Wow, thanks for all of the great feedback. Yes, I know it's very expensive, but I would ask Alcatraz about that. He came up with the idea. Also, I'm not sure if it works in SMP, could somebody test it?
I like how it is expensive. It keeps it as an end-game weapon.
Jun 5, 2011It's interesting how you made the revolver quite expensive. It's sort of like the planes mod. You can't get it unless you've earned it.Posted in: Minecraft Mods
Also, can the recoil from shooting push you into the air when you shoot downwards like the Force'a'Nature from TF2?

This is tantamount to spam.
Moderators, again, would not sticky a topic unless they felt it was in-line with their own philosophy/beliefs.
That is akin to saying we cannot protest a law because it is in-line with the government's phillosophy/beliefs. This poll is meant to bring the moderators' attention to the majority's opinions. If the majority prefers that the thread remains stickied, or not stickied, it ends up to be the moderators' decision.
Also, I would hardly call this a flame thread. I've seen more heated discussions in the "Stop Fighting the Guns" thread that was posted earlier.
May 24, 2011I strongly agree. It doesn't make sense that a thread based mainly on opinions and subjective matter should be stickied.Posted in: Suggestions
Kira also criticizes ideas based on how they are portrayed in her thread. Not all threads based around the concepts will be the same, so why brand them all as such?

- Would make it insanely easy to grief with. Water is bad enough but at least it doesn't light stuff on fire while it floods
- Would make the game way too easy. One infinite Lava source and you never need to use Coal to smelt again.
- There is tons of Lava available as it is.

Installation Instructions- all mods
FAQ - all mods
Mod Downloads - Minecraft SSP 1.2.5
The SSP mods require ModLoader, You can get ModLoader here. Follow Risugami's instructions carefully.
Mod Downloads - Minecraft SMP Server 1.2.5
The SMP mod conflicts with mods that modify the World, ChunkProviderGenerate, or ChunkProviderHell classes. Notably this means the mod conflicts with the Forge API.
More templates: minecraft.gcod.net is a repository where you can find additional templates and post your own (registration required) creations.
Please read the FAQ before posting questions on the forum, I'll only reply to questions not answered in the FAQ. There is also full documentation including a description and examples of the template format. Old versions and source code are also available on the project Google code site as well as a converter for MCEdit .schematics.
Using blocks and NPCs from other mods
The Great Wall Mod and the Walled City Generator can use blocks from other mods in custom templates. Special effort has been made to adapt mob spawners so you can spawn modded creates inside cities and walls. I've included with the SSP downloads templates using NPCs from
Humans+(Humans+ compatibility currently inoperative) and Castle Defenders. See here for instructions on using these templates. See the documentation for more info on modded blocks.
This world generation mod creates ruins from cellular automata. CARuins can take the form of towers, bizarre statues, pyramids, mysterious elevated temples, or huge multifloor underground dungeons. They can stretch deep underground and are populated with hidden chambers and loot. Since they are generated from random seeds, there is a near-infinite variety of form, and no two CARuins you encounter will be alike. The 2D cellular automata used (including the famous Game of Life) have been selected from among the thousands possible in order to produce interesting structures.
Walled City Generator
Creates large procedurally generated cities in your world for you to explore. Cities are based on a customizable format that lets you customize many aspects such as materials, size, density, and rarity to your desire. Cities also include custom wall styles, buildings, and dungeons to conquer. Currently eight city styles come with the mod, including friendly cities inhabited by villagers, several "ruined" city styles filled with hostile mobs, cities in giant underground caverns, and a city that spawns only in the nether. SSP and vanilla SMP versions are available.

The Great Wall Mod
Generates walls, road, and buildings. By default it creates terrain-spanning structures resembling The Great Wall of China. Roads can be created by using ground-level walls. Walls are generated at random during map creation and head off in a given direction while following the contours of the terrain. They will continue on until they reach an obstacle they cannot surmount, often running for many hundreds of blocks. SSP and vanilla SMP versions are available.
Preview video thanks to MCmodShowcase
By generating roads and buildings at high density, the Great Wall Mod can create inifinite cities. Try using the Casbah.tml template along with GlobalFrequency 0.5 or higher in the GreatWallModSettings.txt file. Alternately any wall template should work if you give it a short min_length. Climb a tower to see the view . More info here.

Mar 20, 2012Has this ever happened to you? It happens all the time for my friends and I on SMP. I put a minecart on a track against a wall, and I push the minecart into the wall by accident. Instead of just stopping, it turns darker and kinda floats into the wall, sometimes getting completely lost. I have minecarts with chests full of my cobble stash (to prevent chestfinding hackers from finding them), and I'm afraid they're going to disappear.Posted in: Suggestions
The same happens with boats except almost every time it hits a block from the side.
Also, my wolves keep running into walls and suffocating. Two of my wolves had a baby, and the baby spawned in the wall and died.
It seems like this started happening in 1.8 beta or maybe 1.0 release. Mojang, please fix this annoying glitch!
Feb 18, 2012Most of the things you listed are Japanese.Posted in: Suggestions
The Chinese did not use rice for construction much at all. Nor did it really help them expand as a nation; that would be their complex bureaucratic systems (like the Civil Service Exams, if I recall correctly) and huge population. The ubiquity of rice certainly helped them expand, but it was little more than a staple, not used for trade or construction as the Japanese did.
Now on to the in-game features...
Most of this is completely unnecessary, providing what seem to be nothing more than low-durability versions of things which are already very, very easy to get (walls, doors). The idea of another crop is certainly nice, but I'd go for something a little more creative. Beekeeping, perhaps.

NOT THIS **** AGAIN.
The people that went to Minecon, in the simplest terms possible, PAID HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS IN EXPENSES FOR THEIR CAPE.
I DAMN WELL THINK THEY DESERVE IT.
If Mojang sold a new type of cape for like $1000 dollars, anyone that could afford it probably deserved it.
Also, every person that paid for Minecraft at any stage of development has had an equal effect. Get the heck off your high horse and realize that if nobody bought the game in Beta Notch would realize you people supported him in something that would never get anywhere. We're the people that showed him Minecraft is actually a game people want to play. You basically made him take a leap of wild faith and it'd be your fault if it flunked. So don't get high and mighty since it didn't ._.
Jan 1, 2012This is funny, but not much else. It would be too silly and random, especially after the whole meme thing dies out.Posted in: Suggestions

Ever played Civilization? You start with a dude that has nothing and can't do much of anything, you're in ancient times and don't even know what a wheel is. then you research new technology and get so far as lasers and spacecraft. it doesn't seem bad for minecraft to go industrial or even futuristic. minecraft is supposed to be whatever the hell you want it to, that's what mods are for. minecraft isnt really about mining anymore anyway, you can do so much more with it. going industrial and even futuristic should be an option but not a necessity
The thing with Civilization, is you're not a single dude, and a single game takes place over thousands of years.

I hate MCBans SO much.
I'm not even a griefer a hacker. It's just unfair. I hated being a mod on a server with it. It made even the server owner suspicious because he logged in frequently. >.<
