    Nothing 1.6.x is going to be backwards compatible with 1.5.x. I feel a bit sad for SMP admins that were still in a holding pattern on 1.4.7 expecting DRPG to eventually be released for 1.5.x. But only a little because the writing was on the wall long ago that it was wise to move on.

    I can't even imagine the headache of someone with a 1.4.7 server running DRPG and a few other mods trying to migrate/upgrade to 1.6.x directly while trying to retain their world save.

    If you read the title of the post or the countless similar posts to yours, including a couple on this page, you'll find that IDResolver has not been updated to 1.5.2.

    Just tested this and it works fine. You'd need to provide more information about what versions, mods, etc. you're running. You should not have to touch any configs.

    I'd probably be sad too if I used that mod with BoP. If you want assistance though you should ask a question i.e. "I'm experiencing this using BoP with x". Making a statement that they don't work together just makes everyone feel bad for you but also unable to help you. :(

    If you think the BoP team is lazy do it yourself. The code is open source. Right there on GitHub.

    Rather than spiteful I'd say they own the mod, do it on their own time for no monetary benefit, and since no one is a paying customer they don't want to waste personal time in their own lives to appease angry complainers that are getting additional MC awesomeness for free.

    We, as mod consumers, are unpaying customers. We should walk with our feet if we don't like the direction a mod is going.

    Yeah it was a bug with mudballs back then. It's been fixed since but if you're stuck using 1.4.7 because you're sticking mods onto a modpack just wait until modpack team updates their stuff. It's been covered but the BoP team isn't going to go back to the 1.4.7 code to make it work when people slap BoP onto FTB, etc.

    Don't throw mudballs or update to a newer version. Both options will fix the issue.

    I've been playing with an almost identical modpack for a couple months and I have most of the mods in Hexxit and another dozen or so on top of that. Taking a quick glance everything should work without any horrendous glitches but to make structure generation work 'perfectly' you will need to make changes to the configs for Better Dungeons and the Ruins mod.

    BD has a link on the first page of it's post for making the necessary changes to work with BoP and there's a really well done BoP compatible config folder on the last few pages of the Ruins post as well. Also not sure exactly what version of Natura is included with Hexxit but you WILL need the latest dev version (if it's not already released, haven't checked in a while). Otherwise you'll have major issues when you enter the nether.

    There's also the distinct possibility of biome id conflicts with XBXL and itemid conflicts but that's something you may have to deal with in any modpack when adding new mods to it.

    No I saw you mentioned MSC. That's why I suggested the only spawning mod I'm aware of that actually DOES control spawning as intended. "Just Another Spawner". That's the name of the mod and why I put capitalized the first letters in the name. It's some serious work to get set up purely because it does give you so much control. I'd avoided it although I was aware of it and was very glad I invested the time afterwards.

    I'm not on the BoP team so I'm obviously not speaking for them. But the issue isn't with BoP it's Dr. Zhark's broken, buggy, busted spawner.

    I'd rather the BoP team work on their already planned added content and bugfixes instead of spending time adding a switch to turn off something that is only broken by another mod's bad coding. There are complaints from other mod authors in that custom spawner thread that haven't been answered, at least publicly.

    Best way to deal with the problem, and have any realistic control over spawning, is to invest the time into learning, configuring and using Just Another Spawner.

    Why on Earth are you still on 1.4.7? Or better question if you refuse to update for some reason why browse through all he 1.5.x mods drooling over new content and bugfixes you'll only get by upgrading? I doubt you're going to have any success getting any mod developer to go back to modify their 1.4.7 code just for you.

    As you pointed out this would be an issue with Better Dungeons. Nothing the BoP team could change in their codebase to 'fix' it. You most likely did something wrong in your Better Dungeons config. If you look on the first page of the BD post there's a link to a page in the thread where someone was kind enough to list all the configs adding BoP biomes. Use that and things should work unless there's a recent bug in one of the newer versions.

    This has been covered dozens of times. You're using an older config with a newer version of BoP. Delete the BoP config file (make a backup/copy first just in case something else breaks) and the problem will go away.

    No there's not. I encountered a similar issue with Dr. Zhark's spawner a while back as well. The problem you're experiencing is due to the fact that Dr. Zhark's custom spawner is inexcusably buggy at the moment considering it's a requirement to use MoC. It doesn't seem to have 'control' over some mods' spawning and there was at least one bug where some mods' mobs couldn't be made to spawn at all without a manual workaround that wasn't at all obvious.

    I invested quite some time last weekend installing and configuring Just Another Spawner (finally) and now use it with CMS disabled and let JAS do the work. Happy that I did and in the end it was worth the effort because it potentially gives you a lot more control in tweaking spawning on your world/server just how you'd like.

    All that said I think there is a bug with jungle spider spawning somewhere in BoP because I've seen them in what I consider to be inappropriate biomes w/o using a spawner. But Dr. Zhark's spawner seemed to be what also caused massive amounts of spawn rates to the point there would be no other kinds of mobs but jungle spiders in some biomes no matter how you messed with the spawn configs.
