So a couple of us have been thinking of getting MoveCraft and making airships a focal point. In fact, we were also thinking of a bit farther technological, almost steam punk, theme. If you want to know more about the idea, check out the blog and share your opinions there (I hate having conversations on Minecraft forums, the features suck).
Proposed Server Rule: Declarations of War
(Party=City)
i. To declare war, you must inform an admin who will then make public posts both on forum and the declaring/declared parties.
ii. During war, all warring parties have the right to steal and grief the other party unless allied.
iii. A Defensive Pact can be formed with two parties. This means that if part "x" declares war on party "y" who has a Defensive Pact with party "z", then "z" automatically declares war on "x", allying with "y". [Please tell me if you can put this in simpler terms]
iv. A Defensive Pact is broken if the one of the parties within the Defensive Pact declares war.
v. A god can join in on any party's side at any time.
Also, I know that you're not supposed to give out items, but I died /spawn'ing when Ableton was griefed. All I lost was 3 iron ingots, ~2 stacks of netherrack, ~1/2 stack of glowstone, ~1/2 stack of soulsand, a stack of wood, and a sign. I know it isn't much but it still annoys me getting set back so far.
On Easter this year, I had released a Minecraft map collection through Megaupload. This morning, somebody asked me for the file and I made a note of it to send him it. Most of my files however got corrupted today. The Minecraft files did not survive. It is this person's birthday so you'd be helping not only me but this person by telling me:
Do you have a file of Dugg's Collection from Easter?
Just wanted to say that on my blog, I've been writing about my adventures in Avalon. On the newest blog, just cick the label at the bottom of it saying "Avalon Blogs" and it'll link you to the other blogs related to Avalon.
You can now make drawbridges and traps are plentiful. Maybe we could just leave it for Mount Avalon? Like have it so only the admin can use Craftbook and this way it actually makes Mount Avalon more mystical!
This is my whole idea on copycats and comparisons:
I have an idea. It's the letter A.
Bob takes letter A and changes it to look different but mean the same thing. He calls it B.
Charlie takes letter B and keeps using it over and over until he eventually just writes b.
Melissa adds the original A to b and makes Ab.
Ulrich finds these letters amusing so he developes a new letter with a new meaning called a.
Henry puts all the letters together and comes up with Aba.
We went from A to Aba with actually only two letters. A, B, b, and a were bolded, but B is the same as A and b is a variation on B. So there's actually only A and a yet the final product has something that none of them has. Who is the copycat?
Nobody. I hate using the word because actually, everybody is, but the denotation that it's a bad thing is wrong. Ideas spawn from ideas- Star Wars uses ideas from the Illiad and Digimon uses ideas from Pokemon. Cthulu didn't just pop into existence.
Therefore, Terraria and Minecraft are different. Everything is.
I just wrote a blog about this whole ordeal, so if you think that being able to read my blog that took hours to write and design altogether isn't worth five seconds, then please don't click the signature.
However, if you don't think that I'm a slave-driving theif then go right ahead.
Yes, Steven, but back then you didn't have websites that could provide revenue. Now people are saying "Well, I'm putting my time into this, and I like doing this, but" and here's the thing, "this won't be paying my rent/bills/tuition, etc."
If you think it's wrong for people to get paid (which requires that there's a customer which there ISN'T- the downloader still gets the mod for FREE and they should be grateful) for their "crap" work, then tell me this: why would you click the link if it was for something crappy? If people didn't want rocket launchers, they wouldn't click the link.
Is it not a donation? Are you giving them your money for a mod? No. You have to wait five seconds. I hate using the word grateful, but listen:
People are putting their effort into a game.
They decided they wanted more.
They modded it.
Then they released it for EVERYONE to download it.
Now, they're asking for five seconds of your time so they can earn less than a cent. If you're mad at that, then don't download mods.
