I spent at least 6 hours making this. It's a map with a small town that is a great foundation in my eyes.
I started to make a story but was too lazy to finish it before posting it here. Basically, you landed here expecting civilization, but instead what appears to be freshly built but abandoned group of houses. There is also a giant wall around it. That can't be good. After spending the night you explore the rest of the island a bit and find a what seems to be the sealed entrance of a cave. Things are looking worse. Later in the day, you find a stone house with supplies in it. Maybe whoever made this place lived there...
That's about as far as I got. This was originally supposed to be for survival multiplayer once it came out, but i decided it's too small. I think it will be really fun in single player anyways. I noticed some of the best caves ever, and the town happened to be built in a great location. Some of you may even find my secret caves.
Notch said himself it's tiles. Remember TILES not BLOCKS. The reason it goes up with chests probably has to do with the front face of the chest. I'll do some tesing.
I've noticed a lot of people asking about this and so decided to make a topic explaining them.
E: This stands for entities. An entity is basically anything that isn't a block or particle. This includes mobs, resources and items. I am unsure if it also includes the player.
P: This stands for particles. It includes splashes, bubbles, smoke, fireballs, rain, and a few more.
LT: This one is a bit different. It has to do with tiles not treasure as some people have said. I can't remember Notch's exact wording, but I believe it's Tiles Updating/Tiles Waiting for Update.
I expected to see something so i sat there and was like wtf? i thought this was supposed to be fast. Then i turned around. I had to double check that lava meant something becuase i didn't believe it was that fast
I've spawned under water and lava, underground far enough to be in stone, in a tree so that all parts of the tree were sticking out it was just missing the middle, and on the edge of a cliff. That's it so far.

But working next to water would be great, even if it did nothing to the water.

All of this was done by hand, so no map editing. I only used about 20 iron so that you guys would have as much materials as you needed.
Here's the map:

Tell me what you guys think. I may even do a better one on a larger map.

I'm still a little fuzzy on some parts.
