I like the idea. It would create a lot of new possibilities for traps that people can make. Gunpowder could be placed in an infinitely expansive line, unlike redstone which has a limit of 15, and each second/20 ticks it lights the adjacent gunpowder on fire if lit. You could also use a dispenser to light the gun powder with a flint and steel!

    Attention! ¡Atención! Aandacht! Achtung! Внимание!
    1. I'm looking for YouTubers that create item spotlights of items in both Vanilla Minecraft and for items added by mods. These spotlights should be short, sweet high quality videos that explain the most important things to know about that specific item/block. For an example video, please check out these very awesome videos. [], [] These videos would be linked to through WikiLink so depending on how many people use my mod, it could be a great source of views. If you are interested, please PM me!

    2. I also need help improving my information base for WikiLink. I have spent a while scouring the internet for mod wikis, but perhaps there is one or two that I have missed. If you know of a mod that has a very decent wiki, please leave the name of it here and I will get it handled.

Have you ever been playing in a big modpack, or even vanilla Minecraft, and found yourself wondering what a specific item you have does? Or have you ever been playing in Minecraft and you wished for an easy solution to getting your questions answered? Well my friend, I have a solution for you.WikiLink is a utility used to open various information sources based on what you want to look up inside of Minecraft. If you are curious about the functions of redstone, all you have to do is use one of the various built in functions of WikiLink and you’ll get the information you need in seconds via your default web browser.

WikiLink has been tested and has been proven to work on all operating systems including Windows, Mac and Linux or Unix. Thank you to my valiant testers for helping me squash bugs and fix problems regarding operating systems and browser handling. If you are experiencing a bug however, please do not hesitate to post in this thread, send me an email, or even tweet me.

    Usage
WikiLink is super easy to use, making getting information on mostly every item in the game a breeze. You can open the WikiLink menu GUI by pressing the default key - I - (Configured in NEI keybindings menu) while hovering over an item in your inventory or the NEI item panel. The WikiLink menu will display a series of information sources based on that particular item including Wikis, Google links and even YouTube videos. You can select any of the information sources by clicking on one of the brown boxes until it turns green. When selected, you can either open the link automatically in your default browser or you can copy the link directly to your clipboard so you may paste it in the chat or send it to a friend.

    Mod Spotlights

The Current Version for Minecraft 1.6.x Installation is easy. Just install Forge and then put WikiLink into your /mods/ directory :) WikiLink can not and should not be installed on a server. Doing so will cause the earth to implode.

    Frequently Asked Questions
I have a wonderful FAQ section on my website if you would like to check it out. It has all of the information regarding my project and all of the legal stuff. There is also information regarding modpacks there.

    Credits
    I would like to thank everyone who has helped me with this project, as if it weren't for your support and guidance I most likely would have not come this far. There are also a couple of folks in particular who I would like to personally thank;
    • Vswe, Teaching me with his great summer courses! Thank you so much for doing all that you do.
    • ScottKillen, The plugin an ability for mod integration. Thanks for all of your help!

I just released a new WikiLink version with a lot of core changes which will effect the update schedule in the future. I can now manage all of WikiLink's information including websites, google links, wikis, youtube videos and everything else WikiLink deals with and have the mod automatically receive that data.

If you would like to see the data and perhaps help contribute, please visit my github! :)

Some other changes include a few bug fixes with enchanted items as well as a separate wiki link that will direct you to the Minecraft wiki for that enchantment when searching enchanted books. I haven't made much leeway on the localization problems yet, but that's my next task.

    Cheers, and enjoy WikiLink 3.0.2.2r!

Does this mod work for 1.6.4 or are you going have to port it to 1.6.4?

1.6.4 is on it's way. I haven't tested the current version with 1.6.2 but you can surely try. It should work as there wasn't anything to fix in the source, but don't quote me on that one ;P

Here's a little sneak peek as to what I am working on finishing before the update.

Obviously it's not finished, but I am getting there ;) I will certainly finish by this upcoming weekend even if it kills me.

posted a message on 1.6.2 WikiLink - Updated with new API!

I moved my topic to here!

Have you ever been playing in a big modpack, or even regular Minecraft, and you have no idea what in the world the item you just found does? Well my friend, I have a solution for you.

WikiLinks is my first ever project in Minecraft development that I would like to share with the public. I designed it because I was tired of hearing people on Youtube say “Oh, what does this do?” With my mod, all you have to do is type /wiki <search term> and it will open up an information source in your default web browser automatically.

I need people to test and see if this works properly on Mac OS and Unix/Linux Machines. Thank you.

If you are interested in knowing something about an item, just use the /wiki command as so:
    /wiki <wiki key> <search term>
<wiki key> = Specific Wiki that you want to search in. If you don't want to search a specific wiki, not entering the wiki key will result in the mod searching on the default wiki.
<search term> = The subject you want to search. It can be practically anything.

    Final example:
/wiki ftb im a noob at thaumcraft plz help me

    Goes Here

    Wiki Options
If you want to add different wikis for different mods, those are now handled by the mod author. If you would like to request a mod to be added to WikiLink, please contact the author of the mod. :) However, here are the three built in wikis I have installed with their keys:
    • Minecraft Wiki - mcw
    • Technic Pack Wiki - tpw
    • Feed the Beast Wiki - ftb

The Current Version for Minecraft 1.6.2 Older Versions

Again, this mod is in it’s early stages of alpha. If you have any suggestions, please feel free to write them here. I am open for anything and everything, as this is my first learning experience with programming.

    Planned Features
    • NEI Integration
    • GUI Option Menu for Configurations
This isn't the best photo, but I'm not really sure what else I can show. This is the text output after you enter the command. It tells you what you searched for and where it's taking you.

If you are a mod developer and you are interested in including your mod's wiki in WikiLink, you can extend it's API by adding this interface to your mod. If you have a wiki software that is not supported, please tell me and I will add it into the next version of WikiLink! (At least until I can get the custom wiki system going)

As long as this is somewhere in your mod, WikiLinks will pick it up and add your wiki to the database. It's up to you for now to "advertise" your wiki key until I can get a good system for sharing them.

    • Vswe, You're a great modder and a great teacher. I really enjoyed learning with your video course. The amount of effort put in to those videos is incredible. Your series is the best on Youtube and I really hope you are proud of it.
    • ScottKillen, I'm not sure if when you asked if I wanted to implement mod support into WikiLink you realized I was a novice programmer, but you took the extra steps of talking me through the problems I was having and I really appreciated that. Thank you for helping me out, because I couldn't have mod integration without you!

Don't know about the carpet, BUT the dark nodes form in special dungeon structures in low, flat, low-tree count biomes (I took such a description because this description also works for spawning dungeons in other mod's biomes).

I posted some of my findings on the FTB forums related to dungeons because the Magic pack is relevant to TC3
