So in 1.9 Pre 3 the stupid bed rock emits a glowing blackness.. and the slimes finder does not work with it(endless someone says otherwise).
Guys is it possible to find them without obviousy spelunking through every cave
The same way you were supposed to find them before.
I'd suggest going down and clearing out a large area at 13-16Y, you'll get a pile of diamonds, gold, and more likely than not find a slime spawning chunk.
Not a fan of that skin, looks like it was done in paint...
It's the first version of a greyscale texture. It probably could have been done in paint, the whole game could have been, the blocks are only 16^2, what were you expecting?
all cauldrons are used for is filling it up with water and filling glass bottles up with it. isnt it better to just have an infinite water scource? i really dont get the point
At least they do something. He could have just removed them from the game entirely when the potion stand was made instead, but left the cauldron in for aesthetic use.
Bah he hacked in that one eye he used after the first poofed. The eyes have a small % chanse of vanishing after being thrown... thats what happened to his, so he hacked one back in. He could have given himself as many as he needed :tongue.gif:
Yeah. He didn't for a couple possible reasons: it's Notch's baby and he's going to let him give the big reveal; or it isn't done / doesn't work, and couldn't show it to us if he wanted to.
I can't find any big open area with a few trees, it's always MASSIVE desert, MASSIVE ocean with NOTHING in it, medium sized overly forested area, and medium sized swamp, and occasional big mountain, all of which there are holes everywhere. Not to mention all of the grass is dull and dark looking everywhere. If you look at an alpha world then look at a beta 1.9 world you will be disappointed, or at least I am. The worlds were brighter, and less offensive to the eyes.
and there's no islands FFS.
I'll start with that last part ... islands can actually exist now because the bodies of water are large enough to make them physically possible, and there are lots of them.
I disagree with everything else you said too. Sure, the grass used to be brighter in the past, it was practically cliche "radioactive" green. The new tones are much more realistic and aesthetically pleasing.
So I was riding my boat around next to a mushroom biome when I came across ...
I'd guess there's a cave under the water, and the sand/gravel collapsed into it. I've never seen pockets of air in the water, but I've seen plenty of holes in the ocean floor.
why did they take the savannah biome out, it was like the best place to build. it had flat grass and a few trees to keep you alive. now if you want flat grass you have to go to the plains biome, which absolutely sucks, it is a pain in the ass to get all of the wildgrass out of there and it looks very ugly..i miss you=(
I never really saw a reason to have Savannah and Grasslands, the only difference was the color of the grass. It was probably removed because of that redundancy to make room for Swamp and Mushroom.
... i just find it extremely likely its going to be for a skylands portal mainly because makeing it is differnt than the ender portal.
There is no "air portal". The portal seen in Jeb's livestream is where the old placeholder used to be, and the new graphics are extremely Ender themed. Nowhere did anyone make an "air portal" you keep blathering on about.
Notch made it very clear that the new dimension will be called Ender on reddit, and Jeb showed us where it is.
Hey all, I'm just wondering if anyone knows whether the terrain generator is going to be changed yet again after this third pre-release. My server is itching to get our old style of gameplay back up on it's feet, and we've been waiting until we don't have to generate a new world every damn release.
Anyone know?
It is highly unlikely we have the final version of the terrain generator. For reasons ranging from Mountain and Ocean being barren, to Swamp color transitions and climate bugs.
As i was playing 1.9 pre 3, I noticed one of the many new things, Cauldrons. I played around with them until I found a use, if you put a bucket of water in there, you can get 3 buckets out of the cauldron. The reason I am posting this is because I am 99.9% sure infinite sources will be patched due to this replacement. Disuss
Eliminating the normal creation of water sources would be ridiculous. They'll probably leave cauldrons in for aesthetic use, until(if) they come up with some new use for them.
I didn't even bother to read your wall of text. I much prefer the release schedule of 1.9 over that of 1.8. They each took/will take months for completion, but we see the bits and steps in 1.9.

Cool video, it would be interesting to see some variations on the idea. How is Brick not on the no-move list?
Endermen are much better now, I don't notice as much annoying block moving, and they're actually dangerous opponents.

It is consumed when making enchantments.

People with common sense.

When it will change is entirely unknown.
