We know for a fact that it will not be a cave update. And the "bugs and bees" thing was a joke, referring to programming bugs. I doubt very much that is really the theme of the update, they'll be saving that for MineCon.

There was an official denial about a cave update? Very disappointing if so, but nonetheless I do love the bee's and look forward to playing with their possibilities in my farms!

Honey I find from messing around with it has a very good use, topping off your hidden hunger saturation! Even with full hunger bar you can keep drinking honey and top off your saturation it would seem! After drinking a few when full hunger bar, I was able to run for a long distance before starting to deplete hunger and this means it can be good to have a good helping of honey before going into dangerous situations so one regens health a lot more as well when injured.

I always take them out, cause, each one is a free lead! It was the only early possible source I had for leads in a server with only one biome!

Should be all the same, recently destroyed a natural village with friends on a server and rebuilt in a different location and cats seem to be appearing according to the same rules as a generated village, just gotta have enough beds (and perhaps villagers and work stations too, I need to read into it sometime) and wait long enough.

@DirtTheDirtFox You need to load the world border mod for the /wb trim command to work. Its not a standard vanilla command

Well it really REALLY should be a standard command, this has been needed a very long time! But I'll look it up, if it won't break pure vanilla compatibility after I'm done and move the world to vanilla.

What?!?! There is actually a command to trim everything beyond a certain radius to reduce the size of my world which is too big to upload to a server?! why can't I find this on the wiki?! I'd been needing this forever!

edit: /wb does not seem to exist after trying and world border seems to have nothing related to trimming, is this a mod feature? :(

posted a message on Notch is not the maker :(

From what I've indirectly heard he's been getting into some what could be called off the deep end matters? In which case I understand the motive behind just keeping him in the credits and leave it at that. And probably best left at that here as well considering the nature of what I've heard, IF true, I honestly don't know, and maybe don't want to know. And really, he's been out of the equation so long anyway.

I think Mojang has done a great job managing this game ever since as well, and some seem to mistakenly keep thinking he has anything to do with it today and wrongly assume he's still involved.

Trouble is it would be quite a liability to villagers I imagine. In fact I don't think the saw blade should be animated unless the block was powered by redstone OR was in use by the player or villager, it just shouldn't always be on, that is in fact kind of weird. Support the idea, but only if powered by redstone or in use and only should be animated in those instances.

I for one always thought Illagers should be able to do such a thing! It actually made no sense why they wouldn't be able to. Unless one imagines the Villagers are locking their doors to them perhaps, in which case maybe only Vindicators can break down doors like zombies which could be made to take time or be defeated by a design consideration to make breaking impossible like it is for zombies..

posted a message on Ability for jukeboxes to play automatically for discs in a queue.

I think hoppers would indeed be brilliant to support for jukeboxes! Even if nothing else I think having redstone power to a jukebox should let it loop infinitely. The fact that jukeboxes are completely manual is why I almost never even so much as give them a glance in any circumstance and might only use them for comsetic details, which is a pity considering their potential.

Actually, I think something weird and buggy is definitely going on with the supply and demand feature, I went afk a long time at a solitary armor smith whom I gave a workstation and bed, nothing else, and got him to master, and just went afk. When I came back much later, I found EVERYTHING was down to a cost of 1 emerald, everything, even diamond armors! That cannot be right. Perhaps a lot of these values I was getting were too good to actually be true...

It's like they hate players that want to actually do end-game level setups. Supply and demand is a massive mistake, and villagers only being able to restock twice per day is an even more massive one.

Might as well never bother with any non-librarian villagers again with these horrible changes. They're gutting trading into the ground. Those of us with big auto-farms and villager trading centers are going to be emptying out our stocks as quickly as we can before all of these systems become effectively useless. Then there's the iron golem farms being decimated, the villagers having to be next to their workbenches to restock, and no other changes to trades or new good trades (except the globe pattern and everything the Mason and Wanderer sell). All of the trades that were garbage before will still be garbage, the prices haven't been changed, and certain villagers will continue to be completely and utterly worthless (leatherworker, butcher, fletcher).

Is Mojang actually aware of what the real problems with trading are that need updating? From the way things have been going so far, it certainly seems like they aren't. The structure changes to villages are great, but aside from that, the focal point of the entire update is looking quite terrible, it's just a nerftrain smashing all of our farms and trade systems into paste.

I strongly suspect this update was aimed at more casual and lite consumption players like myself and my friends on small servers, I suppose I could see why this would be an issue on bigger servers or large to immense scale projects but I think what they were trying to do was somehow make it so villagers are more useful for average players but on the other paw not put out an insane amount of easy resources either via mass farming etc. Maybe that will need tweaking to make everyone happy but I have not done such testing yet, but so far it's a big boost for my needs, also I like that I have control over the types of villagers that get introduced into villages over time as well.

Also there's the option of, just make more villages with the villagers you need which is easier now, especially in places you couldn't quickly setup villages before. And seriously, getting iron armor sets for less than it used to cost for a single piece is HUGE for me, I'm going to love my armor smith's, and it's nice that no villager can ever be locked out of all trades forever.

Edit: Also I don't see why your prices wouldn't change, if you build up your rep, discounts are huge.

Edit2: As someone who likes iron golem farms, I also like the changes, I think my designs can become simpler now too, yeah having to change something you've already done can be annoying, but I think it'll be quite rewarding long run.

So, everything has changed it seems about villagers, but I absolutely love it! Trades are actually amazing now and so much more viable in casual play if done with some forethought. I also love the way a village is established now and how much control you have over design now because of it! Place the beds, work stations, and gathering point wherever you want, it's awesome!

And to top all this off, it now seems possible to establish a fully functional village even totally underground, so literally anywhere can be a village now, even in the nether due to not needing sky anymore! This is looking to be the coolest update I've been a part of so far since getting Minecraft!

posted a message on So what do you guys think about the new 1.14 textures?

(Could have swore I posted here before unless I'm going crazy) There are a few exceptions but I by far think most of the new textures are nicer and blend well together, I also like how things just look more crisp and rich in the distance now too. But yeah I agree on some things like glowstone being odd. But I think almost no matter there's just going to be no way to please everybody and there's always going to be a split opinion and in some cases also be those who'll only ever accept the original textures for nostalgia reasons.

I think a good job was done for the most part and hope the artists for the most part go through with this as it is. It didn't always look good before when they changed things but they took constructive feedback to heart nicely in my opinion.
