I would prefer it if instead of releasing all these snapshots as separate .jar files, Mojang would just update the game with them. More bug testers, more feedback, and people don't get bored waiting for the update.
Books, books, books, yes! My books! Pretty little pieces of knowledge! If I get enough I will know everything. But the others, oh, they want the knowledge too. I will not let them have it! Hahahaha! My books! My books! My books...
I was playing Skyrim the other day and thought "How would this work in Minecraft multiplayer?"
Imagine. It would start like a Towny server. Towns are built, and more powerful towns cost more to live in usually. However, each town's owner has the ability to set the rules for their town and administrate them. Essentially, each town is a "server" of its own, with admins, moderators, and normal members going about their lives. Of course, the wilderness was just normal survival. If someone committed a crime in a town and fled to another, the people from that town would have to ask permission to hunt them down. If the town accepted, they would come in and act justice upon the offender. Of course, they may refuse. There would be an "admin city", where every inhabitant had to be an admin. The owner of a city could make rules. The city could allow hacking, xrays, greifing, looting, pillaging, etc., or they could make it illegal to build with lapis blocks. it would make an interesting social experiment, to see how cities turned out like this. Would they be gleaming, justly-ruled metropolises, or sprawling, grief-riddled shantytowns?
tl;dr: Each city has an "admin" who is the owner. Each city is like a server in that it has complete freedom from the others and is solely governed by its leader. There is no "server admin", just an admin for each city.
Notch mentoined an apocalypse mode on his Twitter waaay back, and even posted a screenshot of it while he was developing it, but then he sort of forgot about it and nobody heard any more news. Now Jeb's in control, it probably won't ever happen.
Well, if someone came onto my server with a nude skin, I'd tell them to change it, because 90% of the time, they're just being perverts. Some people may have different reasons, like you, but most don't.
I remember hearing that there was a 0.00001% chance of finding a dungeon chest filled with diamond blocks. I also heard that slimes would spawn in relative size to the cave, so if you dug out a slime cave to the surface, 120-block-tall slimes would spawn.
Missingno is actually not Pokemon specific, it's the default text that shows when a nonexistant ID is generated. Missingno appears in pokemon when the game spawns a Pokemon that is not coded into the game fully.
King of the ladder is pretty fun. Search it on Youtube for more info.
Also, you can always have a good old-fashioned brawl in a PVP arena, or download the Ultimate MobArena plugin and fight waves of mobs with your friends.

Or it could be a clever use of the sphere shader from the shaders mod
