UPDATE
So, no one under the rank of Owner can build or break outside of spawn without the help of OP. Is there a essential I need to add?
Have you added all of the essentials plugins it came with when you extracted it? Did you setup group manager correctly, and gave everyone permissions that MineralsofMinecraft gave to you?
I'm having trouble with port forwarding. I have done literally everything to try and port forward to work. I have a Belkin router, Model: F9K1002v3 and I've followed the port forward directions many times from portforward.com I have a static IP that i have set up as well. I'm trying to make a minecraft server so me and someone in my house can play on. It is currently set up one Modem upstairs, his computer is directly connected to the modem, while mine runs all the way down stairs to a router (so i can plug my xbox and computer in at the same time). I have even allowed both TCP and UDP port 25565 in the router, and along with the advanced settings in my PC firewall. I run my minecraft server and it works perfectly fine and I can play on it by myself but no one else can join me. I've literally done everything i can to set it up right and I'm not sure whats wrong, if someone can help that would be awesome.
Thank you.
Since you are both using the same router, I think its possible he can use localhost to connect to the server as well as you. If it doesn't, then you need to go to CMD > ipconfig > and put in your ipv4 address which can sometimes change. (Basically just port foward again but change your few settings to the new ipv4 address if it has changed.)
I have tried restarting the game, server, and computer a few times and no good.
Try using localhost to connect to your server, you may have a problem connecting to your own IP but sometimes other people wont. Make sure others can connect, but you can connect using localhost.
If you already own a domain you can create a sub-domain at no extra cost. You just need to update the SRV record thought the control panel of the website which you bought the domain from.
This is not true. Port 25565 is the default port on which Minecraft runs on, if you type in an ip address without specifying a port it will default to the default port of 25565. If you choose to run your Minecraft on a different port then you will need to specify which port the server is running on by either adding :<port number> or through making your domain name point to that ip address and port.
To change the port you change the 'server-port=' option in the server.properties to any number between 1 and 65535. Check that no other services are running on that port before using that port. The best option is to use a port that is close to the default Minecraft port, such as 25567, as that is unlikely to be used by anything else.
I just answered this question yesterday, there is no need to keep it going. The problem is resolved.
I don't know how this is even possible, I have tried it before and it doesn't do anything. If a lot of people were experiencing this problem, then someone may have posted by now.
Have you tried the command and add essentials_build to newbies? it will allow them to build but give them some permissions as the next rank up. It will most likely work.
Ok, so i played on a server called nebulacraft (milkyway.nebulacraft.org) and i always played on it and i got banned a long time ago, i deleted the server and then they unbanned me later, then i created the server again so i can play on it again and it doesent work! please help ;_; ive looked allover the internet to fix this problem for months and i couldnt find anything ( im also uneducated in port forwards, backups, and saves. please help and if pertains to something i dont understand, please make a tutorial or a link to one. PLLLEEEAAASSEEEE! TY FOR HELPING. http://www.nebulacraft.org
I HAVE FOUND THE SOLUTION! The server is out-dated and you cannot connect to it, in 1.7.2 the list doesn't show if a server is out-dated or not.
The other ranks work but this is the only one that doesnt. The plugin isnt 1.7.
Give me a list of all your plugins, and there might be a problem with the inheritance.
Try the following in your server:
/mangaddp Newbie essentials_builder
I was wondering how many people can a Minecraft client withstand. I want to one day make a large ( Very Large) MMORPG server that can withstand 2000+ people with multiply worlds and tons of plugin and mod in it. I want make a game out of Minecraft. (Since I can't create games yet) I want make a game as big as WoW in Minecraft. I know this is going require multiply servers to pull off.
You can always find a big name host, and get a custom deal with them which would probably cost a lot of money. Just ask a minecraft hosting provider.
So your using groupmanager... are you using it for 1.7.2? It looks like they are allowed to build, but is there any other plugins you have that might prevent them from building?

Might I ask, are you running a server hosting service.. like a professional business, or is this from your home computer?
