I added Java and Minecraft to McAfee, allowing them through McAfee's firewall. Still Minecraft won't run.
When I doubleclick my Minecraft shortcut icon, I get a brief (one-tenth of a second) flash of the spiraling blue wheel, indicating that a program is loading, then nothing.
Thanks! I feel I'm on the right track. Java and Minecraft were not listed in the Windows Firewall list, so I had to browse for them. I had to click through several folders until I found a file simply called Java, and "allowed" that through the firewall.
I put the Minecraft Grass Block in the folder "Minecraft" in the folder "Program Files (X86)" and then browsed and "allowed" Minecraft through the firewall.
I played Minecraft a lot last year. Then one day it stopped working on my Windows 7 laptop.
I tried everything I could think of to get it running again, but nothing worked. I could still login and play Minecraft on a different computer, though, so I did that.
But for the past several months, I only have my laptop.
Can somebody help me to get Minecraft running again on my Windows 7 laptop?
The last thing I remembered doing that might have screwed something up was this: I might have accidentally clicked a box that said "Do not allow program to run." But I'm not sure; it was months ago. And I can't locate anything that says, "Allow program to run."
I tried running Minecraft as an Administrator, but that didn't work.
I tried downloading a new Minecraft copy, but that didn't work either.
When I double-click the Minecraft Grass Block, absolutely nothing happens. Nothing. I can't even play the free version in my browser.
Any help resolving this problem would be greatly appreciated.
I have not yet tried deleting all my old Minecraft files, because I don't want to lose the maps and so forth.
You were working on some new features for the interface? Did you ever implement them?
I let my subscription lapse while waiting for 1-click plugins, so I'm curious.
There are so many other hosts that don't seem to care about Minecraft at all. I like that you enjoy Minecraft so much. :smile.gif:
And I'm looking forward to those new one-click plugins!
Have fun at Minecon! Also, buy a glow-in-the-dark creeper and keep it in your shirt pocket at all times, so if I ever run into you, I can snatch it and run away before you know what happened.
We're getting LOADS of traffic right now, so much that we had to quadruple our trial servers to a total of 32 claimable servers, and even then they're almost completely full at all times! :laugh.gif:
Also, be aware that the trial login/password may've gone into your spam folder. Mine did.
I like it.I've been seeing something like this materialize for quite a while now. Its flawed as mentioned above but cool nonetheless.
Very clever!
For something like 400 stones, the player dropping the stones merely presses the Q button 400 times at a slow steady rate - allowing the other player to count how many stones were dropped.
Or they could trade 1 stone at a time or 10 stones at a time or whatever.
I was going to wait until next month to sign-up with LethalDrive - after you added one-click plugins - but with this lower price I went ahead and signed-up early.
Downloading my world from another server and uploading it to yours went easier than I expected - probably because your website explained exactly what to enter into the FileZilla fields. Thanks for having that information handy.
So far Minecraft is running great on LethalDrive, and every detail of my world is intact. Even the familiar 1.8 glitchy chest in my sandstone castle continues to face the wrong way. LOL.
I'm looking forward to seeing what new features you'll be adding to the Control Panel next month.

It's still not running, though.
My anti-virus is McAfee.
Did I make an error doing what I did?

But is it truly awesome?
Yes.
The most complicated thing I've ever made with redstone is a redstone torch, yet even I can see the endless potential for this innovation.

I'm happy to see a 3D program like this enter the arena.
Good job!
