Wow you are selfish and ungrateful. He works very hard on this game and deserves a break. You are just like those faggots who DDoS'd the site because of lack of updates.
I know my reply seems a little harsh, but you're being a bit of a douche and I'm in a shitty mood.
Awww.... am I being to mean?
Go cry about it
When he said use the edit button it means don't bump your stupid topic 5 times in a row. And don't lie and say your "fail" comment was necessary. You did it to bump your topic. Stop it.
lol

Actually there are 8 of you posts where the above poster is yourself.
That's 8 bumps.
You say you edited in the "you fail" part, yet you did'nt edit in the "This is why I'm PMSing" part?
I think you do not have a very good grasp on how a forum works or you just have'nt read the rules.
Good day sir.
lmao
@electrk: btw no more bumping or I will report you AGAIN
Glad to see you thought this completely unnecessary block through and actually gave a point to it.
Oh wait, you didn't....
Now, now, no need to be rude. There's two things being addressed here;
1) Use for redstone for people who aren't circuit junkies (and a compliment to lapis lazuli)
2) Possible use as a redstone-controlled light source.
I think it'd work fine, although architectural considerations might need to be made to use it nicely, such as putting paintings over it or using recessed lighting. Either way, it wouldn't be a bad idea.
A redstone-controlled light source is a good idea.
for all ores, when you make a 3x3 recipe with the ore, it creates a block... what about redstone???? how awesome would a red, shiny block be??? and maybe coal would be pretty cool too...
= redstone block = redstone

By the way Paradox, the way your logic is kinda like saying "There shouldn't be a mouse sensitivity option, we can just edit the minecraft.jar to change it ourselves. Or go to control panel or get some program to change it."
If he doesn't understand, I don't understand, since I understand, and don't know how you misunderstood him.
And if I don't understand, then you don't understand, he doesn't understand, but I understand, and you understand.
All right, this is what i interpret this idea to be;
A toggle that switches the grate from open, to closed, when powered with red stone. Here is a diagram:
:Indigo:=Water
:Red:=Powered Redstone Un-Powered Redstone
:stair:=Closed Mode
:_:=Open Mode
[]=Anything Else Above Water and Grate Level(Ground, stone, etc.)
:Glass:=Anything Else at, or Below Water and Grate Level
