First the FTB Forums and now Minecraftforum.net. Someone is intentionally trying to kill Minecraft.

That's it? No wonder I play modded minecraft instead of vanilla when this is all they put out.

Could someone tell me why there are so many snapshots on Minecraft vanilla? I've always played modded and therefore the packs don't change as quickly, but I look at the news feed on this forum and all I see if snapshot dolphins, snapshot kelp textures, snapshot tropical fish, etc. Please excuse me, I don't mean to be negative, but those seem to be extremely minor, if not irrelevant changes, that could all be lumped together.

I am probably the only person in the world who does not care in the slightest about this addition. IMO, there are far better things to added to Minecraft than turtles.

Just look at Don Quichote: the entire thing is the story of a guy that has read so many chivalry stories that he's gone crazy with it and thinks the real world obeys the same rules as the books, leading him to all kinds of misadventures. All that because everyone knows that books are bad for you and they rot your brain and you're never going to learn how to be normal if you just sit in front of that #*@ book all day!
Your post made me think of the guy I met once who spoke like he was in a fantasy novel. He was well spoken (at least according to the genre), knew lots of big words, and had the confidence level that keeps someone from being a "nerd." Regardless, the guy sounded like a big goofball every time he opened his mouth and you constantly found yourself stopping to reorganize what he said into "today's vernacular."
I don't think video games are negative in and of themselves, but when it comes to kids growing up, they should be outside more than they are in front of the screen. This coming from someone with a 5 year old who is more addicted to Skylanders than crack.

I am a modded survival player who primarily builds tech structures and I enjoy reaching automation milestones. I guess you could say it is much like what I do every day at work, continue to take steps forward despite adversity. Whether the problem is not enough iron, the blood moon rising, or an upset client, you have to be able to see the bigger picture, analyze the problem, and decide what the next step is.

I am looking for an extremely small server (around 2-5 people total) to join and play some form of modded minecraft. I generally prefer some sort of "kitchen sink" mod or another tech heavy pack. I am a zero drama family man who likes to play nightly (usually) around 8pm cst and a variable time on the weekends. I would be open to either a cooperative build or moving far away and doing my own thing, but either way it is important to me to play with friendly people. (logging in and gaming for 4 hours without 1 word typed isn't friendly in my book) I would be willing to donate to server costs, for the right server. Feel free to inbox me if you want to talk further.

Most of these are really dumb reasons, but in the end you have to remember that the op is the op. Its their server, their rules, even if the rules are anarchy.

Seriously? You are going to badger me over a minecraft application format? Get real. My application tells the server owner more about me than IGN and Mc Background.

Screw your server.

I have tried SEVERAL together, but the problem that exists is not enough of them seem to spawn. I have better dungeons, roguelike (and a couple that require spawning) and not found a single dungeon in ~100 hours played.

If I want to do absolutely nothing but run into dungeons, kill stuff, and build with what I find/earn, what mod/modpack do I want?
I've tried roguelike but I have literally never seen any difference.

I have been looking for a small group of people to play modded survival with, preferably in a cooperative manner. My tag is Born_0f_Fire (0f has a zero, not o). I do not use voice chat programs, but I do type chat in games. Feel free to inbox me if you have questions.

Anyone able to help / anything I can post that may provide more information?

Likes:
Survival mode
falling meteors mod
Great dungeons! Lots and lots of dungeon spawns, the more complex the better!
Variety of unique monsters
Space travel that doesn't take months and months worth of grinding like GalacticCraft
Mods that make quality of life better like tech that doubles ore, treecapcitor, etc.
Quality minimap that shows monster locations without all the clutter of showing me where every animal is
Dislikes:
Hardcore mode
Tinker's Construct
Anything related to zombies
Micromanaging status effects like thirst, over heating, insanity, etc.
