posted a message on Ambiotic [v1.2.0]: MAtmos Inspired Ambient Sound Engine

    Hello GraphicH!

I wanted to do a bit of a review of your mod and give you a full outside opinion. I've been here since 0.0.1 and I'm rather surprised to see how quickly this mod had developed. At first I kept my mouth shut and decided to let the mod grow a bit before I said anything about it since it has a TON of potential. Yet, it seems to be growing into a fine mod and I'd love to give you my thoughts. I don't know how many people have done this (nor do I care), any review is a good one, (That is, if they keep bias out of it and actually attempt to help instead of bicker.)

I understand that it is still a Work in Progress, but needless to say, It's on its way to being popular. As noted by you, it was inspired by MAtmos and it certainly feels that way. People love MAtmos, yet it proved to be rather difficult. Yes, it could be easily installed and sent up and running, but for those who use modpacks such as FTB and Technic find a bit of trouble in getting the two (the launcher and MAtmos) to merge and still use the trouble-shooting launchers that these two offer. This is what made MAtmos so difficult.

Yet your mod offers a lot of what MAtmos offers and the only thing someone needs to do is plop it in the mods folder.

Not only this, you stay interactive with your users and reply to their comments and problems immediately, quickly letting out new releases and keeping people very satisfied. This is wonderful and I encourage you to continue this. (Though, just a piece of advice, don't leave this mod alone for too long. You may end up loosing interest and stop working on it altogether, and I believe this mod is something people really need.)

    Now...

On to the darker side of this post. This is all opinionated and you can easily turn a blind eye to it, that's up to you. I'm leaving my thoughts here in case you want them, though. If someone acquires too may terrific, non-troubleshooting reviews, it doesn't help them to see flaws or kinks in their work... (I'm a writer and I know this personally.) Though, as said, turn a blind eye to this if you feel.

MAtmos is a wonderful mod, it was the first of it's kind as well. A mod that adds ambiance and make Minecraft more beautiful and appealing with natural sounds and realistic measures. Though, it's hit a few bumps lately, people are still attempting to keep it going and are still working on it.

    That being said.

I understand that this is still a Work in Progress and that MAtmos is your source of inspiration. And this mod is a blessing in the area of simplicity. Yet, at first glance (when someone downloads this mod and puts it in for the first time) people have a big wave of MAtmos. Yes, there are small differences, but all together, the two mods sound the same. This isn't much of a problem for the mod users, since they like whats in front of them and enjoy the simplicity of this mod. Though, in terms of MAtmos, if you can throw in something really unique before your mod becomes really popular, it'll make it "yours". Otherwise, you may get a lot of MAtmos copycat messages (because people are too idiotic and naive at times).

The area of "ambiance" can be shared by mod developers, but they should have something that they can call uniquely "theirs" in their mods. For MAtmos, they were the first major mod in the "ambiance" area, so they don't have anything "theirs" because nobody else has stepped foot in this area and attempted to claim a piece of it. They are unique because they were there first.

My advice is to see what you can throw in that is your own. Something that has never been seen in MAtmos. So you have something to hold before the people who call you a MAtmos copycat.

I hope this helps. Everyone needs a nice, long review at times... Surprisingly, this took an hour to write... I usually don't have a problem with words.

posted a message on Minecraft Journal Links (With a small description)

Heheh, I have a journal, but it's in my actual minecraft so I can't send it... Plus, the minecraft I'm playing is a hardcore modpack (EPiCCRAFT if you're curious.)..

(If you're curious how I started[/i] with a journal, I used the StartingInventory mod....)

If there's a way to turn my minecraft book into a notepad file, I could send it, but.... I dunno.

I record at least one entry every minecraft day, I've just completed day ten now and it's filled my first journal to fifty pages. (Luckily I had thought of this ahead of time and gathered the items I needed for a second book.)

Any way of transferring MC books to Notepad. (I've edited my first book & Quill into and actual book...)

posted a message on DaftPVF's Mods (Treecapitator, CrystalWing, StartingInv, FloatingRuins)
So... Uhh... Slight problem and I've looked around and can't find a solution... (I was looking for HOURS... Trust me, contacting the mod developer and/or the forum is a last ditch option)

I am using two of the mods (1.7.10):

    bspkrsCore
    Treecapitator...

    The problem?

When I put the two files in the mod folder and start the game, it'll say that I need Forge [version here]
Even after I update to the forge version it says, I get the same crash.

After a bit of investigating, I realized that upon startup, bspkrsCore randomly gets deleted... I'm not sure why... It just happens.
Or at least, that what I thought...
Upon even FURTHER research... I found that bspkrsCore transported itself into 1.7.10 mod folder created by Chickenbone's mods... Which is supposed to happen apparently?

It's not really a crash... It's almost as if I just missed a coremod and Minecraft is telling me which I need. There's o crash report because technically, it's not a crash.

    Possible Help?
    Solutions?

    I am using other mods,

    All mods used are:

Alrighty... Let's get this filled out.

    In-game name: Enderdeman
    Age: 17 (Since September)
What got you interested in the server: I was looking around for a small server that I wouldn't have much trouble with... Jerks are Jerks. This server seems friendly, so I decided to fill out this application... Uhm... Yeah
Questions or comments about server: I can't say much about the server besides the fact that you seemed to be putting a lot of effort into keeping it Player friendly. If I enjoy it enough, I may do some YouTube recording of my time on it. (With your permission of course, Euthorix)
    ------------------------------------------------
Solo/Group: This usually changes depending on my mood... But usually I'm rather solo, it's just nice to have people to talk to while I do my Minecraft thing.
PvP/Non-PvP: I'm usually not a PvP type of person, I tend to just enjoy being nice to people, but I'll give someone a punch to get their attention if I can't get any other way. (And yes, a punch with a fist, nothing else.) I'm an okay fighter in Minecraft but I know how to use a bit of trickery when fighting and make it so I have an upper hand(potions are lovely aren't they?). I usually only tend to fight if it's a friendly game of PvP.
Leader/Follower: I'm mostly a leader. Reason being, I am very touchy about how I play Minecraft and things have to be in a specific manner, so I can be rather controlling. That's the bad side... I'm anal... The good side is, I enjoy being the one to help people get to know the game and I'll lead them in the right path if they're confused. Plus, even though I'm anal about things, I know how to keep my mouth shut and let people do their thing. Yet, I do know how to follow and learn from others if they have something worthwhile to teach me.
Giving/Receiving: Once again, a bit of both. I tend to be a hoarding player, I can't afford to throw anything away and will take what anyone gives me, but I am more than willing to share my diamonds and resources with others (If I have extras, that is. If I'm preparing to make a chestplate and I have nine diamonds, sure I'll give you one! But if I have eight, sorry, out of luck.)

About me: Well, I live in the U.S and my name is Hood (Yes, odd, I know, but that's my name.). I am a 17 year old gay male whom tends to get along with everyone. I can't stand violence and will be more than willing to talk things out instead... But don't mistake my kindness for weakness, I've been playing Minecraft for a few years now and I know almost all of the nooks and crannies, while I hate violence, I have no problem with revenge and will kill you if you kill me (that is, without my permission.) When it comes down to it, I will tell you things how they are and will not beat around the bush unless it'll cause unwanted conflict. Uhmm... I dunno if I missed anything else you may want to know...

Well, that's my little application! Good day to you!

Your real name? (If you want): Hood (yes that is my real name)

    Your PSN name?: Enderdeman

Mic or not?: Why, yes, I do so happen to have a mic.

How much you are active?: nearly every day, but I sometimes take a few day break from the ps3

Why you are here?: Hmmm, not sure to be honest. I guess I just want to try something different.

    Age: 17 (Just FYI)

Am I a moron?: I don't like to think so. I know my way around Minecraft and I've been playing for a few years now. I tend to be rather mature. But, hey thats just my opinion.
