire.
*Mack pats Jackson on the back and heads back the way they came. He climbs out the window and around to the other window. He peers through and notices that Jackson seems to be watching through the keyhole. Mack holds up his hand and counts down from five on his fingers so Jackson can see. When Mack puts his hand down, they both fire into the room, taking the raiders by surprise and killing them. Mack comes in the front door, grinning*
Mack: Look at all this stuff, kid! We'll eat and drink like kings for weeks!
*As the the two go through the stuff, a fourth raider comes through the front door wielding a knife. He stabs Jackson in the spin, whose shout alerts Mack of the danger. Mack shoots the raider twice in the head, then looks down at Jackson, who is slowly and painfully dying.*
Mack: Sorry, kid.
*Mack shoots Jackson in the head, then grabs what he can carry that he deems useful. As he leaves he takes one look back at Jackson's body*
Mack: A damn shame.
*Mack then shrugs and walks away with his new gear*
Describe what your character looks like and provide a picture of the skin: Mack has muddy brown eyes, dirty brown hair, and wears an old, grey scarf which covers his mouth. He wears an old, brown shirt, and old, brown pants. He usually wears biker gloves on his hands.
