Ah, Notch said secure logins would be upcoming. Maybe that system's been bugged in its implementation. Just wait a bit, try every few minutes. Happens to me a lot today and I can still login fine.

Giving you that same error on MC.net? I just logged in and it's fine for me, but you must realize that it is sporadic in letting people through. Unless it literally says your password is wrong, you're not hacked. Even then, it may be a bug with the new server updates.

You're fine. What's happening is Notch migrating the servers to use the new launcher, and now it's counting the old launcher's login requests as redundant. Try logging in through Minecraft.net, that should work fine. The launcher, however, will probably not.

Yeah, there's no way the 360 could handle this game.

No PS3 on the other hand...

hah, xbox could handle it EASY.
my shitty laptop can run minecraft smoothly, but not a game like portal.
xbox can handle games WAAAAAY more advanced than the source engine...

Source has quite a lot of untapped and overlooked potential. Look at Dear Esther (the new version of the mod) or Portal 2. Dynamic liquids, woo!

Also, consoles are built for graphics, generally, not processing power or memory. 512MB would not be enough to run anything decently close to MC too well, it's probably the bare minimum to actually load a world, much less play.

Wonderful. I'd make a monument to it there.

    Seriously people,another thread?
Notch is migrating launchers to the new one :sleep.gif:

Yes and yes. Logging in by MC.NET itself is working fine, although I get that error with the launcher. Requests from the old launcher are being ignored because the servers are updating for the new one.

mine is already hacked into. QUICK! EMAIL NOTCH OR ANOTHER MOJANG EMPLOYEE!

Untrue, mistaken or some pretty odd timing. Try to get in using Minecraft.net rather than the launcher.

posted a message on [PROBLEM] Minecraft.net
Ah I think I know what's wrong. Notch is updating the servers to use the new launcher, so the old launcher's requests count as redundant. I can login from MC.net directly, but not the launcher. Thus, the problem MUST be in the launcher.
If someone is using the new one leaked from Notch's twitter, could you check how that version's holding up?

EDIT: I got in again now, maybe it's just a server bug? Stuff like that happens quite often.

posted a message on protect house from spiders and creepers
Well, what ya do is make a trench that's two deep (and filled with lava, if necessary) around your house for mobs. Spiders can be kept off by ridges around the top of your wall, like so:

    :cobblestone: :cobblestone:
    :cobblestone:
    :cobblestone:
    :cobblestone: :Spider:
    :soil: :grass: :grass: :grass:

The trench can be made into a mob trap with a little technical know-how as well.
