I can't think of the name of the mod they are in, but there are floodlights. It might be Immersive Engineering, but I might be wrong too.

posted a message on Some modded youtubers?

If you look up the words "<pack name> mod spotlight" you will get exactly what you are looking for.

I am incredibly critical of YouTubers and have really only found 2 that I like, DireWolf and CheersKevin. These 2 YTers get to the point without a lot of extraneous information and don't have severely annoying voices.

If I may offer some advice for learning how to play modded... pick 1 mod and learn it. Don't worry about anything else until you have a firm grasp of THAT mod. The very first mod I ALWAYS recommend learning is Tinker's Construct. It is simple, practical, and provides fantastic tools and ore doubling. From there, learn something like Immersive Engineering. IE is a major step forward in modded knowledge, but it includes everything you could EVER want: ore doubling, energy generation, item and RF transport, automated mining and soooooo much more. The other mod I strongly recommend is Actually Additions. AA has the best mining tool (Actually Additions Drill) hands down. It also has automated ore generation (lens of the miner) and wireless item/RF transmission (phantom interfaces), and so much more. If a magic theme is more your thing than the tech side, start with Botania and then move to Astral Sorcery, Blood Magic, and Thaumcraft. IMO, magic mods are far harder to understand than tech mods.

posted a message on Is anybody else extremely interested in overhauling the state of combat-based "dungeon" structures in Minecraft?

I have always found "dungeon exploration/combat" mods to be useless because of the effort vs reward. You battle your #$% off to get through a couple mod spawners and safely get to a chest and you end up getting a few bones and a fishing pole.

posted a message on What is the most important for ore processing to you? Tech, Magic any mods.
    Quote from Worldsshrugged»

To be honest, the only important ore processor to me is a furnace that finishes faster. Anything else is an excuse to craft to have an excuse to craft to have an excuse to craft in my eyes.

You are right to a point, in most cases, higher processing rates are nothing more than showing off. In almost all packs you will reach a point where have automated ore collection, processing, and storage infinitely. There are a few exceptions though, like Avaritia and Draconic Evolution (to a lesser extent) where ore collection is meant to be a grind.

Another option is Nuclearcraft's Manufactory. While this is only 2x production, it is extremely cheap to make and will often duplicate ores that a sag mill or other such machine wont.

Let's get the obvious out of the way, "best" is subjective.

If you are looking for raw ore multiplication vs resources/time sunk, I would have to nominate Mekanism as the #1 ore duplication mod. It will take you up to 3x with no effort at all and 5x with a little bit of learning and effort. To be honest, I would nominate Mekanism as the greatest Minecraft mod ever created. But that is just opinion.

If you are considering 1.7.10 mods, Reika's mods has some extremely over powered ore duplication, something like 12x or higher, but those aren't mods you are going to pick up and play without earning a doctorate degree.

Other honorable mentions are Immersive Engineering and EnderIO. While neither of these 2 mods are "op" or "easy to set up", IE has beautifully crafted multiblock structures and is a long time favorite of mine since I love multiblocks, and EnderIO, once upgraded to the advanced versions, are straight up crazy fast for production speed.

Generally speaking, tech mods are considered to be more "op" than magic mods, but magic mods tend to have a little more substance to them.

posted a message on Any good custom map/modpack for learning Blood Magic and some Tech mods?

The best advise a person can get (IMO) for learning mods is to watch mod spotlights on YouTube as there is always someone who knows more about the mod. (I know you said you didn't want to do this) Beyond this, try using the various wiki pages and NEI/JEI. Another thought might be to try one of the various quest packs with gated technology so you are forced to learn each part before you can proceed.

posted a message on 1.12.2 vs 1.7.10: Which is better?

It is 100% opinion but I favor the newer generation of mods. I haven't played 1.7.10 in years.

posted a message on Your opinion about Minecraft

1-[/b] When you join a Minecraft server, what thing make you stay or leave the server?

Stability, stability, stability. If I get excessive block lag I am gone immediately. I like a server with a quality vote reward system and possibly a server currency system. I also look for opportunities where I might be able to help out as staff and improve the community.

2-[/b] When you play survival either in single-player or multi-player, do you get bored? If that's the case, what makes you be bored?

I get bored a lot once I have full automated infinite resource collection/processing/storage, although that is not always when I quit playing.

3-[/b] What would you add, change or remove to make Minecraft better in general?

MOAR MODS! Minecraft without mods is like life without food. More mods, new mods, new game mode ideas.

I think this is all fine... for the early game. By the late game concepts like storing XP are entirely irrelevant. It goes to show flawed the system is.

Support... fixes the initial problem.. while maintaining the underlying issue. Still better than what we have now.

I never considered deleting items a problem, thats what void pipes and trashcans are for.

Play modded and put your xp in an xp obelisk. Better yet, make a mob farm and pipe in the xp chunks by the thousands.

posted a message on SHORT - What server would you be interested in playing?

I like servers that don't lag. I also prefer servers that offer vote rewards that are meaningful and an in-game currency mechanism.

I also like servers with active moderators to keep the nonsense in check.

posted a message on When would you call it quits?

I would stop playing when people stop creating new mods and modpacks. If it wasn't for the folks on the FTB team, I probably would have already quit.
