posted a message on The skeleton to stray change was implemented, yay

Powder Snow – Official Minecraft Wiki (fandom.com)

Just expressing my joy that skeletons now have a way to convert to strays, to be on parity with husks, zombies, and drowned.

(I originally suggested water in cold biomes do this, but powdered snow makes more sense).

    https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/minecraft_gamepedia/images/b/bb/Skeleton_become_Stray.gif/revision/latest/scale-to-width-down/180?cb=20210405095853

I guess that is good that skeletons can change to strays now like how zombies change to husks or drowned.

The problem is cracked blackstone bricks don't make sense, because cracks on a black surface would be very hard to distinguish unless there were large enough gaps in between the fault lines. So it makes me wonder why Mojang bothered with that variant.

I'd rather have the darker texture and normal blackstone bricks, instead of the improper dark grayish color they have now.

The reason why cracks are noticed visually on solid objects is because of the color and texture difference, or the shadows (or light) from in between.

If cracks had the exact same colour as the object they existed on, they would be invisible. Cracks can be masked by something as simple as a paint-job in real life.

Ya, that’s why I don’t use cracked blackstone like ever. They should have found a better way to add the cracks in blackstone.

    Quote from Thawazp»

How about something like diamond or even cooler obsidian tipped since in real life obby can be sharper than steel (for a single use) making it perfect for something like an arrow or maybe netherite arrows with added knockback and damage could be a whole set of pretty cool stuff though some of it does cross ver redundancy wise with potion tipped arrows since stuff like harming is basically a flat dmg buff unless you can make these variants also potion arrows which might be too much balance wise. Another thing that should maybe be considered is something like a graphite bow or some other upgrade for bows and crossbows as it’s weird that all other tools get more durable and long lasting but bows stay as wood and last way less even with unbreaking could even use the wood variants we have to make it possibly a warped wood bow or crimson could be the upgrade path over overworld woods and even they could have different levels like dark oak or birch over regular they sorely need some kind of durability buff. It could even be something like dark oak last longer but charges longer too or birch last shorter but does more dmg etc with nether woods being the strongest variants maybe one fires fastest and most damage the other last longest and most range just a few ideas. ps. Wouldn’t it be so sick having a red bow or blue or whitish from birch etc or maybe even dyed bows

That actually sounds like something they should add in 1.18. These special arrows would be stronger than normal arrows, but at a cost. Now I don't have to spend all of my diamonds on massive diamond pyramids for beacons. Don't ask, I had a lot of diamonds.

posted a message on I love survival.

I also prefer survival to creative. Once you get good at PvP and survive the first few nights. The rest of the game is relatively easy. I created two creative worlds because I really didn't want to die. But when I joined my friend's realm, I found netherite in 3 days (my friend and I went hunting together and found it after bed mining and strip-mining)!

posted a message on Easyiest way to find bastion/s?

Ok so first, keep in mind that bastions only spawn in the Nether Wastes, Soul Sand Valley, Warped Forest, and Crimson Forest biomes. If you can't find it immediately, keep exploring in those biomes until you find it. Just keep in mind that some bastion spawns are different from other seeds. The same applies to nether fortresses. Sometimes you build a nether portal that spawns you right in the middle of one. Other times, you end up searching for an hour for it. Hope this helps!

Something worth noting is not everyone has a high end monitor and monitors display colors differently

color errors happen, some people's monitors are not well calibrated etc,

and it helps to have the full RGB setting on.

IPS panels are generally better than TN panels, but bad IPS panels do exist, and if it has backlight bleed (common problem with older LCD types) it will not be good at generating proper black at all.

LED backlighting is always preferred, regardless of whether your display supports HDR or not.

    Yup, totally agree with you.

posted a message on Opinions on Bundle and Copper

Bundles are a great idea but it is way too hard to get when its suppose to solve early game inventory problems. I can beat the game before i can get 6 rabbit hide. Rabbits are hard to find, they're not that common, and hard to kill because they're fast and small. Even if you do kill 1 or 2 there is a high chance you wont get any rabbit hide. For that reason i think its reasonable to change the amount of rabbit hide from 6 to 3 and have the recipe shaped in a V with string in the middle or top of the V.

I understand your point with that and agree that if bundles are in fact supposed to solve early game storage problems, then the recipe should be a bit easier. However, it can also be used post-dragon death. For example, you can use it to store building blocks if you don't want to use shulker boxes. I would use it for MASSIVE building projects. That way I can store stacks of stone, without having to use my shulker boxes (which will be used for more useful purposes).

I'm very disappointed with the blackstone texture. It's not black at all. And darkslate or whatever you're calling it is going to be even lamer.

Here's an idea: scrap the current darkslate textures. Create new Blackstone textures that are actually properly black like coal blocks, then assign the old Blackstone textures to darkslate.

I honestly don't mind the blackstone textures at all. In my opinion, I think that they are pretty nice and go along well with spruce wood. I actually built my base on one of my friend's Minecraft realm out of blackstone bricks and spruce wood. (I forgot to take a picture of it before the realm shut down or I would have shown you. Also, dark slate (or deep slate) is a good choice for a texture that will replace cobblestone as the major block in caves below y=0. It is not too different from cobblestone, and not too similar to it too. That's just my opinion. But hey, that's just a game theory. A gAmE tHe- no I am not going to say that lol.

    Here is a quote from:

    https://minecraft.fandom.com/wiki/Wolf

"Tamed wolves at full health can be bred with any type of meat, including rotten flesh and raw chicken without causing the Hunger effect."

I could post the whole list of meats but uhm... Yes this still is the best use for rotten flesh imo.

    Now to your second point:

If you lower the prices of the cleric using zombification & zombie doctor (weakness-splashpot & goldapple), is it realy worth the effort?

Compare that to sticks (fletcher), wich can also be harvested fully automatically using bamboo or treefarms.

Or compare that to or iron trades. Even if you don't use ironfarms, the mined iron gives you a much better deal if the trading villager has been zombified and cured ect. And if you think ironfarms are game meachanic abuse, i could aslo make that statement about mobgrinders.

    Quote from Agtrigormortis»

You wouldn't exactly be getting enough emeralds to build large temples out of it in a short time though.

It would still be a grind, and emeralds were intended for currency mostly, although it isn't forbidden to use them for decoration.

I would advise using it for the outer layer, the part that is visible, and then using concrete or whatever other easy to obtain material for the internal structure of some fancy building you were putting together.

But it is doable to get a lot of emeralds with rotten flesh, it's just very time consuming which is something most people would find off putting.

And even if you only use emeralds for trading, you'd still be spending stacks of emeralds to get all the gear you want.

Both of you are very correct in saying that there are way more efficient methods of using your rotten flesh for grinding emeralds. What I am saying, is just a small use of rotten flesh. I am not trying to become a billionaire here. Just using my resources so I have space for useful stuff like flowers! (jk lol)

posted a message on Should rotten flesh be removed from the game?

In my opinion, it should not get removed as you can use it to feed wolves, instead of wasting your own steak.

    Quote from eiche_brutal»

    I agree.

I'm not saying that rotten flesh is useless. I mean you can:

    -eat it

    -trade it

    -breed an army of wolfes

For the eating and trading category, there are a lot more useful ressources. Most of them very easy to access.

But the contra remains, it takes inventory space.

Unless i play hardcore or visit an anarchy-server (wich spawn is fully griefed within 10.000 blocks) rotten flesh just isn't important to me at all.

I am mostly an overworld nomad. No matter how i play minecraft, rotten flesh becomes a nuisance to me in a very short time.

This is something personal between me, (my inventory) and rotten flesh.

As a nomad (who barely visits the end) i stick to coal (coalblock) as a trading ressource since you can mine it everywhere on the surface aswell as cave entrances.

Yes, you can also trade rotten flesh to clerics for PROFIT.

posted a message on Suggestion for minecraft 1.18

Maybe they should add more weapons and tools. I have heard that Minecraft developers are planning on 1.18 to be an update that focuses on adding more weapons and tools. Essentially a "Battle Update".

People are also saying that they might do an "End Update". Basically adding more blocks and possibly ores to the End.

    Quote from eiche_brutal»

That's quite a list of awful ideas, respect! But many of these whould be hard or impossible to fix.

Instead of an april fools prank, a sudden "release" of 1.17 (or later updates) would be fun. (With a ton of bugs of corse)

But how would the playerbase react? Well you shouldn't just update your beloved worlds to the newest snapshots without making backups...

I like the idea of a "sudden release" of 1.17. And when you load the version up, the game will just load a picture of a Minecraft-themed April Fools picture.
