Anything else we should know about?: i have been a beta tester before on many servers so i know lots of common bugs
Notice: We are in need of Beta Testers and Builders! Please apply accordingly!
Daedalas is currently looking for Beta testers and Builders. The Beta will be a short period of time where testing will take place to ensure that all plugins are in working order, appropriate areas are secured, and other such duties. Simultaneously, I am looking for those who may like to build official server-sanctioned projects, including a medium/large-sized spawn, arenas, and other common server structures. Should you be accepted, you will receive a private message from only me, here on the forums (that way you do not have to give out contact information to the entire MC forums). Special note to those who wish to become staff: those who are Beta Testers have a greater chance of becoming Helpers and Moderators when the server goes live, should they meet the requirements when the applications are opened, due to the fact that they will have an idea of how the server works when new people arrive.
Beta Testers
Description & Requirements
Description: As a Beta Tester for Legends of Daedalas, you will have the pleasure of playing on the server as a normal player before its release. Your goals will be to play as normal players and to sniff out possible kinks, glitches, and/or loopholes in the game, as well as critiquing the game itself. Those who are Beta Testers and continue to play after the release will receive a Thank-You package from the Dev team, as well as have a much greater chance of becoming a player helper (if they so wish to apply). These players will receive recognition at the spawn point for all the glory. Age: 12+ Minecraft knowledge: Intermediate Server administration experience: Not required but highly preferred
Builders
Description & Requirements
Description: Builders in Legends of Daedalas will assist or lead any projects that require building large buildings or other similar structures. The idea will be to have main projects follow a similar palette within certain areas, as to keep everything looking well, so creativity will be required. These players will have recognition in various ways, depending on the project.
Age: 12+ Building Experience: Extensive. Must show proof of work in the application, such as videos and/or pictures to cross-reference. WorldEdit and/or VoxelSniper experience: Highly preferred.

Many routers, especially Comcast in particular, have the defaults on the router themselves. I've set up many routers in my days, and I've never known anyone to ask me to change the username and password of the router from the default, even if I had asked them if they wanted it - so try with the defaults (the above post is correct, admin/admin and admin/password is the most common two).
Hamachi.. going back to my RSPS days. Don't do Hamachi. Ever.
Well change the -xms back to 1024m. That is the minimum, and you're basically forcing your game to run that much RAM at all times. That should solve some of your problems. Every server is going to skip some ticks, unless you're on a host. Don't worry about it unless it's constant and repeating.
Also, be careful you don't dedicate too much RAM to your server, otherwise your game could be using up too much, causing the confusion. Maybe try running it on one computer and the game on another, and see if that helps. Be sure to have as little running on the same computer with the server as possible.
I think you should lower the minimum to 1024MB, only because that's what the default for the MC server is and you don't want to cause any issues between the two (I'd go for 1023 or something smaller just to be on the safe side).
I would always recommend the SSD, though it doesn't matter as much as the RAM.
I think that users may have suggested not running the server via an administrator on the chance of someone gaining access to the server and limiting the access they'll have. I'm not sure that running it on a standard profile versus an administrator would change anything, so that is entirely your call.
I always tack on GriefPrevention to the above pack. Not only is the claims system nice, but the ability to see all the private messages and what players say on signs is just absolutely perfect from an administrative stand point. ChatEx is also needed with PeX to make the prefixes and suffixes work!
Negative. The server IP remains empty. Port should be forwarded from your router to the Internal IP address of the computer running the server. Firewall should either be off or the port should be opened to all traffic in or out, TCP/UDP. Then run the server. Check the port with a port checker, and then use your external IP address to test if its online in Minecraft (In my multiplayer screen I have 2 servers, one for 0.0.0.0 so that everything is quick, and another with my external IP to make sure others can see my server)

This is normal
Make a customized world with 1 layer of grass blocks, then just break the grass as he did and put glass. (Alternately, just do a layer of glass).
LOL!

Change the gamemode of a player to "a" (Yes, I'm serious, and no, its not adventure mode) and put him in any cage you want.

I thought there was something wrong with essentials chat? I can't remember what specifically so I may be wrong on that.

Change the -xmx back to its original number. In my experience, changing it always does more harm than good.

Why on earth would a host delete back-up files?
