posted a message on Having guns like a revolver and a western shotgun

^.^ Thank you for this absolutely amazing read. As a relatively new poster on this site I figured I would research reasons why people were so against guns before I posted a new thread about it. This was positively the least insightful guns positive forum and most pointed and logical guns negative one I have read yet. As far as I can tell, "I wanna gun!" is really sounding just like that. A whimper and a whine. I had ideas i was going to share, but I think I agree with the con writers on this one... Guns don't fit. They would drastically change PVP on servers, cost too much in resources and/or time, (a simple iron flint build would not be enough. You want guns? Build ALL the parts!) and really would change the overall face of the game. as pointed out before, Iron golems would be a thing of the past, townsfolk would slowly become wild west warriors, and quite honestly... it would become something of a first person shooter than a channel for creativity.

You wanna modern up your Minecraft? Download a mod. You wanna play Minecraft as it was meant to be? Guns are a no.

Why did I read this to the end?

    lol.

It was entertaining as heck! Made my day, it did!

posted a message on Ocean Improvements Part 1/3: World Generation

I like the idea of reintroducing oceans and continents. having a broader space between land does wonders for the sense of adventure and adds that little bit of realism... I like the concept of the sail boat as well. The problem that lies is for players who play on limited maps. oceans would need to be huge to make a sailboat practical leaving little land in a limited map to form... you could spawn in on the game in the middle of the ocean as well, far from land...

I can see the reasons for bringing back and the reasons they removed huge oceans... personally, I missed the huge ocean era so I never knew the trials and tribulations people faced with it. personally, I would rather master a continent than a land mass of biomes...

posted a message on Scared of caves, help?

I've taken to the charge tactic lol. HOW I got there was charging headlong into a creeper screaming like a little girl :P I'm probably only at a 40/60 chance of success, but I use all dia stuffs... so it only takes two hits if I hit the creeper first BEFORE the fuse is lit

By the sound of everyone, you are not alone! I had the same issue when I first played with mobs. I was on edge, jumped when I heard a zombie behind me, shot bats for goodness sake. But I never left the cave till I had cleaned it out of ALL the resources... the longer I played the less I jumped... but I did get started in peaceful lol

posted a message on Why wanting to build in survival mode ?

I kind of take offence as a survival player being told I do not have as much "detail" or I build "small." on an old server I started my build at y12 expanding the space 16X16X7... then I went up 4 tiers and expanded that way till the top tier as 3 of those spaces by 4... THEN I built the water temple and quartz ceiling with netherbrick and glowstone highlights... AND THEN I expanded topside to build a sandstone/dark oak tower to skylimit not leaving detail out of it. Each level of the tower was decorated with staircase outcropping, quartz pillars made the main bone structure, gloswtone chandeliers hung from the 20 block high ceiling, and a mssive dark oak staircase led you up to the next floor. OUTSIDE of the first tower level I built a giant glass dome that literally encompassed the square footage of the entire underground build, which was my farm, and at the top I built a glass rainbow to surround the tower itself. the structure of the dome was built out of Iron blocks.

I wish I had screenshots to show you. It was intense. When the server went down, staff made a b-line to my build JUST TO DESTROY it because of it's intricacy. It made them jealous lol. In all honesty, I only built it to compete with the guy who built stark tower not 500 blocks away...

Here's the difference. You could probably have built all that in creative in a month. I took 6 months to build the basement. Sense of accomplishment? Most definitely. I refuse to accept that survival players are not detailed!
