Personally, I like that the oceans are huge. Oceans are supposed to be huge, right?
The minecraft world doesn't have to be realistic, I mean look at the minecraft storyline. Wake up alone somewhere, punch trees for wood, and then fight a dragon boss surrounded by black dwarfs. Minecraft is supposed to be fun, not realistic.
Small oceans are good, like for underwater based, but they shouldn't be 2/3 of all terrain like earth
The adventure update changed biomes to make them bigger and created the difference between oceans and islands. The thing is though, a forest can occur in reality on an island or on a mountain, so why does each defined biome on the wiki have the word mountain or island in its definition? (obviously with the exception of mountain biomes). Each generated chunk should be considered for several different conditions. Ocean depth, number of lakes, height, amount of trees, whether or not snow and ice are present; things like that. Oceans trump everything else because they are defined as nothing but water. Swamps shouldn't have mountains since that's just logical. Other biomes like mushroom biomes should not be defined as "flat" or "hilly." each chunk should consider all of these factors independently, as long as they all go together logically (no ice in deserts and no mountains in swamps).
I use most of me cuz I'm impatient and I like the update notes. Some of the 1.9 ones I wouldn't touch though because of the bug reports. I still have a ton of chunk generation errors, as in 7 biomes, 3 water heights, and nothing but square edges all in one area.
As far as the current little prerelease, it's perfectly stable, just don't expect to be farming melons/pumpkins. I chopped up 2 great trees and got 9 apples, so it's got a nice ratio
Yeah, same as everyone else has said above. I've been living in the same underground base since 1.3 and spawns literally spawn inside my wheat farms, ruining my crops, and all throughout the rest of my base. I've got about 20 stacks of slimes and used about one stack. Since the height change, I'm pretty sure they spawn less often, but I'm not 100% sure
I got that in my world too. I popped out of a nether portal in land I had never been to and there are three different water levels meeting at one point and about seven biomes, including desert, snow, and several types of forests
I have been looking for a solution for a long time, but still cant find it yet. I know where my minecraft save files are and everything on my computer and account works. I can load save files from my friend, but not from youtube videos. What am I doing wrong?
Hostile mobs have always despawned and/or burned up during the day, but what does the coding tell the hostile mobs about desoawning underground during the day and during the night? As far as I know, they never despawn while you are still within their chunk, but is this still true?
So far in my old 1.2 taiga biome the ice has been spreading for the first time in months but it has not rained/snowed in my world yet, do I'm going to say probably yes
The biggest thing is how thick the walls are. If they are pushing each other, the ge will save the coordinates when you log out then they might spawn plus or minus one unit in each direction. The fence already makes it two blocks high and the ground is the ground so those two directions are safe. Just make the walls two blocks thick so that if they do spawn in the wall tgey will have to go in and not out.
You just turned a corner and a skeleton, a zombie, and a creeper all notice you at the same time. They all charge you from about 15 blocks away. You have a bow, 100 arrows, and an iron sword. In what order would you kill these mobs?

It came as a .zip and did not need winrar as far as I can tell
Thank You! Such a simple solution, but when I unzipped the folders there were two folders leading up to the data instead of one
for you

Could this mean that I have been living in a snow biome this entire time, including that there are no trees present, or is this 100% glitch?
