The bucket slot is for making the metal tank only accept a particular type of fluid (e.g. place a bucket of crude oil in the bucket slot and that tank will only fill with crude oil). Looks like I forgot to mention that on the wiki page. I'll add that now.
When you mine an ore, you gain the experience when you smelt it to ingots, not when you pick the block. This also holds true if you are mining the blocks with the crack hammer (smelt the powder for your XP). Also, if you automate your ore smelting (e.g. with a hopper), then you don't gain the XP from the furnace.
A tesla coil is a neat idea. I'll add that to the to-do list. Note that I did add an alternative turret block (use /give electricadvantage:laser_turret_evil) that attacks players and ignores monsters, so now you can use laser turrets in adventures as well.
@Heaven: I had originally planned to add robots to perform those automation tasks (like ore mining, tree cutting, and farming), but I just don't have enough time to do that.
Power Advantage fluid pipes work with the Fancy Fluid Storage mod, so I think the Power Advantage fluid mod support interface is working correctly. Perhaps those mods require special fluid control beyond the Fluid Handler interface?
I haven't had any problems changintg the texture resolution (see the Minecraft Mineralogy resourcepack, which includes Base Metals textures). Maybe you have a typo in your folder names? Try extracting the Base Metals .jar file (rename as .zip and then unzip it) and use the assets folder as your starting point.
Sorry for not responding sooner. All of those wands work in 1.8 on my testing setup, so I'll need a full list of all installed mods in order to diagnose the problem.

I'm sorry for the inconvenience. How could I make it more obvious that there's a new dependency?

Thanks for the head's-up on new power systems. I'll see if I can make that happen.

That's very creative and clever!

Except for the 1.7.10 version, Minecraft Mineralogy is completely compatible with Biomes O' Plenty.

Not presently. Ore spawning is not geology specific in this mod (for the sake of simplicity). That may become a feature in the future.
