The first version of Minecraft Enhanced plus will probably be released the same day or shortly after, I finished the new transparent glass for it last night and it looks really nice but again, it looks way different than vanilla so It looks like it is a good choice to release it separate along with any biome specific textures.

TLDR, yes 1.6 will be ready the day of or the next day.

The horse health meter is missing from the GUI.

I apologize. I haven't been in the best of moods today. Turns out the lag was my own fault. I accidentally set my render distance to far instead of normal at some point and never noticed until then. (For some reason, my computer is great at normal distance, but far just kills it.) I have no idea what recalcitrancy is, or what it has to do with my past posts, but I'll do my best.

To be perfectly honest, it isn't really that good. You don't spawn inside the quartz box, but outside of it (tested 6 different times, each time I spawned outside of the box), the map has no real obvious way to go and it is incredibly laggy.

The screenshot you included was of super flat, not a normal world. Actually, the new deserts are much hillier and more like extreme hills instead of plains.

Just in case you haven't noticed, there have only been two snapshots. In fact, in the new snapshot blog post, they say that they didn't add much this week because they are focusing on the new launcher for the time being.

Creepers aren't very useful either, and yet they are in the game.

Creepers drop gun powder. Gun powder is used for TNT and splash potions. Therefore, creepers have a use.
