Hello. Big fan of the Enhanced Default shader. It's the best playable shader for large modpacks out there, all things considered. I have a suggestion if the devs are still updating this one and are interested in ideas. I like the cel shader option on a 4k display, but mostly close-up. It goes great with connected textures.

In the distance, it feels a little off with the clear lines in the fog. It can also overpower blocks in the distance once they get too busy, especially the sides of hills and mountains. Would you consider adding an option to choose a distance limit? Is that even feasible?

    Either way, thanks!

I'm also getting blue and orange lines with the POM. I've had this once before with SEUS, but I can't remember what it was.

I *thought* it was the mip mapping, but all that is off. So, I have to assume since updating my video card drivers seems to be involved that it's forcing something on the game. But I go through all those settings and it should be off, too.

It's an AMD card, so I'm pretty sure that's the problem. Anyone recommend a software version for an R9 390?

So, I'm still having the issues I was having before, but I have this down to a science now. If I switch from internal to continuum shaders, it will still break the textures, until I reboot the client. When it loads back up, it will work fine (this is with chroma hills and soartex now). When I go to swap it back to internal shaders, the client will crash. I can see if I can find a crash report when I get back home if someone thinks it'll help.

I'm working around it, but its driving me nuts, lol. And I'd still like more textures for the mods, but it just doesn't seem to like some of them (notably BDCraft, which works about 10% of the time so I just cut out it out of the picture)

I'm trying to get best possible cinematic quality for replaymod.

Welp,. that's the extent of my expertise on the subject! Though I'd recommend testing that theory just in case,

I'd be interested in the answer here, too. I'm having trouble downgrading to an earlier version of optifine on 1.10.2 and that's the only change I made.

This is driving me nuts!! lol

Ok, update: The BDCraft FTB Infinity HD pack that didn't work before totally worked. And for a good solid couple of hours, I had all three packs working together perfectly. Until I went to render a video, switched to the shader pack and it was all still working! Then, when I went to render the camera path (using replaymod), it crashed, then on restart, all the texture packs were disabled again. Tried to put all three again, no go, so I went with the two that work half the time. That worked, but I'm still back at square one.

Does your modpack have fastcraft in it? If so, it doesn't like optifine. Try disabling that one.

I have a feeling this one is undiagnosable, but just in case, here it is:

I regularly switch out between shaders and no shaders as I switch between playing and rendering. When switching on shaders, sometimes it unloads half of the textures (giving me pink cows, among other things). While other textures in the pack remain working.

This started off as something that happened occasionally. Now, it will simply unload all of the texture packs most of the time and occasionally works as planned.

And, now it's not only happening when I'm using shaders. If the game crashes while the textures aren't loaded, when I reload the game, the resource packs are all disabled. If I go in to turn them back on, the game will pause for a few minutes like normal, but it will exit the screen with no textures loaded MOST of the time. Sometimes, It'll have a little more luck if I only load chroma hills, the primary, by itself. Sometimes not. Sometimes it'll work with Chroma Hills and Soartex fanver modded. But usually, that will cause it to go back to vanilla textures. If I throw in bdcraft FTB beyond pack, it fails every time.

This happened during a period of no updates of any kind. The only changes I had made were adding continuum shaders, and then later when I configured them. So, naturally, I thought that was the culprit, but the problem persists even with optifine disabled.

This seems to be getting progressively worse over time with no apparent cause.

No, lol. The cows look fine without the shaders. I'm aware that it's the default for a missing texture, but it's switching to the shader that is breaking the textures.

And I did some testing last night. It's not that the textures can't load, it's literally the act of switching to continuum that breaks the textures. If I have the pack active when I load the map, they load fine.

So, it's partially working, at least with a workaround, but this is still happening on the switch, and to do what I have to do, I need to switch it out back and forth fairly often.

That alone wouldn't be the biggest of deals, but sometimes it does randomly crash while rendering. If there's a trigger, it's not consistent because I can have better luck the next time I try. This has not yet happened with SEUS, so it seems to be coming from continuum. Though, I fear it's going to be such a personal issue that no one here will be able to help me.

    Hi!

These shaders have been great so far for me. I just have a couple of issues I was wondering if you could help me iron out (if there's even a solution).

    Best to demonstrate:

The clouds look amazing, BTW. But, you'll notice I have pink cows! lol. And that's not the only texture issue I'm having. The mob heads all had HD textures on them that won't display with these shaders on. The gui gets knocked down to a different texture pack's as well. It's not just one texture pack it doesn't like, either. At least I don't think. But it's like half of Chroma Hills doesn't load.

And, those light spots have that square around them. I can see this being a side effect of using shaders in general. But if you have any tips on how to fix that, it would be amazing.

I'm new at all this, too, so if you have any recommendations on other things I can turn on to make it look even better, that'd be cool. I'm using replaymod to render the videos so frame rate isn't an issue. I just want them to look their best.

OK, I'll try 1558. I might have to fix a few other mods because of it, but if it gets it to work...

I still can't get the preview version of optifine for 1.7.10 to work. The game will not load, even if that's the only active mod. It works fine with the previous version (the latest release version that doesn't have the shaders built in).

Any ideas? I can't be the only one.

edit: My only thought is it's the forge version, but usually if I'm using the wrong one, I get a message that tells me so, and it doesn't get that far. It's a full-on crash. I'm using 1614, which is the latest version of forge for 1.7.10.

I duplicated my profile, removed all other mods but this version of optifine, it still crashes.

I can run optifine HD U D6, the latest release version of optifine. I need the shader support in the preview version, optifine HD U D7. The game will not load if I switch them out.

I deleted any optifine config files I could find. Same crash. I then tried to make a new profile (mmc) and tried to start a new game with my modpack, but replaced optifine with the preview version, same crash.

    Any ideas?

Nooooooo way, lol. I've put too much time into this world to start over now.

I can start there just to make sure I can make this version of optifine works in general. And as a nuclear option, I can try porting over the world and the mods and all that and see if it all loads up right, but if I end up losing my progress i'll be cutting of my nose to spite my face. Or throwing the baby out with the bath water. Whichever disgusting analogy you'd prefer.

There HAS to be an optifine config file somewhere in there, though, so maybe if I dig in I'll find it and hopefully that will handle that part.

Still looking for advice on AMD driver versions, too.

I doubt it's the forge version. I have run into that a few times and every time I've gotten some kind of a notification that I needed to use at least 1566, or whatever it was at the time. I'm running 1614, i think. Whatever the highest one is. I can try going back just to try it, but I can't imagine that's it.

Unfortunately, I couldn't find an optifine entry in the configs. I thought of that. Though, it's possible I missed it or something. There must be something somewhere, though. Where else could the settings I set be saved?

Been vigorously googling all day today since the alternative is actually doing work at work. There are a few things I can try when I get home, but I'd still love more input/insight.
