It's likely a long term thing, and I feel Mojang is likely to reject this idea because it would not mesh well with some player styles.
Were you playing early 1.14 snapshots, where illager patrols were heavily armed and literally everywhere?
People felt persecuted and unsafe on the surface. That's not quite what the overworld feels like to me.
Nope, I remember I joined right as 1.15 got released. And because I didn't know how to switch versions, I couldn't play on any servers because they hadn't updated to 1.15 yet. So yeah, I am relatively new to "playing" the game. But I have watched Minecraft since 2015.
@allyourbasesaregone That idea is good in theory but sometimes, they spawn inside the fences and are just a general pain as they hide behind villagers so I can't even shoot them.
The problem is if we didn't lock Villagers away they would be constantly killed by raids, monsters and all sorts.
Of course it is possible to build a well illuminated sanctuary for them to survive in and provided you didn't kill Pillager captains a raid wouldn't start
But Pillagers themselves would still spawn and would still shoot them
it's no good having Villagers in your neighborhood if they're going to be killed, and being as defenceless and stupid as they are, it only makes matters worse.
this problem was made worse by the Pillager update, which necessitated caging Villagers inside of prisons to protect them.
before the Pillager update, all you needed was your village or town to have fences around it and for the inner parameter to be well lit.
True. This is one HUGE reason that people like me started to build villager farms in the corner of our bases. For example, have you seen the Technoblade's villager farm from his SMPEarth series? He built it in a corner of his palace that he filled up with fanart.
It's definitely something that would vary from person to person, which is why I'm glad that the game is flexible and offers multiple solutions to most problems.
Totally! That is the entire reason I started to play Minecraft. If I was feeling like I could do some work, I can farm on my survival world. If I feel like fighting, I log on to Hypixel to break beds and increase meaningless stats that increase my ego (lol).
I feel you. Some people call me 'cruel' ( ) for locking up villagers until they are safe, something I did a lot especially before 1.14 with its whole versatile job finding thing. I am trying to keep them alive to be useful here, but it's true that they can't farm or breed or build golems or work or even sleep sometimes if locked in their homes. It's just temporary until I 'safen' the place up...which can take a while sadly.
I don't view villages as my property exactly but I do take ownership of them and I try to defend every single village I find.
I am also known to be "a bit cruel" for taking villagers away from their homes and families and locking them in a building where they can only sleep, breed, and trade with me. Also, when I needed a wood source, I sort of "griefed" their homes. My reasoning was that since they are never going back, might as well use the wood for something, you know?
I can't do it as easily. Also, I'm not the type to destroy things or ragequit, I'd just get very sad and do something different.
Planning and safety for me is a lot better than taking needless risks sometimes.
Yes, strong armour reduces how often you die, but it makes the deaths much more of a setback.
I guess I just have that mindset because I play Hypixel Bedwars. Sometimes you gamble and lose, other times you gamble and clutch in an epic way. Also, I am not much of a planner, except for builds and PvP wars with my friends.
I don't know if this has been explained before, but why can people follow themselves on the Forums? Or is that just a feature that was intentionally added?
It's easier said than done, friend. I don't know exactly how the game saves and detects this stuff - apparently, leaves don't even 'bond' to the tree they spawn from or something like that.
It might actually be quite hard to implement at the code level, for all I know, that's all.
I totally understand that. It is super hard just to create a simple minigame with code so I know that it is really hard. Just thinking that it might be an idea that Mojang can start to work towards.
I would hesitate spending arrows on ghasts high in the sky, hard to aim, move fast, drops hard to reach.
I don't even care that much about ghasts unless either they are bugging me or I really need ghast tears (which is really rare). But yeah, most of the time ghast drops are super hard to reach. You have to travel the entire length of your massive mansion just to get there for the drops. And sometimes it dOeSn'T eVeN dRoP.
I never take high value armour to the End. I put in an end chest and whip it out for end cities. Or I put it in a chest with minecart for the dragon fight.
I just YOLO it and if I lose my stuff, no biggie. I might destroy my chair and smash my table in frustration but I know I can easily get those resources back.
Yes, I can't count how many times I've had to deal with this irritation.
Sometimes if a house is really far off the main cluster, I just build it its own wall until I get more time and resources. Or I board the house up with the villager inside and build the wall the next morning.
Maybe I should have boarded that random villager in his house until I finished that section of the wall... It certainly would have saved me time and worry over my tenants (the entire village was my property, MUAHAHAHAHAH!).
I like where these new ideas are going, however, if this structure can spawn randomly while having a boss tier mob or mobs, it had better not be super common. Monuments and mansions are prized because they are rare.
Like I said before, these should be as rarer than ocean monuments and woodland mansions because it has even better loot than those two structures. And that is if the loot in castle ruins is super OP (ie. netherite/diamond tools, Notch apples). Also, we are brainstorming a possible vampire mob that will spawn from four mob spawners in the basement and in the middle room. These vampires would also be super stealthy, lashing out in the silent dark at its victims.

@Agtrigormortis You just managed to identify the entire Minecraft community in a single post. :nssnss::nssnss:

That is one way how the AI could detect player bases.
