posted a message on Boats Evolved; bigger, modular boats
I am so happy that I found this, and that it is still wildly popular (as it should be). As much as I would love to sift through the 66 pages, did anyone find a mod like this? Or would make a mod like it, and need funds? Because I have near given up on thinking they will ever add such major components like this, I live off of mods now. I would happily support anyone making a modular OR big boat mod!

You have excellent points, and I will have to give it a shot. I have a project I've been working on for about 8 months, so I don't think I'll test my city-making with that lol. Thank you, this is a HUGE help and resource for large-scale projects.

This is exactly what I needed, although I was hoping you would expound on the smaller details a little more... You certainly seem to know what you are doing. I (and I'm sure everyone who builds them thinks they do) excel at making very large central structures, castles, capitol buildings, so on and so forth, and I am good at interior design, the central and high-profile buildings aren't my problem, the issue lies with the smaller buildings. My roads seem to big, breaking up the city, and my buildings are too uniform, aligning to straight grids... I couldn't agree more with your "Go Big or Go Home" philosophy, but doing so for me has made actually building the little things not meant to grab attention more difficult. If you have any further advise on scaling, road mapping, etc I would greatly appreciate it.

posted a message on Project planning and development
So my problem is that I am (or at least I think I am) good at building massive grand structures that look ideal to plop a city down around. My issue is with doing so. I have already begun a project that involves building several cities to form a nation, with varying languages, cultures, and building styles, but I am no good at getting the small houses and little shops to look right. It seems I go too big with the buildings and dwarf the central building, and/or make them look far too modular and lined up, I am going for a more Dark Ages feel with the cities, and would rather have imperfect roads, off-set buildings, and make them look slightly different from one another. All I really need are some tips and tricks to be able to do this, I'm not expecting nor wanting anyone to do it for me. Until I perfect it, I am not going to start on the huge city, rather, I am going to make a reasonably small town first. Thank you.

posted a message on [Forge] TrainCraft (formerly Trains and Zeppelin mod)
Ok there is a dizzying number of replies referring to the Tracks Builder so I am just going to go ahead and ask, the thing won't work, is there a bug? I have fed it, filled every slot with an appropriate item, and the thing won't budge. I pushed it, no luck. I put it on a powered rail, nothing there. the thing flat out refuses to work and on my maps I am certainly missing it. Any aid on this would be greatly appreciated

    Quote from __NightWhisper__

Hate to sound stupid but is there a crash log? or is it just because your computer can't handle it? does it say memory issues or something?

Not at all, I should have mentioned it instead of blubbering. With optifine tuned, I reduced the lag to a playable level, but the crashes are the problem now. It is Java that stops responding, version 7, and my computer runs this mod without struggle it just seems to be on Java. There is now nothing in the game that seems to directly cause the crash, it happens randomly between 5-15 minutes of gameplay. If there is a way to get the Java crash report tell me and I'll get it for you

posted a message on [1.6.4]TerraFirmaCraft - Survival mode as it should've been.
I have been searching and couldn't find anything about this, nor a fix, but I am using nothing but the TerraFirmaCraft mod, Forge, PlayerAPI, and Optifine, and the game still lags out when the settings are tweaked and my visual render distance is on tiny. This is a fantastic, wonderful mod and it is exactly what I am looking for, but the seemingly random crashes and the terrible lag is hindering me a lot. Any guide, tips, or even proper installation of the Forge, PlayerAPI, Optifine and mods would be great I will try anything.

posted a message on [1.4] Bed Spawning
I don't know the technical reasons why you can't find brown sheep and wolves on your old maps, but you have to explore new terrain for them to be able to spawn. I have not yet gotten the bed-spawn thing to work, either.
