I recently port-forwarded my server and still my friend cannot connect; it says connection refused.
I went on to those port checking websites and it's telling me that my port is closed when I have indeed forwarded my port.
I've looked this up all over the web and the most common answer is that my firewall is blocking it. Well, my firewall is turned off and still the port is closed.
I even payed $20 for a port forwarding service to do it for me and still no luck.
I apologize before-hand, I have limited knowledge in this but I so badly want to play Minecraft with my friend it is all I have to look forward to.
I am on a Mac computer btw, and I can post any information when requested.
Yesterday, for the first time, I got a server for my roommate and I to play on the same network together. Everything worked out fine, he put in the right IP and we played minecraft for many hours. Today, I can still join fine, but he cannot. It says it can't connect to the server and he gets this: io.netty.channel.ConnectTimeoutException: connection timed out. We are both still connected to the same wifi, and it's up on both sides. Both of our firewalls are turned off and he types in the correct IP. Again, I can join fine. I tried restarting the server and my computer a couple times to no avail.
Please help! We built such a sick map, it's so cool looks like something out of LOTR. Please help
