Recently the server that my friends and I play on became unvaliable as our hosting service(brohoster) went out of business. Luckily, we do have the map data and what not, but we now no longer have a server. Brohoster was awesome in that it was affordable with some pretty dang good performance. There is no way our group can give up minecraft, but we don't want to just randomly pick a server for the sake of just being able to play. I just wanted to get some advice about what my minecraft community viewed as both a reliable and affordable hosting service so that we can make the most informed decision possible.
I'm looking to start a server, and I was looking for cheap servers. When I came to this site: InvasionServers, they offer servers for less then 5 euro a month. My question is, are there good servers? Am I able to run a Bukkit server on it? Is it the same quality of the servers from MultiplayGameServers?
Pleas help me out,
Brent
In terms of RAM. I can match them for 2GB and/or beat them.
I have other "niches" I serve and these get the 1 GB RAM slots as those do not need the RAM. I send all my customers to that page. Do not worry as the Minecraft customers and the other customers are on different physical servers in the data center.
Many customers take advantage of being able to merge slots to take up more of the server and increase their RAM. This is so that you don't have to make 2 subscriptions for 2 slots. Instead, you'd buy the combined subscription which just charges you 40 Euros.
I charge in Euros because my that is what my host charges me.
EDIT: By slot, I don't mean PLAYER SLOT. I mean a slot on the server. I.e 1 VPS = 1 slot
May I ask if all of the above include managing my plugin capacity while having a large amount of members?
I just saw one of the posters hoster and it was 8gb for $200 holding 160slots that sounds amazing although i'm not really sure if 8gb can really do what it says.
PMing you and responding. By stacking 5 of my slots. You could get 10Gb for about 150 USD[actually 100 Euros]. We just blow the competition away. I'm even willing to do a benchmark.
