Was messing around with enchantments for the first time, on a survival mode server I spend a lot of time on nowadays, and got a diamond pick with Efficiency III (level 37 or something).

So I decided to strip-mine a few lava lakes, and built this thing:



Everything was mined manually. I collected 20 stacks of obsidian to build it. I still have about 2 stacks left, because my original calculations didn't include the windows.

I'm still unsure what to actually put inside it. There's currently a rough spiralling staircase in the center which I'll probably refine with netherbrick stairs (if my friend lets me borrow some from him), but for the rest it's still kinda empty. We already got a nice creepy netherbrick library, so it's kinda useless to put that in there, but I'll probably make a workspace for brewing potions in there somewhere... and maybe a netherportal.

Ok, so I was going to post this in the screenshots thread, but I realized I had too many pics and I wanted some comments anyway...so here goes:

I wanted to build a Turkish-style mosque, similar to the Hagia Sophia or the Blue Mosque, I tried to keep all the details, though in some ways I was restricted (for example, the height limit). I also didn't want to use any commands to create the shapes; in that manner at least I succeeded :tongue.gif:.

I started this on a SSP server but moved once my friend got up a creative server. One interesting challenge was that the server had mobs turned on, which turned out to be quite annoying.

PICS: I would appreciate if a mod could turn these into image tags before the thread dies. Thanks.

Interior: It's actually well-lit enough for mobs not to spawn; the butchering was just to kill the endermen that spawned on the roof during the night.
