Another species of that thing? I hope not. A question concerning them both. Which was the largest one? Everyone says differently and it seems to be a matter of opinion rather than objective facts.

It seems my information was slightly out of date.

Basically, originally, the both Quetz and Hatzegoptrix were much more similar to each other than they were to any of the other members of Azhdarchidae, leading to paleontologists believing they might be one in the same (After all, we believe Quetz could have crossed the oceans due to its size and speed and flight time) but apparently the neck and jaw of Hatzegoptrix are different enough from the Quetz skull specimen we do have that they are still seperate.

David is known for his flowery, overly-extravagant language, and he probably just means Daniels will be the new "doner" for test subjects (taking her eggs). Also Ridley said he's totally ignoring the later films and only building up to the original, which means no queens/hives.

Another thing Ridley said is he wants to gradually re-introduce Giger's aesthetic, and Giger didn't make the queen or had any input in anything related to Aliens/hives/queens. Giger's idea on how the eggs were made was by a large, globular machine attached to a wall, no central Trex-triceratops-termite. But I would love to see Giger's concept be re-introduced into the series, since personally I feel queens/hiveminds/etc are heavily overdone nowadays, almost every single space-based franchise has one, whereas Giger's idea was truly unnerving and much more efficient, and actually felt well, alien. It also seems like something a synthetic would decide to make-a machine that produces the products, much like how David himself was made.

Also its just best to take all bonus material with a grain of salt, as the Prometheus bluray mentioned the derelict on Lv-426 and Tyrell corp from Blade Runner. The bonus material is almost always just fan service and should not be assumed as canon unless an actual movie refers to it.

I understand your point, but there is another factor involved. For all we know, Fox could have forced Ridley into a corner. Something like "Either have a Queen in your next film or we are never going to greenlight another Alien film from you. We'll finish these prequals without you. Maybe give the last one to the guy who was supposed to make an Alien 5."

However, your explanation doesn't make much sense when you consider the fact that he doesn't say that Shaw was his Queen. Since it's pretty obvious that Shaw was the "doner" for the first eggs, why would he say that Shaw was supposed to be his Queen, but ended up not being it?

I take anything with a grain of salt unless confirmed by the person in charge, which in this case would be either Fox or Ridley, though I question the latter's state of mind at the moment.

You think they should reboot the documentary series with the erroneous bits fixed? Would be just as exciting, but more accurate as well.

Edit: Off topic, I have a weird occurrence right now. Got an enderman that aggroed on me one night, I used creative to jump in some water, and after returning to survival, he won't stop following me. I think he's my new friend, but I'm a bit unsure. Also, endermen now remind me of that crazy robot from Futurama. Stop lookin' at me! HIIIII YAAYAAYAYAYAAA!

Unfortunately, it costs too much money to worry about it and it would be a much less "cool" documentary.

Hey I just wanted to confirm, is this mod still planned to come out on 1.10? A lot of mods updating these days have skipped straight to 1.11, and I really was hoping to include this in my 1.10 modpack.

As far as I am aware of, we are going to 1.10.

Yes, but the actual group of Dinosauria, i.e. all dinosaurs existing before the K.T. extinction event, were obliterated 65 mya. Birds, on the other hand, were just evolving during the late Cretaceous and survived, existing to this day. All birds share the current group known as Avis.

You don't seem to get it.

Avis is under Dinosauria, meaning that Avis is a part of Dinosauria, which means that Dinosauria cannot be an extinct group if a lineage of it, in this case Avis, still exists.

That is why no one in the scientific community says Dinosaurs are extinct, they say all Non-avian Dinosaurs are extinct.

So are you implying that Saurian is superior to sources like Wikipedia, National Geographic, Museums not affiliated with their efforts, Smithsonian, and practically any other Institute of Higher Education, as well as any other source of dinosaur related information? While it may be a good point that it is endorsed by well known paleontologists, the other percentage of paleontologists and the general public are, will, or may be affiliated with other sources. I am still skeptical that Saurian is the absolute superior in dinosaur education. I respect your knowledge and opinions, as they are more than likely more reasonable than mine, but I cannot process that a video game would outclass any other source of information.

Well, the answer is yes to all of that. The first three are easy, Saurian uses the references they use to get the information, so they are on par, if not greater, than those sources. In fact, its more accurate than most Documentaries.

Also, Wikipedia is not a good source at all for information, anyone can change the information at any time.

Basically, when they say that the only way to be more accurate is to actually go back in time and go to the Hell Creek area, its not an exaggeration.

Do you know what is rather interesting that I just found out?

Apparently, in 2014, they discovered a Tyrannosaurid Trackway that shows that the predators hunted in group in Canada.

Here's the paper that I found on it.

well... of course it wouldn't do it in the wild, but that's how they defeated i-rex... they knocked it into/near the mosasaurus exhibit. it then jumped half-way onto land and ate it. sarcosuchus could do that, and so could Mosasaurus

This isn't a Jurassic Park Mod, first off, and secondly, Mosasaurus would have beached itself if it tried that stunt in reality.

Meaning that trying that stunt should have made the Mosasaurus stuck on land, which would have eventually killed the animal.

And it is blatantly said in Jurassic World that none of the animals are how they would have looked in reality. The Mosasaurus in Jurassic World most likely had Crocodilian DNA in it, something a Real Mosasaurus would not have.

Because someone wanted to suggest the anatomical monstrosities from it.

Except for the fact that they just said they wanted the animal, most of which (Not including the Boss animals) have Paleontological counterparts, and did not specifically say they wanted the animal from ARK.

In fact, the only non-boss animal that is completely made up is the Direbear, and some could say that it was based off of the Short Faced Bear or the Cave Bear.
