game breaking bug: i had like 5 zebras and i named my cow horse WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO and other zebras turned into more WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOs. you HAVE to fix this!
a fair number of people seem to be reporting this problem at the 12w19a snapshot release thread, as well, and so far nobody has come up with an explanation or work around.
I'm having this same problem and I can't create a new world in Singleplayer OR load an old world, either. I've got this same problem on 2 computers that I can easily get to communicate using the old server program to host a multiplayer game on my local network.
I've tried a dozen times on each computer and I only get the:
Connection refused: connect
error. I tried restarting my coputer-- same problem.
I wonder if this is a problem communicating with my router? Any help would be appreciated as I'd like to test some of the new stuff.

I've noticed that when ores tend to cluster like that, diamond is usually involved. Whenever I see an Iron/Redstone cluster in the diamond-layer I dig it out and maybe 20% of the time I find diamond also included.

Well you can always head over to 2b2t.net (enter that in your server ip in minecraft). There are no mods and no rules so its pretty much a cesspool of human filth but its also the most challenging and hardcore pvp server out there. Good luck surviving the spawn area. You have to go out at least 1000 blocks from spawn to find anyplace secluded enough to survive.

Looking for a new challenge I logged on to 2b2t.net to check out their "vanilla anarchy" server. I'm now hooked. It's freaking insane. I've probably died 20 times just trying to get out of the damn spawn area, either by taking a fall, being attacked by a pvp attacker, or otherwise (and usually) starving to death because there is no food for miles and miles from the spawn. Fighting zombies with your barehands is your best bet at food.
This server is the closest to a "post apocalyptic" map that I can imagine.
You can logon at 2b2t.net there is no whitelist, no rules (other than no cheating and no xray). It's been going for almost a year and let me tell you that map is a MESS.
I love it. I haven't died so much since I was a total newb. If you are looking for something beyond hardcore, look no further than 2b2t.net
This server is a Hardcore PvP Server. Please join, raid and destroy as much as you desire.
Rules:
1.) Griefing, Stealing, Killing of all players. Allowed!
2.) No whining if you are killed, griefed, or get anything stolen!

I've been playing a lot of Hardcore mode lately and here is some advice that might help anyone who is going to try this challenge:
1) Suit up in the best armor you can craft as soon as you possibly can, wear as full a set as possible and and keep it in good repair.
2) Use your first 2 diamonds for a diamond sword, so you can kill mobs faster. A good way to die is to try and fight multiple mobs with an iron sword and mostly damaged armor.
3) The fastest way to produce food (without complex farming systems that take a lot of time to build) seems to be by farming melons or setting aside some time to grind pork/beef. If you are going into an abandoned mineshaft, go in, get the melon seeds, and come out. Don't try and be a hero-- mineshafts are dangerous. The only thing you want is the melon seeds. You can take a bucket of milk to cancel the poison from cave spiders. I like melons as food because you can keep your hunger bar at 100% without wasting food (pop a melon every time you get down to 90%). Melons are a bit inventory intesive, but they are fast to produce.
4) Carry a bucket of water with you in case you fall in lava so you can quench yourself with it. I have mine set to slot 9 so I can punch the number key in a panic. I've saved my hardcore world a half-dozen times with my water bucket.
I'd say those are my top 4 tips for a hardcore speed run. Good luck fellas.
Is there a plugin that lets you put colored wool into the crafting table and bonemeal with it so you can make white wool. Can you post a link in the description for this plugin. I have a bukkit server. If there is not this plugin is there some one I can suggest this too?
Although this doesn't answer your question it might be helpful to you-- you can craft white wool out of 4 spider silks (string). You can locate gobs and gobs of string around cave-spider-spawners in abandoned mineshafts.

The gist of this article is that Iran is working on a nuke. We have proof. They want to nuke Israel. Israel is now considering attacking Iran in order to stop it since diplomacy is failing. America might get involved seeing as how we are an ally of Israel and Iran hates us anyway. Iran says no way they are working on nukes but some of the nuclear plans and tech they have are nuke only tech. Russia has spoken out saying attacking Iran would be a grave mistake. Israel leaders seem to be warming up to the idea of attacking Irans nuclear sites to stop them from making a nuke. World War 3 here we come.

I agree, but then so is MC Edit. I always carry around a bucket of water for just such occasions. I keep it in slot 9 of my taskbar so I can punch the #9 key to access my anti-lava water bucket quickly if I need it. It's a good habit to cultivate.
Are you playing 1.8.1 or 1.9? If 1.9, you have a higher chance of survival because your clothes wont burn for as long as they would in 1.8, so if you can get yourself clear of the lava you have a better chance in 1.9. So if you are still in 1.8 you could update to 1.9 before you resume play. I don't think that's cheating, its just "selective updating."
You could also back-up the save file, and then if you die you could try again a few times until you found a way to survive-- but that would sort of also be cheating I think. Not as bad as hacking or editing but it lets you avoid the consequences of death so I think that is not so cool.
As Terbium mentioned, placing a door might work, (or ladders, or signs if they arent flammable [cant recall]) to hold back the lava in one square, but if the lava is deep you'll just sink down into it, anyway and you wont have a solid block to place the door against.
Also, if you are able to survive the initial impact and build a spot for you to stand, but you are still on fire-- eat some food if you are below 90% health so your healing kicks in. It will help reduce some of the burn damage.
