That actually sounds like a good thing- Minecraft, just faster, more efficient, and easier to mod! Sure, the modding community will be different, but that's not really that bad if the mods for C# are better and freer.

Another big update, which will be a pain to update mods to. Just what the modding community needs!
At the very least, when they finally DO update, it sounds like things will be a lot easier

Tis true. I think that parents should know what their children are playing, if they are really all that worried about the content of games. They could even actually try to play with their children, and try to bond with them. Honestly, I think a kid is better off sitting in front of a screen playing video games all day than wandering the streets, largely unsupervised.

New stuff has always been evil. The Romans were afraid that the new Greek literature would destroy society and corrupt the nation. I take a lot of these doomsayers with a grain of anti-apocalyptic salt.

Than if that's how people think their kids should be raised, who are we to interfere? I doubt it would psychologically damage/corrupt children (though it might).
There is nothing you can do about it. You want to pass legislation? Then you should pass some legislation restricting what movies and books you should see too. That itself would be problematic, since the rating body for film is not very consistent (Bully, a small-scale documentary meant for middle-school children, was given an R-rating due to cursing by students it was documenting. The Kite Runner got PG-13, for, among other things, the rape of a child.)
Though, the best way to make sure there is no inappropriate content in a child's gaming life is to know the games your child is playing. You could even try playing the game yourself- you bond with your children, find a new hobby, and better monitor their gaming life!

YOU WILL BE ASSIMILATED.
But, for some reason, I don't see what's so bad about that. Really, some countries SHOULD get overthrown by an Illuminati-esque conspiracy.

But those are the best ones!
But seriously, if your a parent, you monitor your kids' games. It's what you do. Obviously, there are some games which are not suitable for children, but others are probably perfectly fine for children to play.
Minor note, but Satanism is actually a legitimate religion protected under the constitution, and usually nothing like Hollywood Satanism. Just an interesting thing to point out.

Yikes. Next time, lets just assume that EVERYONE you know is an Illuminati conspiracy theorist.^_^
Anyway, the Illuminati actually DID exist. Just ask Wikipedia. They were around in the 16th century, in Bavaria (Southern Germany). They opposed the Bavarian monarchy, and supported such immoral ideas as democracy, women's rights, freedom of religion and speech. They were crushed in the 16th century, but they always existed in the minds of European monarchs as an evil conspiracy group, just around the corner to expel you and establish a republic or some other heinous form of government.

Nice. In reality, new media is always viewed as inferior to and less "sacred" and "artistic" than older forms of media. For example, since books (and specifically novels) were the newest form of media in the 19th century, many people believed that books would corrupt people and turn them into lazy sloths. In fact, Cicero gave a famous speech in the Roman Empire defending literature (and specifically Greek literature) from censorship, because many conservative Roman senators believed that literature (especially newly assimilated Greek literature) would erode Roman values and weaken and destroy society.
Every generation believes that the next generation will turn out crappy. They were saying that society will have degenerated into a seething mass of lethargic hedonists in the 1950s if the current generation takes over.

What IS the difference between CurseForge and Curse? CurseForge is somewhat more convenient, and lists different mods, but what is the difference?

Hmm... I never particularly though that undead were inherently evil- only if you had to sacrifice babies or something to get them. Nonetheless, this sounds like an awesome mod! Maybe if you had a certain sin level you would be ignored by undead? (Assuming they're evil)

Heck, I fight most stuff with nothing but a stone/iron sword and a piece or two of iron armor- I usually don't invest too much into weaponry. I die occasionally, but not too often. Most stuff can be fought with medium-quality weaponry if you use the right tactics and know when to bail. The only stuff which I universally bail from are lobbers, wendigos, and worms.

I usually manage. You kinda always have to be armed, but I usually play over LAN and have one or two people watching my back. I've played with Lycanite's mobs for so long that I've just kinda gotten used to the stronger mobs- vanilla mobs are outright underwhelming for me.

Yeah, with the end expansion, special ender mobs are actually a sensible idea now.

@clarity I'm fairly certain that you won't have to re-input the drops again.
As to the astral mobs, maybe they could spawn around special portals in the nether. Demons are always trying to invade heaven- who says angels wouldn't try to invade hell?

No! Not another cool mod for 1.7.10! Must... restrain... self...
This certainly looks cool. From the previous discussion, maybe you could rename the "earth" element to "nature".

2GB recommended? That's quite a lot for just one mod.

I remember an early post talking about how you created a framework which would make adding mobs a lot easier. I have two questions relating to this:
1. Is this why in the past you were able to update so rapidly?
2. Could you go further with this concept and create a mod which allows basically anyone who knows how to model to create their own custom mobs?

Hello, I've been playing modded minecraft 1.12, but whenever I play, the used memory increases until after maybe 30 minutes my game has already run out of memory.
Does anyone know how to search for and find which mod is causing the memory leak?

Are the other non-domestic animals, like peacocks and frogs, going to drop meat eventually too?

*bump*
Lycanite has finally updated to 1.11.2, with 1.12 expected just around the corner!New stuff includes tameable and ridable rocs, beholders, cacodemons, and a new shark mob called the roa, as well as a fix for those tiny accursed abtu hitboxes!

They should normally give experience- my mobs do. If your killing the pirahna fish-things (can't remember the name), most of them are babies- they don't give experience or drop anything anyway.

That's great news! It'll make pillaging villages fun again!

The Slime thing is really cool. Someone has played Dungeons and Dragons...

I would suggest just adding the weapons, and add versions of those weapons for other mods' materials without actually adding the material. That, in my opinion, is much more useful.
