Sorry if this is the wrong place, but I have an issue and no sure how to phrase it. I am currently running a server through a hosting site. It runs well and alls fine but recently in the past week, something strange has occurred. There is now a second server running on my Administration Account. I have no idea where it came from or why it's there. I've tried to shut it off or even delete it and it seems I have no power/ability to do so. I still have full control on my server, but this new server is untouchable. I cant log on to it via MC either s it has a whitelist in effect and Im not on that list.

I believe this is causing latency issues with my server so if you have any helpful advice, I'd love to hear it. Currently submitted a ticket through the host but I'd like to see who's on it and why if possible.

Hmm, must of messed something up on my end of the demo, not able to find the information to connect to the server. After a long day of work, I'm too tired to bother with it anymore tonight. Sent an email to maybe figure things out together though.

Also browsing posted sites again, to find a second option incase this falls through.

Just have to wait until they get more Demos available it seems. Seeing as I have two 16hr work shifts this weekend, not too big a deal. Oh college, why must thou be so expensive?

I will give RealBytes a try, seeing as they seem closest to my location. I appreciate all the assistance with this, and I'll see where things go based on how the performance goes. Being a small private server, I doubt there will be much issue though.

I've been browsing the sites you all have linked to get a better idea of what I will need. It seems that I shouldn't need more than a GB as I only have a handful of players. I would prefer to have a command menu, I can run FTP and such, but being in college, I'd rather have a quick menu to do any changes.

I am looking up the differences between Tekkit, Bukkit and such. Our server simply ran off the provided Minecraft software, so Im not sure all the differences.

A group of friends and I have been playing a server for quite a while, but the PC running it recently died. We decided as a group to just have it hosted by an outside source to make thing easier on ourselves, as none of us have the time to tinker with keeping it running anymore.

So I was looking into getting a server that would run the currently most up to date version of Minecraft, could hold roughly 15 players, and that was easy to operate. Know that there as as many bad Server hosts as there are good ones, I would like to try out the service before commiting. We plan on running this server for a few years, so we'll be a reliable customer.

I also have a few questions about how one connects to a 3rd party MC server, as we have a few younger players who have less than stellar grasps on networking. I would assume it's not through MC's Network option in the game...

I have quite a bit of free time and would be glad to help out in building this block of Chicago. I am unable to go there, myself, but I'd be quite useful in leveling terrain and filling in regions that are already mapped out. And given good blueprints, I could help construct buildings and such.

However, I do not own the alpha version yet, so if you need it in that, I'll need a few days to purchase it.

I like how this makes models and images easier to build by making them into a form that transfers to the game. I was wondering if there wasa way to rotate an image though. I am wanting to build a Liberty Ship in my game, but the program always render's it sideways. I tried the rotation command but it either remains the same, or the image completely disappears.

Also interested in knowing what the largest item one could render is? I have a fortress I'd like to build, but it's a bit large. . . If it scales with the ship's size (It's 625,000 cubes) then this will easily crest 10,000,000. . .

So I tried that Survivor link you posted and it's vastly different from the Freebuild. Is that the basic concept of the Alpha version?

If it's similar, I may have to look into finding someone who can do online purchases. It's an interesting game style, and quite entertaining.

I've been reading the forums a bit, and some threads mention that they worked for access to the alpha version. Would there be anyone who needs a helping hand or such in exchange for Alpha access? I have quite a bit of free time in the evenings and should be capable of doing most tasks.

The product does only cost $15, but there's a fee for transferring funds to an online account and a fee for purchasing an item below $25, so all together, it would cost me $50. This is really the only reason I was interested in a trial version, as Im not really sure if the game is worth it in the end. I also note the price will go up, but it also could possibly become available in a store somewhere. . .

No trial version being available is a slight hitch. I'm still not sure if it's worth the effort and high cost. . .

    Dear Community,

I recently found Minecraft and have played the Classic version on the site for a couple weeks now. I enjoy the concept of building anything and like how others can help, or even build things with you. However, recently, I've noticed that there's essentially no way to keep random people from destroying what you've spent time building, and it's a futile effort to even try to build anything worth while. I mentioned this to a friend at my local college, and he mentioned that these players are not really that prevelant in the Alpha version, or the purchased version. He also said it was more based on crafting and building over simply placing blocks.
This has me interested and I would like to try to Alpha version before working out a way to purchase it online. I was wondering if there was a Trial Version avaliable to see the Alpha version and where it's link might be. I understand that the cost is small, but the only way I would have to transfer funding to an online account would triple the cost of the product in the end. So before paying $50, I would like to see if it is something I would play.

Thank you for your time and help in this matter, and I look forward to possibly seeing some of you online.
