I tweeted pretty much the same idea to Dinnerbone a while ago. This would be really helpful for adventure maps. There could be more types of items such as projectiles a bows too though. Anyway, I support.
I think that said magic mushroom(maybe magic mushroom soup) should be used to brew a sort of potion, that when splashed on a pig gives it the 'scent' of the biome, which lasts until the effect runs out.
When the pig has the scent of the biome it would walk for 12-24 blocks before making a loud oink and some sniffing sounds before changing direction and searching again. It would also only search if the player was nearby(within 14 blocks) or on it's back(the downside to being on it's back for be a 50% increase of speed on the potions timer or a speed decrease on the pig), otherwise it would wander around within a short radius until the effect runs out. If the pig gets to water it will either swim or hop in a boat, which you can control by being on the pig on the boat somehow, going in the direction the pig's head is looking.
I propose the craft recipe for magic mushroom stew to be as follows:
X= Mushroom Soup, Y= Nether Wart

To brew the essence of mushrooms potion you must add the magic mushroom stew to a thick potion. The base length of it is 3:30, and can be extended to 7:00 with redstone dust. It's effect on players is that pigs automatically follow the player around, and zombie pigmen forget if they were agro'd to you(though they will still fight back if hit), which allows you to travel the nether relatively safely if you have accidentally hit a pigman recently. The splash potion lengths are 2:50 and 5:45.
Automatic things are generally frowned on. Although some kind of trained villager may be nice.
Maybe I should change the name, it's about as automatic as a furnace.
Though a trained villager does sound nice. But how would the person selling items get the input item back?
Alright, I'm not sure if this would fit Minecraft, but here goes(I'm also not sure if there has also been a thread for this, I did a quick search and nothing came up.)
My idea is quite simple, it would be a device that looks like a quartz villager head with emerald eyes, maybe some other details or a completely different look?
When opened it would act basically the same as a normal villager trading screen to other players, but the person who placed the block can change sell item, the buy item(maybe with extra slots, two buy items and two sell items?), the amount of those items, a small chest sized area for the items to sell, and another for the items gained from sales.
Other players can break it and get it's items but it takes as long as obsidian does when using a bare hand.
The intended use would be for community servers where players would set up shops to sell items to other players and adventure maps that where players can buy items.
I propose the crafting recipe to be like so. Q = Quartz Block, E = Emerald(or maybe emerald block?), C = Chest.

How would that work. Command blocks are activated by a Redstone pulse. Would the chat message have to be entered at the exact time the command block is pulsed? I like the idea but I don't know how it would work.
I'm not sure if this has been suggested before or even implemented into the mod, but would it be possible for mutant mobs to have a higher chance of dropping a head? For mobs that actually have a head.
Can anyone give me a Server.jar with the latest version of Forge on it? For some reason any server.jar I install forge on becomes corrupt when I put it on a server. Thank you.
Also, it seems generated structures spawn with huge Nodes. The desert temple I had had 843 aura in it. However it wasn't recharging to it's max of 847, and I'm not sure why. Also, can you post pics of what the different kinds of node look like, if there are any visual differences(dark, pure etc etc)
And having the node I use most underground means I don't have to worry about Wisps. Yay!
I'm guessing this has been suggested before but will there be something like a Thaumic Duplicator but using aspects? Place in the item you want to dupe, throw the aspects in a nearby Crucible or in the block, then right-click with a wand to dupe the item. The vis cost for it would depend on the item duped.
Maybe an Obsidian Golem that attacks monsters. Strong could do more damage, Speed, run and attack faster, Perception, detect mobs from further away and Smart, which could use certain ranged weapons(Wands, bows).
Also a sort of Golem Assistant? That would follow you around and act like a Logistics requester pipe for chests marked with it's colour?
Sorry if I didn't make make sense, I'm not the best with words.

By lots of wiring you mean a Button and the command block?
X=Command Block Y=Any Block Z=Button.
ZTX
Or any combination with the button and the command block touching the random block.

Now all we need is a Creeper in a Jar. It must be done.
