I only get mildly sentimental when it comes to the old days of Minecraft. Two small things I miss though: The sounds that doors made when you opened them, I loved it and want it back :D. Also, I somewhat miss being able to quickly blast through dirt, wood, and other materials with a diamond pick.

It's a little square and plain, but I like it. I especially like your little fish tank :).

I too love these new blocks. Although, I'm really partial to new blocks when they're added because I'm really a builder at heart.

I was getting between 30-40 FPS when I was using the 1.7 Snapshots when I was getting between 100-110 FPS playing 1.6.4. When 1.7 was released I have been getting between 80-100 FPS. With these 1.8 Snapshots I'm getting 20-40 FPS. At this moment I'm not too worried though. I think Snapshots just hate my PC, and I'm sure things will improve when 1.8 is actually released. I don't think anyone should actually freak out and assume you won't be able to play Minecraft anymore until 1.8 is actually released.

EDIT: I just checked out the latest snapsot. I'm actually getting between 60-70 FPS which is nice. When generating a lot of chunks I'm getting between 30-40. My specs and settings in case anyone is interested:

Experience with minecraft servers?- Not a lot. I've played on my friend's server quite a bit, but he loses interest from time to time and the server is absent contstantly. I've tried out a few I've found on the forums and half of them have been a joke. I'm hoping to find a decent server with decent people because I'm sick of jumping into a new server and being bombarded with racial slurs and idiots.
How long have you been playing mineraft?- Started playing on the 360 when that came out in 2012. Got the PC version March 2013.
How often do you expect to play?- 4-5 days a week.
Rate yourself: Building- 8 (I like bigger projects, and using a variety of different materials. Building is where the bulk of my time is spent.)
Redstone- 4 (admittedly not the best. It feels daunting to me to make complex redstone contraptions. I'm interested in getting better though.)
Community Projects- 8 (In my friend's server I'm the resident builder. I build the majority of things on it without much help. I have built quite a few projects with other people on other servers and they've turned out well.)
Creativity- 9 (Probably my strong suit. I spend a good deal of time thinking up better structures than I've made previously. I've gotten a lot of compliments from friends on my builds.)
Tell us about the build you are most proud of- It was on the 360 version prior to the implementation of creative mode. It was a massive fortress comprised mostly of soul sand, netherrack, and stone. It took me weeks and many thousands of blocks to build. My friends all think it looks like a Mushroom Kingdom castle on Acid. It has weird towers jutting out of the side of the main tower and a crazy awesome foyer with a lot of foliage and waterfalls. I really wish I had a way of showing it off with some pics, but I'd hate to have to take pics of my TV with my phone.
Tell us a bit about your self- I work in a coffee shop and drink a good deal of it all day. I spend a lot of time with friends on the weekends partying and relaxing. I play video games... a lot. Mostly older games (like SNES and PSX games), although I've been getting more and more into PC gaming lately.

I find Sky obnoxious, I'm sorry for that.

I like Etho, Sethbling, YogscastSips, YogscastSjin, GenerikB, and VintageBeef.

I like CaptainSparkles but I don't really watch much of his videos because of the whole video feed in the top corner of him playing the game, it's distracting and pointless.

The game has been running great for me, usually between 60-80 FPS. Jungles are still laggy for me though.

I have a slightly worse laptop than you, and I also have Intel HD 4000. I not using optifine right now and I'm routinely getting between 70-80 FPS with a 32x32 texture pack. That laptop is certainly fine for playing minecraft.

I've found a few jungles in my world, however, it is really hard to find a mesa. They are a little too rare if you ask me.

Lovin' this update though. I played a lot on all the snapshots though so it's not significant, but I'm glad it's actually here now.

Why you are interested in joining: I've attempted to play on other servers and I immediately get called a whole slew of various racial slurrs as soon as I join (among other things). I suppose I just want to find a nice Vanilla survival server with more mature individuals.
