    Emerald blocks are the only thing I'd like to see. Because you can get them on the, relatively, cheap from villagers, Tools better than diamond would be silly. Especially because you need about a dozen emeralds right now to get a diamond pick.

    Using lava lamps to create light, and be able to turn them on and off.

    This was actually all perfectly possible before using pistons to block fluid flow. This is more a quality of life thing, and condenses the amount of space necessary

    As a perspective adventure map designer, I'm curious if there is a way to modify the villager's trade parameters without forcing people using the map to use a mod. Specifically I'm asking about the jack of all trades tool that is NBTedit.

    So I'd like to know if anyone has figured out where in the world save files a villager's trade data is stored, and if it can be modified so the villager can trade items they otherwise would not. This would be invaluable for adventure maps since you could make a totally functional trading and currency system. With the new books, the stacking dropped items (see one of Sethbling's videos for how this helps), and villager traders 1.3 is going to be a MASSIVE boon for adventure map design.

    So I would be hugely thankful to anyone if the find and share a way to modify a villager's trade data in the world save.

    The good news!

    The map is just amazing. And when we go live that will give us the building time we need to throw you all into the global RP event. As soon as you spawn you will be locked in spawn for 30 minutes while we wait for other players to join. When we have an adequate amount we'll begin the event (I wont give anything away). The purpose of this event is to establish the tribes, introduce ourselves in-character and have some fun! Oh, and explore the map!


    Doesn't effect me much. I'll be out of town all weekend anyway. Unfortunate nonetheless. Thanks for keeping us updated.

    (A little sad I'll miss the big show.)

    I don't know if idle chatter is allowed in this thread, but I'm curious on a few things, and would like to point a few things out.

    1. The tribal faction based nature will be wonderful for immersion, since farming animals and crops will be so risky. If you start raising animals, you create a liability that pulls in rival tribes to come and kill. So you kill the animals you find, and you don't rely on crops. It feels like a genuine hunter gatherer society. (And the hunters have to go out and do just what their name implies.)

    2. I'm curious about some specifics the PVP system. I know it likely hasn't been refined to it's final shape, in terms of specifics at least. First, being a Witch Doctor makes me curious, are passive aggressive preparations, such as slowing or weakening aloud before the 20 second period elapses aloud? Because otherwise I'll always lose my jump on classes like rogues and hunters and the like simply because they can just dash out of harm's way faster than I can give chase. (However... Speed potions... Now that's a thought.) Next, if someone who is challenged charges me, I assume that means they voided their 20 second window, correct? (This is all assuming I started combat. Considering I'm the megalomaniac witch doctor, that should always be the case. :P )

    What attracted you to this server?: The roleplaying elements. I've played other roleplaying servers and the roleplaying elements just don't seem genuine. I'm hoping this is something different. :)

    IC:

    Characters name: Kael'tu of the _______

    Character Age: Young. Around 22.

    Characters appearance: I'm not particularly good at this sort of physical description when it comes to roleplaying. I'm working on a skin that should fit my character well. If I provide that will this section still be necessary?

    Was there a certain class you wanted to play? If so why?: Witch Doctor. I always like the sort of Buff/Debuff classes because they are relatable to me, no crazy damage but simultaneously invaluable.

    Goals for your character: Kael'tu fights for the soul purpose of watching both sides suffer. He finds strife entertaining, amusing. He became a witch doctor to better make his enemies agonize. He often spares his foes, just because it's fun to watch them run away, an inch from death, screaming for their lives. He doesn't need control, he needs suffering.
    Kael'tu's ultimate goal is to subjugate. He wants power over whatever he can, just so he can cause pain for whatever he wants whenever he finds himself bored. His goal is never to eradicate an enemy tribe, he always wants to leave enough left that they have to face the reality that their tribesmen are all dead and they are hopelessly screwed. The pain of his enemies is worth much more to him than any power he could be offered.

    1. You find yourself in the jungle at night returning to your village, and two wild wolves emerge before you. They begin to circle to flank you, what do you do?

    I would daze the wolves and poison them, before retreating to the treetops to watch as their lives slowly faded away. And the hounds are weak and ripe for the killing, I would leave them to suffer in agony. An adequate and amusing punishment for the misstep of trying to attack me.

    2. Two members of your tribe begin shouting at each other in the village center,. You are drawn to them curious as to what's happening, they seem to be arguing over a corpse of a fresh kill. Probably about which of the two hunters gets the first pick of meat. What do you do?

    I would grab them both by the tunic and tell them to shut the hell up. And that if they don't stop arguing and just split the kill evenly, I'll just poison their meat simply for disturbing my solitude. This infighting is meant for the other tribes. Not mine.

    I'm getting the server connection issues, but after as little as 6 seconds. It also happens every time I try to load up a world. I literally cannot play single player with the snapshot.

    Why does Thaumcraft need a modpack? Modpacks aren't mod creator friendly because the mod creator doesn't get that little bit of income they certainly deserve from Adfly links. Besides, they take away a lot of customization and personal choice.

    What about making a Thaumic Deconstructor?

    I read somewhere that the reason complex blocks can't be converted to vis is because of performance issues. I presume the conversion to vis is some recursive function call that looks at the recipe and then tries to convert the sub components to vis as well. Still, sometimes in my factories I find that I accidentally over stock machines and complex components that I don't really need at that particular moment. It would be nice to have a machine that uses vis to break an item down into its components.
